A Bloodcurdling Experience

It all started on an extremely awkward day. I awoke groggily and glanced at the window against my bed. I was taken aback when I saw the view outside, the sun setting in the far distance, just over the horizon. Still in sleep mode after this immensely long nap, I headed towards my bathroom to freshen up, still not believing that I almost missed the whole day. When I was brushing my teeth while staring at my twisted and tangled hair, I felt a sharp pain in my lower lip. That is when I lowered my gaze from my terribly messy hair to my teeth, to gape at a pair of enormous fang-like teeth, baring back at me. I washed my lip, which stopped the bleeding. In a fraction of a second, a strange thought came into my head. “Am I a Vampire?" But I brushed it off, thinking that my toothbrush had scraped the lip. But oh... How wrong I was...

I walked down to breakfast. (though it was almost Dinner). Everyone was seated at the table, enjoying the aroma wafting up the stairs. " Good Morning! Where were you? We've been waiting. You look as white as a sheet!" my mother exclaimed, as she looked up from the stove, directly at me, and the thought again flooded through my brain. I felt sick as my stomach lurched. I, somehow, held myself back. After dinner, I ran back to my room and surfed the internet about vampires. All the details matched to what I noticed as odd about myself. I decided not to tell anyone. I was dying to let the cat out of the bag to my parents, but I couldn't. Why will they believe an 11-year-old boy who finds horror and fantasy novels interesting, if he claims to be a VAMPIRE? The next night, I couldn't sleep, because I was a vampire... and they stay up the whole night.

I heard a clattering sound downstairs in the living room. I tiptoed through the stairs to investigate and was startled by two men dressed in tuxedos, appearing a few inches from my face from nowhere. The two people introduced themselves and told me to pack whatever I had in my ownership! Surprised and annoyed by this, I asked them the reason to why they were telling me to do what they said. They explained to me that they were from a different place, where people like me stayed comfortably. They told me they were taking me there because I couldn't hide from humans, as I lived in a human family.

They laid out their plan in front of me. They were going to transport me and my luggage (everything in my whole room) to the place they were talking about earlier. They told me that they were going to make my family oblivious of my presence as if I never existed! I took a reasonably generous amount of time to decide and reluctantly agreed to their offer. They headed towards my room, muttered something and the entire contents in the room belonging to me, just vanished into thin air! They again muttered something and a faint wisp of blue smoke surrounded my brother's eyes and he stirred in his sleep. They headed towards my parents’ room and they muttered something, again, and the same smoke from before surrounded their eyes, and their memory of me was wiped from their brain. I headed down to witness my images slowly fading away from any frame on the mantelpiece. My first birthday, our trip to Niagara, my achievements, me and my parents, etc. I couldn't hold back my tears. I didn't exist anymore!

They took me down to the kitchen, where we headed towards the backyard door. This time, they shouted out, some unintelligible word, as I was lifted off the ground, by an unbelievably strong invisible force. I landed on tarmac heading towards a skyline surrounded by a very dim light. A special place, like an asylum for teenage humans who turned into vampires. A huge, cloudy dome suspended from an invisible point above provided the whole settlement light.

We headed towards a tall skyscraper, that reasonably looked like The Freedom Tower, only taller. The two men trotted into the elaborately furnished atrium of Freedom Tower 2.0. I had to run to keep up with them. We three boarded the elevator, which took me to a floor named "HUMAN-VAMPIRES". I was escorted to ROOM 62442. The golden door opened a modern world, reminding me of the warmth of my room. As tears of remembrance welled up in my eyes, I still saw the opportunity to start a new life, if not human. My luggage was waiting in the centre of the hall. I poked around my new house and found a luxurious 1BHK apartment customized to my liking. The two men left me to my privacy, assuring my comfort. As I rested on the plush blue sofa, my daydreams of new life were perturbed by a light knocking on the door. A woman in a white, clean, concierge uniform entered with a tray of tea. She sat on one of the ottomans and served me tea, asking permission to start a conversation. I showed interest in her introduction, as she described the place I was in. I learnt that I was living on a planet with an Earth-like atmosphere, called Phoebe, in the Andromeda galaxy.

Phoebe was specially made for vampires. The planet was not a sphere, it was a disc, like a shield. We had only moons, not any sun. They were: Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Aphrodite, Athena and Persephone, female Olympians from Greek Mythology. We also had a school for people in my state, to learn vampiric ways and control our bloodthirsty hunger. Our planet was situated in a solar system especially for mythical creatures: werewolves, wizards, unicorns, chimaera, you name it. Tired, I proceeded to the comfort of my huge bed and awaited the following night.

I awoke 6:30 p.m. on the dot. As I got dressed in my sharp school clothes, I looked out the window just in time to see the light get dimmer until there was almost only darkness. I spotted the old castle amid all the vampires, which, apparently was a school. As the stone statues welcomed me into the Great Hall, I saw another boy of my age looking just as disoriented as I was. We became fast friends and proceeded to our allotted lessons according to our timetable.

As I lay on my bed, I awaited the arrival of the next night, dreaming about my future as a vampire.

Imaginative, but needs more clarity in the details. Some grammatical and punctuation errors. Over all interesting, and could become a larger story.
