Horror Sad Thriller

"By the time I stepped outside, the leaves were on fire" .... everything was, burning. I looked around. The entire city was burning. I ran, to my house. It was gone my home, my belongings, ...my life gone burned to ashes and dust. I screamed tearing through the burnt walls and door ... searching frantically!!!

"MOMMY" a voice behind me shouted. I turned and ran to my three year old daughter and scooped her up.

"Why are you here by yourself, where is your nanny?!!!"

" I not know mommy"

Buildings everywhere in sight were encased in a thick layer of flames.Holding my daughter I run, as fast as I can, away from the burning city.... turning to dust. We finally reached a river where we sat down and drank as much as we could. All the while I sat watching my daughter cough and choke on ash. I finally made her drink some water. Night was coming, fast. With the night brought a storm.

"We need to get away from the river honey" I soothed to my only daughter. We walked away from the river. I laid my daughter down on the ground and gathered sticks to make a teepee. Then I stuffed it with grass, leaves, twigs, and anything else to stuff into the cracks of the small shelter.

When I woke up it was still dark, my daughter still sleeping,

"Miley, Miley wake up" I gently said as I picked her up and went out of the teepee. I layed Miley on the grass next to me and took the teepee shelter and made a small fire out of it. Miley smelt the smoke and arose crying

"Mommy, we back, WE BURNING." I said

" Shhh, Miley we are not back calm down,Shhhhh."

Meanwhile miles away on a farmland a woman says to her husband

" Look, The Big City is..... Burning?"

Miley falls back to sleep, I cradle her in my arms.I stand up and began to slowly walk North, for help. "Oh Miley" I whisper "if only you knew, if only you knew."

Walking North was the hardest thing to do especially since I must carry Miley most of the way. Hours passed and it felt like days. Days passed and it felt like weeks. Time just wore by until, finally, we reached the north.

Then instead of teepees I dug deep into the snow, and catching, cooking , and eating fish. It seemed impossible but here we where , the Northern Tribes territory, my birth place. Only they could help Miley, I knew. We entered the small village, everyone stared at me, Miley wrapped snugly in my arms. I knew where my father lived, the center of town. I found lots of little shops with hides and meat for sale. I bought two thick hides with all the money I had saved from the house, no money was left, not even a penny. I reached my father's house at last. I wish I could say I was happy to see my father but I wasn't, I had left him, so I could go to the city and find my place in the world.I knocked and my dad answers the door....

" Umm,hi,um......Rachel"

"Oh, Um hi dad", it was a very awkward moment, for both of us.

" What are you holding", my dad said

" Umm, my......daughter", There was a silence that I thought would kill me, but it didn't.

"A WHAT?"In that moment I thought my dad WOULD kill me.

"It is my daughter dad, you know YOUR grandchild. She has..... Silis"

Dad's mouth fell open in a straight arch.

Hoarsely he whispers,looking around,"Silis?"

He gestures to go inside. Inside I sit down and Miley wakes up

"WAAAAAAA, WHERE ARE WE" she cries. Gently I soothe her

" Shhhh it is alright", I say, gently stroking her head. My dad reached out his hands and I, unsurely, handed him Miley. Dad stood up and placed a whining Miley on a blue marble table. As soon as Miley made physical contact the stone began to glow.

"EEEEEEE LOOK LOOK, lights mommy lights", Miley says.

My dad whispers " You were right Rachel she does have Silis"

"Miley" I say " Please put your fingers in the handprints" She did and the house began to shake and tremble. A dark stairway appeared. " Mommy I scared" Miley climbed off the table. I pick her up and I grab a unlit candle and bracket of the table

" Lusty" I say, the candle ignites with bright flame. I walk towards the back room of my father's house to a cedar chest filled with icy weapons and armor. I search through the armor and find a small chestplate for a dog and slid it onto Miley and I tightened a small belt onto Miley's waist and slid a small pocket knife into the concealed pocket, where Miley can not find it. I put the smallest( still overly large) helmet I can find onto Miley's head and set her on my old canopy bed from childhood and began to search through the cedar chest for my own armor. I find a golden chestplate and a bronze helmet and chainmail leggings. I look into my old dresser and find some wool pants and a long- sleeved vest.

" Dad please leave the room so I can change now"

"Of course", He leaves and I quickly change into the clothes and struggle into the armor. I open the door and find my dad standing there dressed in matching silver armor. I go to the bed and pick up Miley. Dad lights a candle with some old matches and together we head into the dark dark stairway. After what feels like forever we emerge out of the passageway into a natural underground cavern. I could hear rushing water. I set my candle on the floor and tied Miley onto my chest using some old cloth. I picked the candle and held it up. It was a large cavern with a colossal underground lake, the water black as midnight. As we grew closer to the river the candlelight could not be seen reflecting, nothing could.

"I suggest we make camp here but farther away from the lake, it could be dangerous"I said. We set up camp with stuff packed into some bags we brought. In my bag there was a small tent, one sleeping bag, an assortment of granola bars and water bottles. In my fathers bag there was another sleeping bag canned cooked fish preserves, more water bottles, extra lanterns and candles, matches, and fur cloaks for all three of us. We set up the tent and spread out the sleeping bags in the tiny tent. It was small and warm though and would provide a safe shelter for Miley.

I layed Miley down inside one of the sleeping bags and went outside. I walked around the tent in a large circle and sprinkled a red powder around the tent and whispered over and over " Protectus Redverse" I went inside the tent and fell asleep next to Miley and my father feeling more scared and more happy then I have ever felt in my life...
