Simon's Griffin

Living at the Asheville, North Carolina mountains, Simon, the young man walks towards his house on top of the hill. The house is built with a pyramid structure on top and solid stone walls. He walks towards his house passing over a stream on which a wooden bridge is built.

When he crosses the bridge, he notices a large gated entrance to the left and a small steel door to the right. The voice controlled large steel door opens with a creepy sound ”creekeeke” when he said “Open the Lab. Yeah it his favorite place in his house for making his experiments on electronics and robots. Simon loves spending his whole time at his lab and forgets his sleep to work on different experiments.

Simon is a young, talented scientist, with engineering skill to convert his experiments in to realistic usable mechanical projects with an aim to make these projects useful for everyone. He grew up with his parents with lots of confidence and after their demise he moved set up his house with his skills. He set up the lab with all the latest mechanical systems and materials which he can create for any sort of requirements, right from defense to useful products.

On a December, morning, Simon went to the deep forest admiring the nature and its beauty. There he found herds playing and eating the berries and leaves around a small beautiful pond. The pond was clear fresh water reflecting the orange color leaves of the smoke tree and pink flowers of the Crepe Myrtle. It was a beautiful scene and made Simon forgetting the whole world looking at the herds and their fawns playing near the pond. For a moment he thought “I should grow a deer as pet at my house”.

           Suddenly, birds on the tree, started flying making creepy sounds and the herds did not move for few seconds, before they could realise that some stranger is nearby. A white leopard popped out of the bush and started running towards the fawns. The leopard focused on one fawn and started t chase it. Having notice the danger all the deer ran with great fear and speed. The Stag of the fawn being attacked by the leopard, has a long and strong antlers. These antlers grow on to the deer’s skull throughout its life. The stag realised that it as to distract the leopard to save its fawn. The stag ran ferociously and punched the leopard with its strong antlers. The sudden attack by the Stag darkened the chances of grabbing the fawn, but the forceful leopard got back to its shoes after stumbling the chase. It increased its speed and jumped over to perfectly catch the fawn on its neck. The poor Stag observed from the long distance only to see the leopard carry its loved baby. After watching this terrific chase and the attack, Simon took his centrefire rifle and shot at the leg of the leopard. The bullet bruised the legs of the leopard and out of fear it ran dropping the fawn. Simon picked up the fawn and realised it is still alive but hurt badly by the leopards stronger teeth.

           Simon took the fawn on his Black Swan Jeep to a veterinary hospital near the town. After administering the medicines through injections, the baby deer came back to life. The fawn back to the spot were it was picked but could not locate its herds. So decided ti grow this fawn. “Griffin” is the name of the fawn and thought it is a beautiful, powerful and majestic creature. No one will agree that a deer is powerful and majestic creature but beautiful one. Simon decides to make it more powerful and majestic, The Griffin. After a couple of months of training, Griffin became extraordinarily active and intelligent. Simon could train Griffin ,like another human being giving instructions to follow and started to execute simple instructions to opening doors, switching on appliances and opening the garage using the mobiles.

The next December came, and it was again the winter season. There was heavy snow fall everywhere down the hill and it was difficult for people to go around. Simon sat on his wooden bridge with is Griffin enjoying the snow fall wearing the winter clothes. Suddenly he saw a tree falling on a house with people getting trapped down the. He jumped on to his Black jeep and flew away to the spot. He had plenty of mechanical tools, saws, Axe and first aid kits on his jeep. There were few people trapped in the house, with the help of a neighbor he started cutting the trees and his tools and used his robotic miniature crane to lift the logs. After two hours of struggle, Simon saved four people. By this time the ambulance reached in time to help the injured to get treatments. Everyone thanked Simon for his heroic help with his great equipments. That was the time it flashed to Simon “Griffin”. He knows that snow leopards roam around looking their prey.

Griffin, is a smart and intelligent fawn. It learned great deal of instructions from its master. But it could not understand why Simon left suddenly. Looking for him it started moving down the hill and it lost its way as the snow completely covered the roads. Searching for Simon it went into the forest. After running for long time it reached the same place where it lost its herds. It could recollect the previous incident of attack by the leopard and it went chill all over its body. It was looking at the pond which was almost frozen. There came the terrible thing to the Griffin.

The leopard was waiting for long time and carefully looked at its prey, the Griffin. It started slowly moving towards Griffin without making any noise, while Griffin was lost in its thought of losing its parents. The leopard took careful steps towards Griffin, with a such concentration for not losing the prey this time. It stood in the position for an hour unmoved.

Simon took his jeep and drove it at great speed towards the home. The day light was going down and the visibility was fading every minute faster than the sun rise. When he reached home, He realised Griffin is not there. Simon thought for a while and reversed the jeep and started driving towards the pond in the forest.

           The leopard was ready to pounce on Griffin and with fierce power, it jumped nearly twelve feet to reach on Griffin. While jumping, it raised its right leg which had strong nails and opened its mouth to catch the fawn on the neck simultaneously and hit the fawn. For a second it did not know what happened? .and the leopard broke its teeth and nails with huge pain on its legs. Due to crashing on the fawn and the snow there was dust everywhere and nothing was visible for some time. Then the leopard saw the Griffin unmoved and unhurt by its claws and legs. The leopard was bleeding and in pain it started running. It ran a far distance and turned and looked at the fawn, where the “ Griffin” Peeped out of its artificial armour through its neck and stared at the leopard. At this time Simon reached the pond and noticed the attack of the leopard. Having defended its pet fawn, he felt happy. The technology he used in creating the realistic Iron Armour was a success and felt happy for creating a powerful and majestic creature LIKE A Phoenix bird.

Simon says, it is not the end but beginning of a “Griffin” and will Griffin unite with its herd?
