Strange Behavior

Most days are the same for me. I wake up, find Allison, wake her up, and wait for my breakfast.

Allison gets it for me every morning. It's not that I can't get my own food. I could if I really wanted to, but Allison likes doing it! She always gets excited when I come and ask her to prepare it. I know because she always purrs when I rub against her.

Her purrs sound a little different from mine, but I think that must be normal since she's so much bigger than me. She also rolls around in her blankets and tries to play hide and seek with me. It's our favorite game!

Anyway, after breakfast, I usually try to find one of my toys for us to play other games with. Allison will throw around my mouse and I'll chase after it. Then she grabs this strange stick with feathers attached to it. I don't know why I find it so entertaining, but I love chasing after those feathers. I also have a board for scratching, but it's not my favorite. The coach is more fun. I can dig my claws in further. But Allison always stops me and puts me next to the board instead. I know I shouldn't, but I just decided to scratch the couch when she's away and can't stop me. What she doesn't know won't hurt her, I'm sure.

The next part of the day always makes me a little sad. Allison stops playing with me and goes to groom herself. I finally figured out that's what she was doing after a long time of being confused. She would go into another room and close the door. She would be in there for longer than an hour some days, and when she finally came out there would be a bunch of heat and steam.

I found it very unusual, but after thinking about it for some time I finally understood. When I clean myself, my tongue is always a little warm. She must have a super big tongue in that little room that cleans her up every day! It makes sense because hers is too small to clean her whole body, and she isn't as flexible as I am. It also explains why she gets so wet in there. Personally, I like my fur to dry fast, but Allison doesn't seem to mind when hers is soaking. It is one of her many peculiarities.

At this point, I usually get a little sleepy and look for a place to nap. I have many options. Allison's sleeping place, the couch, my own sleeping place which I hardly use if I'm honest, and some others. My favorite is the spot by the big clear space in the wall. I don't know what it is, but I can press my whole body up against it and look around the outside world through it. I like watching all the other Allisons walking around out there. It also gets really warm when the sun comes out, which is nice.

While I'm sleeping, Allison leaves our place for most of the day. I think she must be out looking for food and such, even though she comes back empty-handed most days. Not the most proficient hunter, but I still love her. And there's always food for me either way!

During the day, while she's gone, I try to find things to do to be helpful. Sometimes she leaves many things out on the counter, so I push them all off to help her clean up. When I'm using the bathroom, I always notice some dirty spots on the sides of my toilet, so I try to cover them up. It's a little difficult, but I think I do a decent job sufficiently covering them up.

When Allison gets home she is always excited to see the work I've done. She makes her strange purring noises, but even louder! And she looks at me and does the slow blink! Which is our way of saying we love each other! She also does something strange with her hand and moves one finger back and forth, which I don't quite understand, but I think means that she approves.

She feeds me dinner, just like how she does for breakfast, and always makes something for herself too. Sometimes she shares hers with me, but sometimes she refuses and does the strange finger wag again. I suppose she is a little stingy, but I don't blame her since she does all the work to collect the food. It must be tiring.

We spend some time on the couch every night with me curled up in her lap while she pets my fur. She turns on the strange glowing box and makes weird noises at it for a few hours. Her rituals really are very different to mine, but they seem to make her happy so I don't do anything about it.

When she is ready to sleep, I curl up next to her in her sleeping place, which is very big and comfy. At some point during the night I wake up and wander around our home for a bit, just because I'm bored. She sleeps a lot more than I do I guess. But that's okay. I wait until the sun is just peeking over the horizon to go and wake her up! I know she appreciates me letting her get all that rest!

Yes, every day is mostly the same. But I am very happy here with Allison. We take good care of each other, and our lives are peaceful. We've never even fought! Just play-fighting.

Today, she came back with a box that was making very strange noises. They sound like meows, but are so high-pitched! There are holes in the box that I tried looking through, but everything inside was so dark! I couldn't make anything out. What could she have found out there?

I love our little home with just the two of us. I hope nothing ever changes.

Cute story. Two similar kitties. Makes me want to write about my horse's POV of her and I.

I think it's a lot of fun to imagine what our animal companions think of us! I often wish I could look inside their heads to find out.

Simple story and a breezy read. Reminded me of the "the secret life of pets" , and I mean that as a compliment.

And I appreciate it! I wasn't sure how I liked it since it's not my usual style of writing, but the breeziness of it was definitely appealing even while writing it.

It was a fun experiment for me! I don't usually write from this type of POV, but maybe I will try to continue the story of Allison's kitty!
