It was the end of summer and Clara was moving into her dorm. It was always her dream to attend the famous Yale University and it was finally that time. After a complete shock of being accepted by this wonderful University she waited nervously, but yet so excited. It was finally the day that she was going to go move into her dorm. She packed all her things up from home and headed over to New Haven. After many hours of traveling she had finally arrived. She had to go look over her dream campus before settling in and unpacking. She was just completely in shock. I mean Clara knew that the campus was beautiful from pictures but to just experience it all first hand makes everything complete. She visited her department and while walking around and getting a feel of the campus she saw this handsome guy in the corner of her eye as he rounded the corner. They cross paths, but Clara keeps her head down because she is more of a shy one. Her personality is more shy and reserved. Clara hasn’t always been the one to be very outgoing and easygoing. She heads back to her dorm to finally unpack. She arrives and meets her new roommate Eve. They get along very well and Clara seems to like her very much. She was very nervous about who would be her roommate. Although they had just met Clara’s first impression of Eve was good. They seemed to have similar personalities. It was the first day of school and Clara was very excited. She heads over to her department and walks into her first class. She is majoring in Food & Nutritional Sciences so with this being said she will be in the Agriculture department. Her first class of the day landed on a Monday and it was college health. She walks into her first class and you wouldn’t believe it. She runs across the same guy she had seen when she was first visiting the campus. Clara sat in the far back of class so he couldn’t see much of her. Again she walked through the aisle with her head down. This was something new for Clara. With this being said she had never been the one to ever get nervous around boys let alone like them. SO this feeling was new to her. Class had gone by very fast. As much as she wanted her attention to be solely focused on her professor, it wasn’t. Clara heads back to her dorm, but it wasn’t soon before the guy from class stopped her. You can tell he was just trying to make little conversation because he says, “What dorms do you live in” of course hoping it would be somewhere close in proximity to him. Clara blushes and gives him a smile. His name is Luke, he is light skin with beautiful teeth and eyes. Now I see why Clara fancy’s him. He has those eyes you can just fall in love with just by staring through them. Anyway back to the point. So Clara finally responds and tells him she lives in the south side of the apartments. He responds by saying “Oh wow we can walk back together, I live just across from them”. They walk back with just a little conversation asking where each other and from and how they got to Yale University. Turns out it was always both of their dreams to attend this college ever since they were young. Clara felt like she had to live up to the expectations of her parents while Luke just had the motivation and determination. Not that Clara didn't but their situations were somewhat different. Luke dropped her off at her dorm but it didn’t stop there. That night all Clara could think about was Luke. He was that type of guy that left a long lasting impression. Good impression! After completing some first day of school worksheets and whatnot she opens her window and walks out onto her balcony. This may sound like some fairytale and quite cheesy, but there Luke lied across from her on his balcony. They were just as surprised to see eachother but it was clear that they had developed this connection and they wanted to get to know more about one another. Their conversation was intriguing. Although they were surprised to see one another they both had known that they were both thinking about one another. It was an instant spark, like no other. Talking about family, past memories, personal experiences and more. They talked about this school year and the expectations they had set for themselves. This one night wasn’t the only night they had conversations late at night on their balcony it began to be a pattern or even routine. After showers and homework they would go out on their balcony and give each other company. SImple conversations turned into vulnerable conversations. Telling one another things that had never told anyone. Their relationship grew fonder. They became each other's best friends.Freshman year began to come to an end and Luke had finally asked Clara out. It is crazy to think that their relationship started from late night balcony talks. I’d like to say that this relationship wouldn’t last because it started from a balcony but it did and they have become each other's best friend. They have grown to like each other very much and their future should be a good one. From meeting their freshman year of college at Yale University they got married a couple months after their graduation in 2024. The night before their graduation he proposed on the other side of the balcony. It was so unique and elegant. It was quite lovely and he made it a point to say that their love started solely on a balcony and that their love will go on forever as they love and cherish these moments and late night conversations together. They made many great memories and they both can agree that their story is one that they will eventually be able to tell their kids one day.

Hi! I loved this story. I just had one thing to say: There were some parts in the story where you switched from present tense to past tense, and past tense to present tense. You should usually try to stick to one tense. Other than that, I loved this! Great job :)
