Her POV:

I wonder how he's doing. We haven't seen or spoken to each other in a whole year. I wonder what he looks like right now. I wonder if he's with someone else. Has he thought about me this past year? Does he miss me? Does he wonder if we'll meet again, the way I do? I can't stop thinking about him. My mind is consumed with thoughts only regarding him.

His POV:

It's officially been a year since I've last seen or spoken on to her. But I'm okay. I've moved on to a happy life. I've missed her, and I still do, but I've learned to live without her. I've learned to live without constant pain. There are days that go by that I don't think about her. Those are the best days. I feel free on those days. Like nothing can hold me back or put me down.

While I think about my happy days I get interrupted by my loud phone ringing. I reach for my phone on the coffee table and look at the caller ID:

'Babe <3'.

"What could she be calling for so early in the morning?" I wonder. I accept the call.

"Hey babe, whatsup?" I say softly.

"Hey baby." She kind of slurs tiredly.

"Are you okay? You usually aren't up this early." I voice my concern.

"Oh don't worry about me I'm fine. I'll be awake after drinking some coffee." She chuckles. "Anyway! The reason I'm up so early is because I'm packing. And I called you to do the same thing." She explains with a yawn at the end.

"Packing? For what? Where are we going?" I question her in confusion. She doesn't say anything. "Babe? You there?" I hear a thud and a whine. I laugh at my adorable girlfriend. I can imagine the pout on her cute lips as she whines from falling.

"Babe answer my question. Where are we going?" I say after calming down from my fit of laughter.

"Right." She says, "We are going to the beach! You know my friend Charlie? He owns a beach house on the beach like 3 hours away from the city here. And he's inviting us to spend the weekend. Some others will be there too. Including his new girlfriend!" She squeals in excitement as if she wasn't tired anymore. "So you need to pack. I'll be over at your in the afternoon so we can leave. It's going to be so much fun! And I can't wait to meet Charlie's girlfriend. I saw a picture and she's so cute!"

After our conversation we end the call and I start to pack.

The afternoon arrives faster than expected and we begin to make our way down to the beach house.

Her POV:

I'm pulled out of my thoughts when I feel someone's weight on my lap. I sit up on my bed and see-

"Hey Dollie. Are you feeling alright. You were kind of just staring at the ceiling while I called your name." My boyfriend says, concern lacing his tongue.

"Yeah, I'm fine babe don't worry." I reassure him.

"Well, if you say so. Anyway I was calling you to let you know Jessica and her boyfriend are on their way now. Jessica is really excited to meet you."

My boyfriend wanted to spend the weekend at his beach house with some friends and also introduce me. One of his best friends, Jessica and her boyfriend are coming this afternoon. His other friends already made it here this morning. I honestly don't want to be here. Today isn't the right day for me to put up an act and be friendly and lively constantly. My mind's too occupied by him. My mind is too consumed in guilt.

"Okay. I'll get ready now." I tell with a forced smile on my face, which doesn't go unnoticed by my boyfriend.

"Hey babe. If you aren't feeling well you can just stay up here. My friends will understand." He voices softly with a soft frown upon his features.

"No babe I'm fine really. I'm just tired." I reassure him. I feel bad if I don't participate tonight. My boyfriend has been looking forward to introducing me to his friends for so long. I can't let him down like this. I get up and start to get ready for the day.

After I get ready I make my way down stairs into the sitting area where everyone including my boyfriend is. I kiss my boyfriend on the cheek before walking into the kitchen. I hear the doorbell ring so I go to open it. Must be Jessica and her boyfriend. I open the door to see a girl with blond hair and tan skin, wearing a white romper. She looks at a little confused at first and then,

"Omg! Your Charlie's girlfriend right?" She smile brightly and I return the smile.

"Hi, yes that's me." I chuckle. "So you're Jessica?" I ask and she nods her head.

"Where is you're boyfriend?" I ask.

"Oh he' taking a while since he's carry our bags. He's such a gentleman. He insisted on carrying all our bags. We almost got into an argument about it." She laughs. She's cute. I think we'll get along. I show her inside.

His POV:

I huff while trying to walk and carry my girlfriend and I's bags. I should have let her help. Damnit.

Well it's too late now. Why did we park so far away. Too late to complain now. I'm almost there anyway.

After a few minutes I finally make it there. I put all the bags down and ring the door bell. As I wait for someone to open the door. I bend down to pick up the bags again.

When I get up I freeze.

What?

Confusion and shock. On both our faces.

"Emily?" I ask with clear confusion as to what she's doing here.

"Caleb?" She asks with the same confusion.

We both just stare at each other in shock and confusion for a couple few seconds. Maybe 8 seconds.

Her POV:

I can't believe what my eyes are seeing right now. There's no way this is real. He's here. He's here? But why?

I feel arms snake around my hips and see Jessica give Caleb a kiss on the cheek. That's when things start making sense. Caleb seems to have figured it out too.

"Come on babe come in. Why are you just standing there?" Jessica ushers her boyfriend- Caleb, inside.

"Emily, meet Jessica and her boyfriend, Caleb." That's when I remember my boyfriend's hands on my hips. Holding me close to him.

"Caleb, meet Charles and his girlfriend, Emily. Isn't she so cute!" She says to Caleb. Caleb still looks in shock, and honestly I still am too. He just nods. It gets a little quiet and awkward, so I decide to break the ice.

"It's nice to meet you, Caleb." I extend my hand for him to shake. For a few seconds he just stares at my hand, still in shock. He snaps out of it and shakes my hand reluctantly.

"Nice to meet you too, Emily." He says.

My heart almost explodes. I haven't heard his beautiful voice in so long. I missed it so much. The way he says my name with his voice sounding sweet and smooth like honey. Caleb turns his attention to Charles and extens his hand,

"Nice to finally meet you charles. I've heard a lot about you from Jessica." He says with a cute grin, that makes him look like a bunny.

His POV:

I can't believe this is actually happening. Jessica pulls Emily away while, Charles and I have a conversation. I just hope Emily doesn't say anything to Jessica that could ruin my relationship with her. I'm glad we pretended not to know each other. I want to forget about the past. I don't want to remember that time. It ended a year ago. It shouldn't continue now or ever again.

I could see the sparkle in her eyes. She was happy to see me. I can't really say the same. I missed her but I'm happier without her. But now she's my girlfriend's best friend's girlfriend. We are bound to see each other sometimes. And knowing how my girlfriend, Jessica can be like, I might have to see her even more often. Jessica befriends people so easily. It's just how she is.

We spend the rest of the afternoon resting or sleeping. I wake up around 8 o'clock. We're going to have a beach party tonight, so I start getting ready. After getting ready I walk down the hall to the bathroom. When I open the door to the bathroom I get pushed in. I almost fall but I catch myself holding on to the sink. I turn around, ready to give out.

"Yo what the hel-" I freeze.

It's Emily.

"What are you doing?" I frown after realising the small space we're in.

She shrugs her shoulders, looking at e with lust filled eyes. "Nothing. I just wanted to tell you- no, show you... how much I missed you." She whispers sensually while moving closer and closer towards me. My back hits the shower door and I have no where to go. I'm trapped. Why is she doing this? She has a boyfriend and I have a girlfriend.

Her POV:

I move closer and closer. I'm going to make him mine again. Hearing Jessica blabber on and on about what an amazing boyfriend he is made me think. What if I could get him back? I missed him so much and I'm sure he missed me too. At first he might think he doesn't want this but after I remind him of the times we used to have, he'll know what he wants. And it will be the same thing I want. Us.

I continue to move towards him until his back hits the shower door. I trace my finger on his cheek, down his neck, on his chest. My finger moves down, lower and lower. He grabs my hand. A heavy frown upon his face.

"What, are you doing?" He growls lowly.

"I told you baby. I'll show you how much I missed you. It's been a while, hasn't it?" I lean up quickly to kiss him. He pushes me away.

"Stop!" He shouts now. Fuming with anger, he storms out the bathroom and back to his room shared with Jessica.

Charles walks out our room looking confused from all the ruckus.

Why was he so angry. Did he not miss me?

Here for the critique circle :) Interesting! I sat up when I read that jolt of words "When I get up I freeze." Well done, especially for a first submission here! Two things. One, I don't think you need the "His POV/Her POV" because you use italics already. Two, you should probably give more indication of why she wants him back, not just Emily's bragging. It's not quite enough motivation. Also... what's the ending? Why stop there? It's like there's no conclusion! What happens next? Anyway, grammar's pretty good, dialogue's nice and na...
