I Never Understood

Written in response to: "Write a story with the line “I don’t understand.”"

Adventure Drama Fiction

I always say, "I never understood. I will never understand." "No matter how many times you spend explaining to me what you feel I need to know, I will reply with "I don't understand."

"It is due to my not fully using my brain or having more brain farts than the average person." "Maybe it's due to my not having a certain level of normal intelligence." "Maybe I just do not comprehend the basics and am always in a cloudy moment mentally."

"No rhyme or reason to explain the various reasons behind my lack of basic knowledge or basic complete comprehension to understand the why, the what, the who, the when, the where, or even the how." "It seems easier to just nod your head in agreement and leave things there, at the point." "Yeah, easier said than done, especially when you are having a one-sided chat with a woman."

"It is true women know more, learn and teach more, and are right 100% of the time." "Yes, women are better at every aspect of life, individually and more often than most would admit." "I will just nod and agree."

"Now to get to the point at hand, to agree to disagree when there is no compromise, and playing it safe, when you know you can't win."

"The lessons learned throughout my many years, decades living on planet Earth, learning from the best and brightest, and even after supposedly understanding, saying I don't understand." "Hey, I am at least being honest with myself, not so much as everyone else." "Not that that would be as important, except prevent an incident or being humiliated."

"The main reason to this note of knowledge, it helps to know what one is up against, like a chess opponent." "To figure out what will be the outcome, before the actual event takes place."

"Of course, never lie to yourself, stating that you know everything about women, which is what a fool believes, even when the truth is pointed out plain as day."

"It leaves much to be desired, it leaves more questions than answers, being answered, leaves some more problems than solutions, but a peaceful resolve can be found, if you know where to look for the resolve, as it is well hidden, like a metaphorical needle in a haystack." "Yes, the straw that broke the camel's back, they were already two humped converted from the single hump."

"You are better off, just being man enough to admit, you do not know everything and especially when lost, asking a woman to show you the way, giving you the accurate directions that will lead you back to safety."

"Saying, I don't understand does not in anyway, any shape or any form, affect your manhood, if anything this shows you are better for being a human being."

"Admitting when you are wrong and not knowing any more later, after you throw your massive manly unattractive tantrum because you were proven wrong, then you will look like the ultimate fool, definitely."

"You can just keep things at the beginning and nonflammable, by just being willing to accept the fact that you are only human and maybe have half a brain to boot."

"No one will blame you for saying things that go against the idea of what men actually are and what they are misled to believe by other men who do not have a clue and are still sitting in the corner, in the dark, crying because they are still scared."

"Saying you don't know, means you admit openly, in a crowd of 5,000, with a bull horn recording everything you think, everything you say or everything you do, or are thinking of doing." "Yes, that means your inner most thoughts are giving you no room for error, and you will quickly, painfully and unnecessarily find out your thoughts were never your own before."

"Open to interpretation, not what you want everyone on planet Earth to know especially your own mother or parents, and not wanting to cause you to become incriminated by your words, by your thoughts, and by your actions that may follow your way to respond to that which you wished you could take back or kept secret."

Saying, "I don't know, I don't understand, I never knew, only means you finally found the moment to be a brilliant idea that was already planned out for you, like your get out of jail free card, metaphorically."

"Most that think they know, never knew, those that claim they know, are still lost, and those who claim they know or boast about knowing, are just as lost any other man who claims to be all knowing."

"I personally do not understand nor do I claim to understand, especially with the matters of life that have no beginning and have no end."

"They still get me confused and still make me mad, because I should know better, or I wish I had known and forgot why I was wanting to know and to understand."

"The outcome of such an answer to fulfill all answers, the one word or statement made that would give the correct answer to all questions spoken in the past, are being spoken in the present, and have as of yet to be spoken in the future."

"To give much time to understand, giving much patience to figure out what is not understood or what is being mentioned to be understood, or even what a simple answer spoken, that answers the questions being asked."

"Is it still bad for one to acknowledge they don't understand without being judged or criticized or ridiculed for not knowing?"

Does this make one feel smaller than one grain of sand on the beach?" Or less willing to stop where they arrive at in the conversation, without making matters worse than they were before, the conversation got started?"

"Leaving one to wonder, why I don't understand, when understanding is easier said than done for most."

"Giving much food for thought, if only to feed the brain with, always."
