Strange visitor

""John's grades are not good enough,please take good care of his studies. Nowadays he doesn't score good , but he listens to everything taught in class. We can't figure out why his marks are declining. There must be something in your home that distracts him from his studies". I told his mother. I felt like she was not taking it seriously. After having a cup of tea, when i was about to leave ,we heard a knock at the door. Who was that?

John's mother,Merlin opened the door and exclaimed in surprise ,"David!!!".She hugged him and brought him inside the house. Something about that man seemed strange to me. He looked like a young man,but his dressing was too old fashioned, his hair was not neatly cut. He was not at all energetic. Seeing my doubtful face,Merlin introduced him to me," Miss Swan, this is David ,my brother, John's Uncle. He lives two streets ahead in K M Lane. He owns a farm". We shaked our hands, and at that moment I again felt something unusual about him. His hands were way too cold and rough. And his smile ,it literally looked like a Demon smiling at me.

I was getting late ,so I bid a goodbye to all of them ,and was leaving the house. Then I noticed that I missed my wallet there, and i went near the door to ring the bell . Then suddenly that man opened the door. Behind him there was a mirror, which showed only me...Yes,David had no reflection in the mirror. He gave me my wallet and a breeze of foulsmell surrounded us.I couldn't speak anything, all my strength was draining away.He was again throwing that Demon smile at me . Somehow I managed to say thank you and ran away from there . Suddenly someone grabbed my hands. I got panicked and but got relieved by seeing that it was John. He told me that his house was the one opposite to the house that I entered and the house that I entered was an abandoned one because that house is haunted!!!

Hearing that I almost missed one heartbeat, I thought about the tea I drank from there. I felt pain in my stomach. John led me to his house and to my surprise that house looked exactly like that haunted house, his mother dressed exactly like that ghost Merin. A bunch of coincidences. Is this possible? Pain in my stomach grew stronger and stronger. May be these are all my imaginations, still the pain in the stomach was real. Somehow I managed to control that pain and thoughts and told Merin about her son's grade. She also offered me a cup of tea which I rejected because of my stomach ache. She gave me a medicine for my pain. I was in a dilemma,whether to have it or not. There was a sea of thoughts running inside my mind. I was sure that tea from the haunted house gave me stomach ache. Is it safe to have medicine from this house ? May be its okay to have one,since in the previous house i didn't see John. But here John is sitting beside me, this must be real.And I decided to take that medicine and after having that my pain declined. The sun was about to set and I was again getting late .I bid them goodbye .Suddenly someone was at the door. We heard a knock at the door. I was frozen in fright. Merin opened the door and exclaimed in surprise, "David!!". There was that man who i saw earlier in that haunted house, the same look,the same hair,the same lifeless body. My stomach ache reappeared but to a greater extend.Tears ran down my face out of fear and pain .What to do next? I noticed that the medicine strip was still on that table . I grabbed it and get out of that house immediately.I could hear voice of that man behind me asking who is she,why she went like that,etc. I walked straight through the road and called for a taxi. After I entered the taxi , I took that medicine and felt relieved from pain. I took a huge breath.Finally I am out of that haunted place!

My phone rang.It was my husband, " Darling, where are you? In the morning I forgot to tell you that we've got a guest today. He'll be arriving soon. You are getting late,come fast " .l told him that I'd be there in 10 minutes. After hanging up the phone, I listened to some music by connecting the earphone.

I reached home and the driver said 10 dollars. I searched for my wallet in my bag,but in vain.

Yes ,again I forgot my wallet. I asked the driver to wait for me while i go inside the house to get the money. In reply he gave me a wallet. It was mine!!. I looked him , I was shocked. He is David. I took that wallet from him. He had no image in the car mirror.Again that foul smell was coming, and I gave him 10 dollars and ran out of that taxi and finally entered my home.

There, my husband was waiting for me.

"What happened Honey? You look so pale. We are running out of time. Hurry up and get ready, my friend will be here in 5 minutes. Don't worry about the food and drinks ,I have arranged that",said my husband. Seeing his face, I forgot all my fears and tensions and felt secure. I took a quick shower and dressed neatly . I arranged the foods and drinks on the table and our door bell rang, my husband opened the door and he welcomed that man inside our house. Again to my shock,it was none other than David!!.

This is the end of my story,'The Strange Visitor' ,How is it Ma'am?",asked Juliette to her teacher Clare. All those inside the class room clapped their hands and appreciated Juliette.

The school bell rang . The peon came suddenly and told Clare that she'd got a visitor..
