Eye

One evening a man, who lived in a hillside village with his family, went to his neighbourhood and knocked the door. After ten to fifteen times knocking there was no answer. But the man was knocking the door until he got the answer. He waited for the answer. But there was no reply. His curiosity became to his fear after one hour. Then he gathered some people to break the door to know what had happened. People broke the door, then they saw that a woman who hadn't her left eye sat in an armchair. The woman who was one eyed looked like a ghost in the room. The room was filled with dust and spider's nest. It seemed that the room was not opened by anyone for a month. There was a messy smell in that place. The insects included cockroches, ants and bugs were eating the woman's dead body. There was some unwashed cups, plates and bowls in the basin. There was a letter which had written by the woman before a month. In that letter she wrote that she wanted to know about her son, who had left her before fifteen years of that event. She stamped that letter and waited for the morning to post the letter, but her death did not wait for her and took with him by a heartattack at 9pm that night. The people who found the woman, they immediately called to the ambulance. After ten minutes the ambulance reached and took the deadbody for test. After the test they sured that the death of the woman had happened before one month by a heartattack. The house was never opened in that month because everyone had a fear to see the one eyed woman and she also had no relations with her neighbourhoods for long times.

She had a only son who worked in city. She was widowed so there was no person to live with her. She mostly spent times in gardening. Her garden was her food basket. She lived by the garden's earnings. She was very poor because her husband had left her after one year of her son. Then no one helped them. There was some savings which she spent in the education of her son. In that time she also lived with the garden's earnings. The woman and the boy never saw a electric bulb because of their poorness . After her son's primary education, her son went to city for higher education by his scholarship. After that he never saw her mother. The woman sent a letter in every month to her son. But there was no reply, in that time the woman waited for her son's answer. After some years a postman had come and said that the address was worng, which she had written in the letter. After that the woman sent letter in various of addresses with the thought that she will find her son in this big world. After five or seven times like this the postman found that the woman suffered with the love of her son which bound to blind her. So he never anything to her. The man who lived in her neighbourhood ,came that night for answer ,he wanted his money back. The money had loaned to the woman for the higher education of her son before ten years. The scholarship could not fill the donation of the school so it was done by her mother. The woman gave money to the man in every month. The deadbody of woman was buried in her garden by the local people.

The woman's son from his seven yearsage hated his mother too much. The reason was her eye. She looked like a ghost so the boy wanted to introduce his mother with others. Her mother never minded it. The work of her son was very hilarious to know. The little boy called his mother as his mother. He never slept at her mother's side and never talked to her as a son. These happened because of the woman's eye. After the death of the woman, one year later a man come to that village to buy some lands to make a farm. The man who lived in the neighbourhood of the dead one eyed woman, went to the man and asked for the money, he had given him as loan before. The man was astonished and said that who the man was. Then the hillside man asked the name of the man. The said his name. Then the hillside man asked him that if he had a one eyed mother. The man said that he had but the mother had no more before ten years. To listen this the hillside man shocked and said this was that village where the man born, the time made that like that and the man's mother died by heart attack before one year not ten years. The man asked the hillside man why he was waiting him. Then the hillside man said that when the man did give his loan. Then the man gave him the rest loan amount. After it the hillside man saidthat he was waiting for the answer, then he got that, but his mother had waited for him and died then they buried her in the garden of their house, so he could took the rest things of that house. Then the hillside man saidgoodbye to the man and went to his house.

Then the man went to his house and saw a broken door which was broken by the people. He entered silently and saw the dust full tables, armchair and bed. Then he turned to the kitchen with a torch, there was only wasted vegetables by insects and some unwashed cups, plates and bowls. After it he saw a big box, that looked like a royal box. That box was his father's memorial gift to her mother. Then he opened it and found some books, letters, a watch and a doctor's report. That report included the name of the man and had written that his right eye was destroyed by an accident which had to replace with a new one. Then the man was touching to his right eye and thought that wasn't it his. Then a letter he found that his mother had sent to the doctor. That letter included that his mother wanted to donate her left eye to her son because who couldn't earn averagely for living how could she afford the donaer's fee. Then the man who threatened her mother and never saw her after he became rich because of that eye which was given him by her mother,that eyes filled with tears of shameness and apologiness towards her mother. Like this the man got her answer which he had waited before why her mother was a one eyed.
