Hannah.

Mum just came upstairs and shouted that we have to come down because she has a surprise for us. Of course Liam had his door closed, so I had to go over and knock thrice before he could came out. He is so annoying!

And then there was mum and dad downstairs and they looked very happy and they said that they had big news. They are having a baby!!!! And I got very happy and I asked them if it’s a boy or a girl and they didn’t know. But mum said if it’s a boy they will name it Peter and if it’s a girl they will call her Hannah. And Liam asked why those names and then mum went very somber (Mr. Parker said that this means sad, and I need to start using more compllex complex words anyways) and she said that this is because these were her parents’ names.

I haven’t met them, because they died before I was born, may they RIP. And I asked dad why those names, because his parents are also dead, only his step-mum remains, but he told me to be nicer to my mother, and Peter and Hannah are both beautiful names and he would be happy for the baby to be named either. And Liam said “whatever!” and went back to his room. I’m not sure I like Liam. But when the baby comes, we can play together, and it will be so much fun!

ps. I hope it’s a girl!!! We can braid each other’s hair and Liam can go away.

Mum’s tummy grows! They went to the doctor and the doctor said that it’s a girl!!

I asked mum what does it mean that the baby will be born. Will it be a baby forever??? None of my friends have little brothers or sisters, and Liam has been the same forever. He is always annoying and can never reach the lamp on the ceiling no matter how high he jumps.

Mum said that of course not, silly!! Hannah is going to grow and become a big girl like you one day!!

So does this mean that she was a baby once??

Mum says that everyone was a baby once, even me, but I can’t remember it. And then I asked her if we had any photos of me as a baby, because the corridor is full of pictures of me and Liam, but we both look the same. She got a ple perplexed look on her face and she said that she doesn’t know where they are, maybe they lost them when we moved houses. I asked her when was this, and she laughed and said a long time ago, but I can’t remember it. I will try to dream of the old house tonight.

Hannah is here! Mum and dad went to the hospital and they brought her home! She is very small and mum’s tummy is flat again! We went to take a picture to celebrate! Mum sits on a chair in the center, and she is holding Hannah. Dad is behind me, I am to her right and Liam is on her left. Dad keeps saying how happy he is. He told me and Liam that we can buy anything we want from the mall. Liam got this black shirt with a weird logo in front and I got a new paint set. I don’t know why he keeps buying new shirts, he never wears them!! But I want to draw a picture of Hannah when we get home.

We got the picture back from the store! It’s very fun to see that Hannah has grown since then! She was as long as mum’s one arm then, now she is almost as long as both of her arms. We hang hung the photo in the corridor, and dad said that he will look for pictures of me and Liam when we were babies to hang next to it.

Dad still hasn’t found the pictures. But Hannah almost talks now. She calls me Lo, and mum is trying to get her to say Laura, but I think Lo is funny. I think dad talked to step-gran, because I heard her tell mum that he’s being erratic (Liam says that this means crazy) and if dad lost the baby photos of his kids, that’s his own problem, not hers.

Today Hannah finally sat still and let me draw a picture of her. Ever since she started walking she hasn’t sat still once. Mum says that she runs like a racecar. Then, Liam took her to play football in the back yard. I’ve never been this good at sports, but I told Arabella about it, and she promised to teach me. She is very good at sports and everyone is a little bit afraid of her. But we sat together at Mr. Parker’s class and she is actually really nice.

Step-gran says that dad is being erratic again, he was searching her whole house for something this afternoon.

I like being an older sister!!! I don’t know why Liam was so annoying about it, he just says that it’s annoying to have been an older brother forever. Which is also a thing that Liam would say, because it’s so hyperbolic. I just became an older sister now and he became an older brother when I was born, like Hannah was, he hasn’t been an older brother forever!!

Dad told us that we were going to play a game today and he had us stand in the corridor, next to the picture we took when Hannah was born. It was a weird game, because we stood still for a moment while he looked between us and the photo and then he took off running. I read this line in a story once and it was really cool, but what dad did wasn’t cool because he just left us standing there. I asked mum if the game was over, and she just sighed and set said that our father (that’s dad) has been weird lately and we should go play with Hannah.

But when we got upstairs, she was just reading quietly and Liam laughed and said that she would do better than me at school next year if she kept up like that. He must really hate being an older brother!!!

Dad hasn’t come home until now, and I’m going to go to bed, but at least we played dolls with mum and Hannah.

I slept over at Arabella’s last night and when I got home, dad was very weird. He told me that I needed to pack a suitcase for a couple of days, because we were going on a trip. Of course, Liam was being annoying about it, saying that he was going to see his friends, and now dad was ruining his plans.

And mum told him to stop nagging, that others would be so happy to go on a weekend trip, so why not him? And he said that yeah, okay, fine, and he went to pack his suitcase. Hannah had packed hers already, but it was mostly a giant teddy bear that mum had to wrestle off her hands.

I asked dad where we were going, and he just said “far away from here” but then I think he realized how scary this sounded, because he smiled and winked. Maybe he was bluph bluffing.

We have been driving for so long now, and dad is not bluffing anymore, he looks scared, because he says that we keep going in circles, we have been passing from the same spots over and over. He says that he will stop using the map and just ask as us to say directions at random, because it can’t get worse at this point. And it’s almost midnight!! I don’t think I have ever stayed up this late!! Liam is sleeping, but mum looks really worried, because we just did the same route again.

Dad asked Hannah for directions just now, and she keeps saying right and left and she just sounds more confident than she looks. We must have reached a dead end, because on the other end of the street is just this very bright red light that keeps

And then there was mum and dad downstairs and they looked very happy and they said that they had big news. And then dad pulled something from behind his back and it was four tickets to the new theme park that had just opened down the street!! It was crazy!! Because Arabella always told me that I should stop being so scared, and just go, but she is so good at sports and everyone is a little bit afraid of her. But we sat together at Mr. Parker’s class and she is actually really nice.

And then we went there and it was amazing!! But when we got back I couldn’t find my pajamas and mum says that I need to tidy my room more, because when I pulled them off my drawer, a picture of a little girl fell out. It kind of looks like me, but as a baby, so I think I did it for Mrs. Bennet’s class. But I think Liam put it there to call me a baby for being afraid to go on the big funnel.

Anyways, I can’t wait to tell Arabella tomorrow!!
