My Dream Job

I'm 50 years old and in the midst of a drawn out divorce. I was in an emotionally abusive marriage for 20 years. My husband and I owned our own business for 14 years, so I was able to stay home and raise our kids, as well as working for the business. Two years ago, I accidentally discovered that he had been soliciting prostitutes. He moved out and I was depressed and scared about the future. I hadn't worked outside the home in 15 + years, had no skills, and didn't know where to begin.

After getting out of an emotionally abusive marriage of over 20 years, I found myself 50 years old, depressed and scared about my future. I hadn’t worked outside the home in over 15 years as I had owned our own business, and I felt hopeless. My lawyer asked me what my dream job would be. I said I’d always thought about working at a Dr’s office at the front desk. But I really wished I could work in a non-profit, making a difference. At this point, I didn’t know about The Secret.

I started taking classes on working in a Dr’s office to become a Medical Admin Assistant. One day, I wrote down a list of exactly what my dream job would look like. It included good benefits, wages, co-workers, etc. and I also wrote: “Bonus- a non-profit”. Every day I read my list in the morning and at night. I started believing I was a good person, with a good heart and I deserved a good job.

I ended up being one of over 100 applicants chosen for the position I got, even though I hadn’t finished my classes. It was my absolute dream job! A Patient Service Representative at a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Clinic that serves anyone regardless of ability to pay or life situation. Our patients include families seeking asylum, who can’t speak English and are living in shelters, as well as many people who have just fallen on hard times.

I have great benefits and work with the most wonderful people who share my thoughts about making a difference in the world. I say it a lot; I love my job! I happened to be telling one of my co-workers about how I wrote down what I really wanted and read it every day. She got all excited and asked me if I had watched “The Secret”. She couldn’t believe that I had never heard of it and told me to watch it immediately, which I did. I couldn’t believe that I had actually manifested my dream job without even realizing it!

I completely believe in this now and have used it to get the house and man of my dreams. It works!

I want to send positivity to all the souls who are waiting for a miracle, know that it does happen.

I was desperately looking for a job for almost 2 years. Finally, The Secret came into my life as well as The Secret Super App. When you make a decision, no one can stop you.

The day had come and everything happened on its own. First of all, the HR for the interview panel and everyone else was so kind. They all behaved as if the Universe instructed them to give me this job. I had never been so positive like this in an interview before. The panel members were so helpful and motivating. Even before I attended the interview I had the feeling that this job was already mine. I left everything up to the Universe and the process and attended the job interview.

Finally, I got a call from HR telling me that I was selected! I already knew that I was going to receive this positive news. However, the salary they offered me was more than what I had expected and the post is at seniority level. There is no limit to my happiness. God bless all the souls. It will happen, just trust the process. Have patience and faith.

I graduated from college with a prestigious degree, with the high hopes of getting a good job. However, about two years after graduating, I still had never landed a job. I had never liked my course and absolutely disliked the job field I was supposed to work in. It was during this time that I was frustrated about my future because I did not know what to do with my life. I was feeling suicidal because of the social pressure. I felt worthless, irrespective of the fact that I had actually already achieved so much in my life.

That was when I got to know about the law of attraction. Needless to say, I was stunned by the simple truths Rhonda had explained in The Secret. To me, going through the book felt like attaining enlightenment. I felt so relieved knowing that I would never have a worry in my life anymore.

I created a list of things I wanted at that time. A dream job was one of those things. Keep in mind, my definition of a dream job changed over time. But at that time, this was the most creative job I could come up with in my imagination. I came up with some very good attributes.

I must highlight that even though I knew all about the LOA, I never felt I was capable of achieving this dream job. Being unemployed for years does that to you. What I scripted was a perfect job but I did not really believe that I had a chance at it. Who was going to recruit me with no experience? Because the job I wanted required some specific experience. Anyway, I kept writing about it every day. I edited it and updated the content so many times.

After a few months, one of my contacts made me aware of a job. It was somewhat like the job that I wanted. But just as I believed they would, they had asked for my experience. I applied for it only because my contact had asked me to. I never gave any thought to it after I applied because I did not think I was ever going to be employed in this lifetime.

Somehow, after a few months, to my surprise they actually contacted me. I did a few interviews with them too. But I quickly forgot about those interviews because I honestly did not think I stood a chance at getting it. So I was kind of letting it go.

Then lo and behold, I got selected! At that time, for me, it was just about becoming employed but this job also came with a good salary!

Then came the actual working part. That was when I realized that this was actually the job I had really wanted! It totally matched my skills and interests. I joined the best team with the most amazing coworkers, had the kindest mentors, and I was so happy and so relaxed in the job. For the first time in my life, I actually liked working. I totally improved myself thanks to that job. It was actually the ladder that has helped me to upgrade to match with my next dream job. I will write about that in a separate story.

So this is my story about my first dream job. I, who never believed that I was lucky enough to land a job, landed a job that I absolutely loved. It was everything I had scripted. It paved so many paths for me in my life. I am so grateful to the Universe. I am so grateful to Rhonda, and for everybody else who helped me become who I am today. Thank you so very much!
