It was about 12:30 am on a wednesday night . richie and eddie were on a facetime call richie was eddies boyfriend so as normal couples do they never got off the phone that's how it was every night as always every time richie phone would start ringing and he saw it was eddie he would obviously answer no matter the time so that's what he did

“ hey eds whats up you ok” richie aks half asleep “ oh sorry if i woke u up “ eddie replies “ no no it's fine but  why'd u call me this late is everything ok” richie says still half asleep

“i just wanted to call and tell u im not gonna be at school tomorrow” richie immediately sits up in his bed “ what why is everything ok did something happen” “everything's fine i just don't feel so hot so imma stay home” eddie says sitting his phone next to him on his pillow “ are u sick do u need me to come over i can make u something idk i can just help what do u want me to buy you what do u need” richie says so fastly eddie could barely understand him

“ richie im fine stop worrying about me” eddie replies “ fine but im still coming over tomorrow” richie agues “ fine” eddie agries “ im gonna go to bed goodnight love you” eddie says “ love u too” richie hangs up the phone the next morning richie was at school. He feels a tap on his shoulder .

“ richie do u know where eddie is he wasn't in 2nd period” stanley asks “ yeah he's sick” richie replies “STANLEY URIS AND RICHIE TOZIER HUSH WHILE IM TEACHING YOU HAVE LUNCH FOR A REASON ” the teacher yells “ sry mam'' richie says sarcastically turning back around to face her anyways class " okay class pop quiz"

Later that day Richie was walking in the halls when he suddenly heard an unpleasant voice “ hey loser where's your boyfriend at '' Henry yells pushing Richie up against a locker .” it's none of your business so get out of my way or this isnt gonna end well for that nose of yours '' richie yells back . The bell rang and the halls filled with students Henry suddenly disappeared into the crowd

on Richie's way home he called Eddie . He didn't answer which was surprising because Eddie always answers his phone . and richie being the paranoid person he is he got worried so he road his bike to eddie's house when he got there he saw the medical people pulling eddie out of his house on a stretcher “EDDIE” richie yells from down the sidewalk before richie could get to them the ambulance had drove away he followed the ambulance on his bike . after a little bit of waiting in the waiting room the doctors came out and said he could go visit eddie 

“eds what happened” richie asks berating thru the door “ i-i don't know i was fine one second then i just couldn't feel or see anything” eddies eyes filled with tears “hey eds ur gonna be ok i promise” richie says sitting on a chair next to eddies hospital bed “ yeah i really hope i d-” suddenly eddie stop talking and the machine starts beeping the nurses rush in and try to get eddie to start breathing richie starts crying but he still had a little bit of hope left in him the doctor walked out .

” We were able to save him but he has cystic fibrosis. It's basically when his airways fill with mucus, making it very difficult to breathe. It also can cause severe damage to the lungs and other organs in the body ”

richie looks down “ is he gonna be ok” richie asks “ see with cystic fibrosis we don't know he could die at any moment but he could live but with his case his is really bad but u can still go in and see him if u want to ” richie doesn't reply he just looks down and nods he walks thru the door and goes and sits on the bed next to eddie and hugs him “ richie im scared i don't want to die im not ready ” eddie said scared richie didn't want eddie to die any less then he did “ i don't want you to die either eds i love you” richie says with tears in his eyes richie i love you too” “ and its getting late im gonna go to bed can u stay here i dont to stay here alone” eds im not going anywhere i promise” in the middle of the night richie woke up to eddie breathing weird

” eds u ok” richie says bursting out of his chair he was sleeping in “richie if this is the end of everything i love yo-”eddie stopped breathing again richie ran out of the door and yelled for the doctors he waited outside the door hoping he would be ok “no no no please no please don't be dead eds please i need you” richie whispered to himself sliding down the wall and crying into his knees a few minutes had past he could hear beeping coming from the room the doctor walks out “ is he ok” richie asks wiping his tears “ i'm so sorry this is gonna be really hard to tell you but hes gone “ the doctor says

“no no hes not gone he cant be gone ur lying right pleas tell me ur lying .” richie says so fastly he has to catch his breath “ i really wish i was” the doctor replies “ no pls no he cant be gone he was only 14 hes to young to die” richie says quietly the doctor gives this sad but i have other things i have to get to face then walkes away . richie runs thru the hospital doors and rides his bike as fast as he could to eddies house

“eddie when i open this door you better be there” richie thought to himself the reason he could just burst through their door like that is because his mom was on a business trip and his dad, well he kinda left Eddie on his 8th birthday and didn't even say goodbye to Eddie or anyone and now Eddie doesnt even know where he is . Richie burst through the door hoping Eddie would be right there or at least somewhere in his house .

Richie ran around through the house like a psychopath looking for Eddie but he wasn't there . richie ran back to his house he laid on his bed and just cried into his pillow he didn't even go to school the next day he didn't eat he didn't even want to move he he sat there and continued crying all he could think about was how eddie was probably just laying there laying there died in the hospital bed and how there was no way he could ever date anyone else ever again eddie was his whole world he would never be able to move on . he was just on the phone with eddie and now eddies dead what would richie do with himself .

he didn't really want to kill himself well he was thinking about it so he could be with the love of his life but he had other friends he had the rest of the losers club he had stan, bill, bev,ben, and mike but they were nothing like eddie eddie wasn't just a friend eddie was his whole world his freaking lifeline.

Richie finally got up and while he was walking down the stairs he suddenly fell. He fell all the way down the stairs but before he landed he suddenly woke up in his bed with tears all over his face. It was like he was crying in his sleep . Richie had no idea what just happened .

The only thing that came to his mind was IS EDDIE OK . Richie got up as fast as he could and didn't even care enough about himself to change out of his pajamas; he just put on his crocs as fast as he could and ran to Eddie's house . richie rang the doorbell“pls answer pls answer pls an-'' before richie could finish his sentence the door swung open and right there standing at the door was eddie '' rich what happened why are you crying” eddie questions concernedly richie ran up to eddie and hugged him he was so happy that eddie was alive. “ are you ok” “ yeah i just really love you i can't imagine my life without you” richie says fastly “ rich i love you too… but i'm still so confused, "Eddie replies.
