Staaaay TRASHY!!!

The screen, once black, was lighting up with the press of a button. First blue, then quickly changing to an ad you’ve seen for the millionth time, something about the new presidential vote you were dreading. When finally, you begin to hear the familiar intro, like an old friend, to your favorite show, Second Chances. As a memory of doing this when you were a young child, waiting for your favorite cartoon to finally start flashes through your thoughts, while the ad that was talking about why US citizens need guns, all reasons being stupid and pointless, suddely ended, and you hear the show start. “helllllLLLLLOOOOO Ladies and gentlemen from across the world, i welcome you to the self proclaimed Trashiest show on TV today, second chances, where we delve deep into the couples who want to try a second chance!!!” you hear the canned audience cheer, rolling your eyes at the corniness as always, and turn your attention back to the screen, eager to see who the newest couple is.

 “AS you all know,” the show's host declared for the millionth time, “we will be introducing a couple with a, ‘rocky’ first go, and help the couple through what went wrong and whether or not they can have a second chance!!!” he said with a sly grin, tho you wouldn't know it unless you had seen it many times before. “Today's contestants are long time high school sweethearts, EDITH AND ROGER!!!!” (Edith, who was  a petite girl with warm skin that glowed and eyes that pierced through your soul, smiled at the host as he said this, while roger, an guy with the most amazing hazel eyes anyone could see, looked awkward and held back, was almost wary of the host.)  and  This sweet couple who have been MADLY in love since they were teens, recently broke up over an, *ahem*, alcohol induced rant where our dear lad Roger not only called edith a HAG, which is a HORRENDOUS thing to do,” (at this roger started to look skirmish, making you smirk)  “but that he was thinking about getting together with ONE OF HER FRIENDS.” (he looked even more uncomfortable at this, which was deserved) 

“Now, let them introduce themselves to us!!! First, ROGERRR!!!!” (who went pale, obviously not wanting to have to go up first, with edith smiling smugly) “uuuuhh, hi, im Roger, and yes, i did make that mistake, but i'm hoping w-we could talk out our differences and become better people. I love Edith a lot, and I hope she can forgive me for my small mistake.” (at this, you're surprised. in these situations the worse one usually stumbles over their words more) “and now, EDITH!!! Come up here and explain why you wanted you two to come onto this show!” said the host, and with an almost catty smile, she steps up and confidently says, “Hello Will!!! It's a HUGE honor to meet you, especially with your success rate for helping couples like us” (probably actually talking about the success rate of destroying the bad ones future relationships) “Roger is my one true love, whom i would always leave secret love letters for, hoping he would find me through my handwriting and little clues, even tho, let's be real, i was practically pointing huge neon signs at myself” (she says with a soft sounding laugh) “with that being said, the words he said truly hurt me, and i'm not sure i’ll be able to forgive him for a long time, but i hope this clears the air and lets me be with him and forgive the man i love.” as you stare at the TV, you catch an almost devilish look across her face, and suddenly you knew why she was really there. The host, whose name is Will, has a, certain way, of digging out juicy secrets and embarrassing the contestants, one by one, causing girls, guys, and any others to convince their rude, mean, terrible, cheating exes to go on the show, with either teh reason of wanting to get back together, or only to clear the air, though it's really to expose the cheaters and too ruin any future relationships they might try to have, which you love so much, watching people tremble as words are coaxed out of their mouth,only because of someone's sheer skill at being charismatic,with the power of being like an old friend whom you can share anything with, even your deepest darkest secrets.

As the show goes on, with Roger digging himself into a deeper and deeper whole with Edith grinning with glee, we hear of stories, which Roger tells of him making out with other girls, even since their first date, Edith just smiled like she knew. Even you were wary about how far she went just for revenge. For most people, that would weird them out. But you? You were THRIVING at the maliciousness you wish you had, even though you had no one to force it onto, having all your relationships, family, friends, your partner, be amazing and wonderful, and while you ARE grateful for all of them, the evilest little part of you still wish you could do something like Edith, like Mark, like Alex, and all of the others to come before them. 

The episode ends with Edith looking like she had reached inner peace, Roger looking like he had made the biggest mistakes of his life, and with the host, Will, having his usual smile, as he says goodbye to herself and her many other followers, and goodbye to the contestants. ‘“ so long!!! And remember, you can always get a second chance if you truly love each other. Staaaay TRASHY!!!” and the show ends. As you look at the screen, and where an ad had started playing, you hear a voice from the kitchen. “Hey honey, what would you like for dinner???” you walk over to your partner, Parker, and smile. “Oh, I don't know, anything you would like.” and with a peck on their cheek, you begin a mindless conversation, awaiting next week's victim.
