Sad Drama Romance

This story contains themes or mentions of suicide or self harm.

She lived in a town where the gossip is faster than the Wi-Fi. Everybody talks, everybody gets high to make their days go faster. Needles on the ground waiting to be stepped on. Even though there are sharp boxes on the door of every apartment. Battles about who owns what street, or who is the biggest dog. Who is two faced and who it's not. People who sell drugs and people who take drugs or both. One of the worst places to live in the city. But like any other town there are also nice people with a gentle heart. That would do anything in order to keep the town straight and clean. Like the man that called the ambulance.

She left a letter that said "I know" she left it on the kitchen bench for her husband to find in a black envelope. She licked it with her saliva full of red wine. Her husband had an affair with her dear best friend and now she was pregnant with his child.

As the waves splashed and spiraled around, she could only just feel it on her feet. The waves were big blue and intimidating. The rocks were so close now and so was the edge. It was dark and cold, and she was in a dress. It was flowing just under the knee. If the water doesn't kill you the rocks would. She wondered about all the things that would happen if she jumped. If she would regret it on the way down. The cliff was huge, and the light houses light was on. Shining it's yellow light out to sea for all the coal ships to come in.  As she stared at the ground she climbed over the railing not a soul in site.

In his eyes he had done nothing wrong.

Her wrists were slit, and they were open wounds. No bandage or cream just open, ones that would leave scars. Before she arrived at the ledge, she took a packet of Panadeine forte and drank down her anti-depressant with red wine. She was swaying now.  She slipped and she fell and landed on the rocks. Her body was broken every single bone in her body was broken but somehow, she was still alive. Her intention was to die.

She closed her eyes and hoped that the waves would wash her away. Then she saw a very bright light but not the one that takes you to heaven. Her body gave in, and she was so cold the coldest she had ever been in her entire life. The light came closer and closer it was police rescue. Sirens in every direction to help save her. Even though she didn't want to be saved.

There must have been some one there watching. She passed out when they put her on the stretcher. They handled her gently up to the cliffs edge and into the ambulance. Sirens beaming. Racing to the hospital.

She was now a paraplegic and had to have a wheelchair at age thirty-three. Her arms were covered in betadine and bandages. Everyone would stare at the sight of her. But she refused to let them worry her. She didn't want them to see her in such a bad state. The whole town had heard about what she did and why and taking pity on her. She was on the front page of the local newspaper. So, everybody knew about it. One of her Neighbours left a homemade lasagna it was her favorite. But she couldn't eat it by herself, so she just didn't eat. She was as skinny as a rake. Weighing just forty-eight kilos. A size six and unhealthy size six.

A very strange man came and knocked on the window of her room. She thought he was a nurse at first. He looked at her and he had a very sad face on. Tears in his eyes.

"I called for you. I've been waiting in the waiting room for you and searching all over I am the light house man."

She thought it was creepy at first but then she thought she was blessed at the same time. Even though she wanted to die. She shook his hand in agony from moving her arms too much. He let go because he could see how much pain she was in.

"Thank you." Were all the words that she could say.

She closed her eyes and went to sleep. He left.

The nurse came in shortly after.

"Mam, your husbands here to see you." She said not knowing what just happened.

She turned around and ignored her.

"Should I tell hm to leave miss." She asked with a confused look on her face.

She turned back around and said " No.".

" Sorry sir but she does not want to see you."

He barged passed the nurse and ran straight in to the room. Took one look at her and lost it. Immediately. She turned around trying to ignore him. He grabbed her by her arm then she started screaming in pain. The nurse called security. Two big blokes came running in and grabbed him by each arm pulling him off her. She fell out of bed and screamed even more. The nurse rushed in and got to her level on the ground picked her up and lay her back in the bed. She was hysterically crying. In pain and despair.

She could hear him screaming down the corridor.

She thought "It's finally over, no more beatings, no more yelling."

She'd been sick ever since she found out about him cheating. He psychologically tortured her for years. Locked her in the house with no keys. The end of a horrible chapter. Freedom. Peace. Friends and family. She ended up living with her aunty her cousins would help her day in and day out. Her aunty and Uncle had love like no other. She wished that she could be happy just like them. Justice served.

Ok you’re an amazing writer I should say. I write from the heart. When I read my own stories they make me see part of me in them. My life has been dark so most of the time I weep when I read them in entirety. At 35 I committed suicide from this dark abyss of alcoholism. It had taken me somewhere I could not escape. I was bulldozing my life on my own with no brakes. To read your story I felt this same emotion of having a tough time with that frog in my throat. When I awoke I was 2 days in a hospital from the entire bottle of Adavan mixed with...

Oh my love! Your comment moved something in me. I felt you're words of pain. But I'm glad your still here. You keep pushing on okay. It's not your time to go yet. You have a gentle kind hearted fragile soul. If you need anything don't hesitate to let me know. Even if it's a friend your seeking. Thank you so much I hope your day is filled with smiles 💗

I liked how your were vague throughout the beginning before slowly adding a litter glimmer of light to such a sad story. I liked the title too, great story.
