I looked into the big huge mirror in front of me. I wore a long (but not too long) sequin dress. Everytime I moved they would dazel from the light. The small little light bulbs on the sides of the mirror lit up my face while I applied the last bit of makeup. As I pretended to be the next fashion runway model, I heard my phone ring.
“Oh my god!” a voice came through the phone. “You look so good! I’m on my way by the way!” It was my best friend Katie. I rolled my eyes and propped my phone up against the mirror and the table so she could see me. The facetime of her was pretty blurry on my end so I couldn’t see her as good as she could see me. I smiled while applying a juicy red lipstick. “What are you wearing tonight? Think you’ll meet anyone handsome?” I smirked. “Ugh I don’t know. You know I’m not as good as you are with that type of thing.” she replied while turning the car wheel. I could see the street lights turn on as she stopped the car. “I’m here!” she said simply and hung up.
I hurriedly finished my lipstick and touched my hair making sure it was perfect. I then sprayed a bit more perfume and ran out the door. As I ran across my front lawn, I heard screams from inside the car. Of course. “You look so good.” Katie said while rolling down the window to get a better look. I smiled and did a whirl which unleashed more excitement from my friend. I’m glad to have a best friend like her.
We sped steadily away from my dim lit house and onto the main road. “I love your outfit Katie. Really such a steal.” I say. She returns my statement with a smirk. “Not as good as youuuu.” We both laugh and turn the music high while letting the wind from the open windows take us away.
I know that I can't take no more
It ain't no lie
I wanna see you out that door
Baby, bye, bye, bye...
Bye, bye
Don't wanna be a fool for you
Just another player in your game for two
You may hate me, but it ain't no lie,
Baby, bye, bye, bye…
We sang, well, practically yelled the words as we drove down the highway. Once the song ended, it was quiet for a moment. It was a nice night, warm on your skin while the wind from the open windows flows through. “Do you have your ID?” I asked. She nodded. “Why wouldn’t I? Don’t tell me you forgot yours.” “I didn’t.” I replied while flashing it at her. The car was silent again until finally another song came on.

We arrived at the party a few minutes later. My long, blonde, curly hair went around my shoulders contrasting Katies dark brown, short, red dress. We walked side-by-side towards the house that is already blaring with music and people jumping around. The front door opened and a good looking blonde boy stood, his hand on the doorknob, in a tuxedo. I came up to him and gave him my ID. “Sorry only girls over the age of 21.” he said with a smile and gave me back my ID. “Very funny.” I smiled and waited for Katie.
Different colored lights lit are faces. The house was hot and full of different levels of drunk people. Some people were laughing and talking with their friends while others were drinking and dancing. Katie held my hand and we pushed through the crowd of people, occasionally getting dumped into. Occasionally asking someone; “Excuse me” but having to yell instead of ask. Sometimes I don’t know why I come to these parties but I’m glad to have Katie by my side. I can tell she’s nervous as we approach the bar. We sit down and ask the bartender for some non-alcoholic drinks.
“Seen anyone good looking yet?” she winked. “Only the guy at the door.” I said while flipping a piece of hair behind my face. “What about you?”
At that moment she looked a bit uncomfortable. I’ve never seen my best friend look so weirded out right then so I turned away to give my attention to the drink infront of me. We spent the next 5 minutes talking aimlessly about things that don’t really matter. Since the bar was close to where most people were dancing, some guys caught my eye. Most we’re my type until I saw the boy from the front door. He stood at the end of the bar just watching people dance. I honestly wanted to go over there and ask him to dance but that seems desperete and a pretty girl like me shouldn’t be doing the dirty work. Katie caught my eye and giggled. “I’m going over there.” “What do you mean? You know I like him.” I say trying not to sound too desperate. “For you silly.” I felt a releve come over me and nodded. I watched my best friend walk up to him and start talking. “Another one?” asked the bartender. Swiftly, I turned around and nodded yes. Ok, maybe I was a bit nervous so I looked down at the table just incase his gaze went toward me.
Right before the bartender began giving me my drink, everyone in the party stopped. The music went off and the lights went dark. What is going on? Then I heard it, police sirens. Quickly, people from all over scrambled to the nearest window or hid under the nearest promising thing. I dashed toward the window until I realized. Katie. Where is Katie? I turned the corner but the front door was already opening. Out the window or get caught!! I fled for the window and jumped out without a second thought.

I hid in the bushes behind the house. A perfect place to find a beautiful girl like me. I rolled my eyes. This is ridiculous. The police were at the neighbors probably discussing the complaint and to keep an eye out for anyone stupid enough to get in their car yet. Oh that’s another thing. I don’t have a ride home because Katie is god knows where and shes got the keys to her car. I wonder what happened with the cute guy from the front door. I smiled at the thought of his joke.
Although thinking of him was nice, all I want right now is to go home and sleep in my warm bed. The sequins on my dress are starting to dig into my skin and my heels are bending in the dirt. Not to mention how many bugs are probably crawling on me. Ew don’t think about that.
After practically sleeping in the bush (which was really like 2 hours) the police left. Everyone came out from there spots with a sigh of relief. I stood and dusted all the grime off me. Now all these hot guys are going to see me a reck. Great.
“Dude that was crazy.” a guy said walking swiftly to his car. “God I know, I wish I took a video of the police pushing down the door.” another guy said. “Oh come on, you guys are blowing this way out of portorion.” a girl beside them said. I shook my head and headed to the black car that was Katie’s. To my surprise the car was already on. There was Katie in the car… laughing? Then I saw him. The boy from the front door, in my seat… making her laugh. I felt tears come to my eyes not only because I liked the guy but that my best friend betray me. Katie caught my eye and her face instantly fell. That last thing I saw was my best friend drive away from me at a crashed party with a cute boy that I liked first.
