Looking in the mirror in her room, Emmy noticed that things were not ordinary. Her room was not arranged the way it was when she fell asleep. In fact, this mirror was new along with many other new things that were about the room. Looking down at her bed, she saw her body lying there asleep along with the resting body of her friend Rochelle who had slept over tonight. All the lights in the house were on and she noticed her sister Julia, whom lived with her, was awake and fixing to leave, getting her coat and shoes on in the room across from her.
“Julia, what are you doing?” Julia responded she was going out and looked extremely excited about it. Prancing as she went from her room, down the hall and into the open style kitchen and living room. “Where are you going?” Without answering her, Julie left, dashing out the door, leaving Emmy in the house. This was different then a typical dream, it felt real. She wondered if this was what many people called limbo, or maybe this was lucid dreaming.
Thinking it would be interesting to venture outside and see what it was like out there. She dashed to the door and threw it open joyfully, but her smile quickly faded upon seeing a man just outside. He smiled maliciously and grabbed for her. Immediately upon his touch they both became as if part of the air and were lifted and she found herself back where her body was in her bed. It was as if they had flown and he forced her back to her body, yet he was nowhere to be found. Enraged, she arose again and went back out to the kitchen. Her sister could leave, but not her, and it made her feel like a prisoner. Although the encounter of the strange man left her quivering, she couldn’t help but want to open the door again. She headed toward the door to see if he was on the other side of it.
She made it about halfway to across the living room when suddenly there was a loud screech that stopped her in her tracks. It was loud and unusually piercing that it made her bones ache. As she turned around, she saw a large humanoid robotic creature step out of the fridge. It did not open the door to come out, but it merely walked out of the metal box. Its body was like a transformer, like the ones from stories, with many parts continuously moving, and its eyes were two blue orbs. Etherical, bright balls of light moving lively in their sockets. Large metal spikes ran down its head and spine, with metal claws for fingers as well as large metal teeth. Pointed and sharp, its humongous grin glimmered in the light and took up most of its face. Silver in color, with the red spikes going down its body, it almost looked like a rooster, yet reptilian like. A very alien creature that was too difficult for her mind to comprehend.
Static energy emitted from its body and mouth as it screeched at her again. Throwing his arms back, it charged at her quickly with large strides. Once again, she lifted and flew back to her body, as if it was an instinct. The whole time, she could see him coming for her as she flew above the ground. Back inside her body, she was paralyzed and unable to move, heart pounding in her chest. The entity, which was now entering her room, positioned itself on top of her frozen body. They were now face to face.
“Hahaha!” His laugh echoed in her mind as he stared into her. His razor-sharp teeth smiling from ear to ear like the Cheshire cat. “I’ve got you now!” His voice spoke into her telepathically. There were no words, just thoughts.
“No,” Emmy thought, “Help me, Jesus, please!” She prayed and pleaded for Jesus or anything to make this monster go away. Her jaw felt as if it was wired shut, the paralysis of her body holding even her voice hostage. She tried to scream but only pathetic grunts came through her lips that were tightly pressed together. She said the words inside her mind, “Please, no, help me, anyone!”
He laughed at her again. “You are mine now, and I can do whatever I like with you.” Darkness enveloped her as he mocked her telepathically, speaking into her mind. “You are weak. You are pathetic. There’s nothing you can do now. I’ve got you. Hahaha!” For what seemed like hours, he tormented her and laughed at her. She begged and pleaded with him and even tried to be brave and fight it back mentally telling it that she was strong. She tried to be strong, she tried forcing her body to move, just an inch, but it hurt to move, it hurt to speak. Nothing helped, she was paralyzed, painfully trapped in this position, her eyes frozen open. There didn’t seem to be any escape from this torcher.
Just then she remembered she was not alone, and that her friend was asleep next to her and tried to nudge her, hoping to wake her up.
“Ahh, your friend here is already mine, see?” He lifted her friend by her hair. Rochelle was groaning, eyes rolled to the back of her head, whites showing, and there was mucus draining out of her eyes, nose and mouth. It looked like she was in just as much pain as Emmy. “She’s always been mine, and now I have you, and there’s nothing you can do.” This being was very pleased with himself, holding my friend up like a rag doll, before putting her back down to focus once more on me alone. “See, you are weak.”
As the hours passed, she felt herself grow weaker and more docile, she stopped responding and accepted that she was helpless in its grasp. There was nothing she could do; she gave up fighting it.
Blinking, the scene disappeared. She sat up and found herself in her bedroom with the lights off and her friend fast asleep next to her. She pulled her knees to her chest, eyes wide with fear, she sat awake the rest of the night.
