Adventure Christian Friendship

Stay awake

Be alert

The answer is right in front of you.

Hope.

I know. I know. Some of us run for the hill at the mere thought. And. so did Clue-y. Clue-y was getting tired, exhausted even.

He tells us for our hearts to not grow drowsy. Cluey does, run for the hills, in moments of despair and fear and worry. Instead of patiently awaiting for the Son of Man. Clue-y runs in circles, like a hamster on a hamster wheel and instead of productivity with a cheerful heart, he runs himself ragged. When justice is not handle properly in the first place it can take years and tears of guilt and frustration to iron out the details of the guilt and frustration.

Lies. Insidious ways of delay and instant gratification all rolled into one giant wart. Encouraged growth of warts upon warts. Add a dash of savvy spice and the deceit turns into a mountain of explanation with very little truth and substance.

What to do?

Listen. Carefully. In times of trial, He tells us to keep our hearts light and awake.

Clue-y doesn’t always listen, doesn’t always hear the cues. Clue-y’s experiences include some so called contemporaries who did not have Clue-y’s best interest at heart. Contemporaries bogged down by the events of the past easily become gripped by anxiety, weighted down by fear. Won’t admit to their own faults and failings, so they pass on the mess not realizing they have been blessed.

Instead they,

Ignore His messages of faith, hope and love.

Jesus. says “Stay awake.” Turn one’s grace toward heaven. “Stand erect and raise your heads.” (pf)

When you make a fist. It makes your heart work harder. Doesn’t sound good, does it? It is good. Real good.

A light, free heart. Not crushed by sadness. Boulders of weightful anxieties and worries. Closing in on ourselves. When Clue-y does not hear the clues, he is filled with heartfelt blues. Thus rendering any human incapable of extending a hand of grace and forgiveness to another who has perhaps wronged an innocent heart such as is Clue-y.

We ALL can extend our hand of forgiveness. It is a safe bet that not one person completely and wholly understands another human.

Clue-y discovered that is why we are called “ human.” When the fight becomes the battle both outward and within the soul is when the storm brews angrily, bitterly. Then.. Nothing gets done. Roadblocks appear everywhere. Just because humans disagree doesn’t mean life is bad. Opinions? Everyone has one. Some may seem more logical than others to others.

When we pretend to be super human or have it all “together” is when we grow further apart and more bitter. Picking sides, taking a side becomes the only plan, our only way to operate. In our hearts we demand to be right. There are hints, clues and cues along the way. Some are presented to others in a manner of the playground bully: “Hey, you wanna play with me?” Alright. “Then ya gotta do this, this and this.”

Then. Maybe you can come on my playground ‘o fun. Ugh. Play by my rules. Not His. Ya gotta look the other way when the going gets tough. Thems are the rules on my playground.

Well. Clue-y discovered that even if and when life does work that way……. he ain’t playing those rules, not playing with the devil. Finally, when he listened with his whole heart and mind and soul. He knew.

He knew.

Who really had Clue-y and his back.

The Son of God was the man who had his back all along. All Clue-y had to do was listen with a happy heart. A cheerful can do attitude. With a giving-ness with regard to all things good and true. Today marks a season of giving. A particularly focused season of giving. Clue-y decided to really pay attention and see what it was all about.

Stay tuned. To a life of beautiful giveness and forgiveness! The rule?

Pay close attention.

Because although everyday is a gift, not every lesson learned is one. A gift that is. Life lessons have a way of turning up when we least expect it, least want it. Rendering on our knees wondering what just happened. Hurts, habits, hang ups (tc) come in all shapes and sizes causing vulnerabilities to pop out of humans in a moment’s notice.

The power of suggestion is a powerful vice. In the game of life of ups and downs, power trips and other knee capping tricks of the trade. Insidious moments of power tripping and knee capping sound fun to you?

It did not to Clue-y. The cues may have been there. Naïveté can be the sincerest form of honesty. Some folks actually do not think ill of others, and desperately try to,

Do no harm.

At the end of the day. What are we looking for?

A sign?

A hint?

A answer?

Slang expressions and versions of “Get a clue” exist all over the universe. Clue-y knew of personal harms toward others, even in the most savviest of ways, and chose to look the other way not in an attempt to hide from the truth. Clue-y reached a point in life, that with the childlike beauty of a pure heart, he learned from Him to extend a hand of grace. Even if and when Clue-y wasn’t sure he liked the other person, or wanted to play on the playground with ‘em.

Get a clue?

Looking for a clue?

In the end is it all the same meaning?

Not specifically. Not really?

He gives us all we will need everyday. Some folks hurt way deeper down than others. We should take their feelings not with a grain of salt, but with a mountain of hope and love that one day will be the day we see another smile with the knowingness that He has our back, has had it all along.

Humans are flawed. No excuses. In this new season and spirit of giving, why not choose to give of our best selves and put the anxieties and hurt to Him.

Believe. And you will receive His unending grace to not hold on to your hurts, so you can help another let go of theirs. (lk).
