THE MYSTERIOUS BOOKSHELF

Like everyday, on the streets of Cianna, 14 year old Clancy who was a zealous skater was skating towards her house. On the street she was halted by her nana who conveyed to Clancy that there was something peculiar going inside her house, which can’t be explained. “Ok fine, I will be visiting you for a sleepover to see what's going on,” said Clancy.

 After reaching her house , her dad asked her to get ready for the bakery Drive . 

During the drive Clancy accidentally dropped an expensive Flower vase.

“Oh my god! Clancy, what have you done! It was such an expensive flower vase.” shouted Clancy's dad. “I am so sorry ,it was by mistake. I had no intention of doing so.” said Clancy sorrowfully.

 She was extremely embarrassed by her dad's behaviour . She went crying back to her house and she texted her dad for the sleepover with Nana.

On the way she almost had an accident with a black car. The person sitting inside the car said “tell your father ,his loan of 25000$ is pending or else.. .” She went back running to nana's house.

After reaching her house, Nana and Clancy were eating dinner and then the light started blinking, music started playing on speakers, the drawers were continuously opening and closing in the kitchen. "What in the world is happening here!!!Oh my god! My house is haunted!” said Nana. She was shaking like a leaf.

Then smoke diffused in the whole house , Nana and Clancy collapsed in a minute. 

After an hour of that chaos, Clancy slowly opened her eyes, she was terrified and Nana was still feeling dizzy and was in a huge dilemma.

She had texted her friends to meet her in the garden's clubhouse.

Before going to bed, Clancy began calling her dad as he had to go on a business trip after the drive. He wasn't picking up the call. “I think he must have slept,” murmured Clancy to herself.

TRING-TRING! ringed the alarm which woke Clancy up. Clancy was worried as her dad was neither picking her call nor answering her texts.

After reaching her home, she quickly took her skateboard and went to her friend's house.

The quintet gathered at their garden’s clubhouse . “Hi, Clancy what happened we just got your text so we all gathered here” said Kaylie , she raised an eyebrow and narrowed her eyes. 

“There is something strange going on in Nana's house and I have no idea what it is,'' said Clancy. 

"Ok then we all will go to your Nana's house at night to see what's happening” said Ronald.

They all had arrived at Nana's house. In a warm room Kaylie, Ronald, Alexa, Clancy and Harry were sitting on a cozy brown couch and discussing their school assemblies when the same incidents happened which were seen yesterday. All of them were horrified and scared .They were confused about how could this happen.

The next day, they all came to Ronald's house to find the solution to these strange activities. All of them were confused towards these activities. Everyone except Clancy believed that ghosts are behind all these things and the house is haunted. Clancy was curious to find the reason behind all this, so they all went to their school's chemistry lab , by taking permission from there chemistry teacher and experimented with anything which was related to that smoke.

By mistake Harry smelled the oil of nutmeg which caused him the same dizziness which was caused by that smoke in Nana's home. 

“There is no ghost, somebody has put nutmeg oil which contains myristicin which causes dizziness,” said Clancy. She smiled and laughed as she had cracked the mystery of the smoke.

 They all ran to Nana's house to check the air conditioner which diffuses air inside the whole house. Finally, they found a pipe connected to the air conditioner. Near the air conditioner there was a bookshelf, Alexa was standing against the 3rd shelf.

Alexa’s hand pushed the 5th book of the 3rd shelf and then a door to an unexpected room opened. In the room a person was sleeping on a small couch. 

All the dots got connected in that small room .In the room there were some strings attached to the kitchen’s drawers ,which when pulled can open or close the drawers, by using internet access we can play music on speakers . So that is the reason behind the strange activities.

 After seeing the person in the room , Clancy was smart enough so she immediately called up the police. As soon as the person got up , the police arrested him. They said that the person had ran away from the prison. “I know this man! He robbed 30000$ from my house, so I got him arrested,” said Nana.

“Why did you acted as a ghost in Nana’s house?” asked Kaylie 

“I wanted to take revenge for my brother. He was also with me during the robbery , he suicided in the prison.” said the frustrated prisoner.

The police and the prisoner went back to the police station.

They had solved the mystery but still Clancy was worried about her dad as he wasn’t answering her calls and texts . The quintet went back to Clancy’s house. They found a note by a person stating about the abduction of Clancy's dad, they also wrote a location and the amount which was to be given to the person to get Clancy's dad back .

On the bottom of the note it was written “driver of the black car” immediately it clicked in Clancy's mind that the person with whom she was about to have an accident also had a black car.

They took the money and went to the location and got Clancy's dad back.

After reaching home Clancy and her dad apologized to each other for the bad behaviour at Baking Drive. “I am sorry dad for breaking that expensive flower vase at the drive.” sighed Clancy 

“I am also so sorry for acting that way.” said Clancy’s dad. 

They all went back to their daily routine...
