It was the end of a long school day. Girls and boys of ages fourteen to eighteen were packing up their bags for the end of the day, ready to head home and relax. However, in the Broadcasting Room, two teens were bickering about an interesting topic.

“So, Sakura my beloved-” A boy with short red and black messy hair was sitting down and writing on a piece of paper, probably trying to finish up his homework.

“I never told you to call me that, Natsuhiko.” A girl with short, tame lime-green hair was tuning a radio, probably trying to listen to music. She had an aloof expression, and seemed quite bored.

“Ah, yeah. Sorry, my be-” Natsuhiko was about to speak, but Sakura slapped his cheek, in which he winced in pain.

“Didn’t I tell you to stop calling me weird names? You do realize that I don’t love you?” Sakura scoffed and continued to turn the knob on the radio.

Before the two could finish their work, the bell rang, and the sound of feet pacing on the ground was right outside their room. Sakura stood up and grabbed her backpack that was sitting beside the radio and gestured at Natsuhiko before opening the door and leaving. Above the door was a medium-sized bell that would ring whenever the school day was over. The bell was quite old and at any given point it could fall on someone, and if it hit someone’s head, it was game over.

Natsuhiko pushed his seat backward and grabbed his backpack before swiftly reaching the exit of the Broadcasting Room. However, before he could open the door a sharp yet sudden pain was felt on the top of his head, and he fell to the floor. He couldn’t keep his eyes open, so he did the only thing he could; close his eyes.

Natsuhiko could hear the pleasant sound of birds chirping and singing their pretty songs, which immediately reminded him of his beloved Sakura, and Sakura immediately reminded him that he got knocked unconscious. He jumped awake and observed his surroundings. The floor was made of a white, fluffy substance, and felt like a warm blanket when touched. The sky was a cyan color, and made him feel safe. But most importantly was the rich golden escalator in front of him. Everything in his head clicked, and he realized what happened.

“I-I’m dead.” Natsuhiko began to panic, chewing on his fingernails to try and calm down. He eventually stopped chewing his nails and stood up, dusting the clouds off of his pants, and trotted over to the escalator, and stepped on one of the moving step plates.

He could see angels flying in the sky so peacefully, like birds after they had been freed from their cages. Maybe Heaven wasn’t gonna be so bad. But he still wished that maybe Sakura would be here.

Once the step plate had reached the top of the clouds, Natsuhiko stepped off and examined what was in front of him. He could see the pearly gates, standing tall and sturdy, and in front of it was a girl with large, magenta eyes and light cream hair that faded into a soft teal green. She was also accompanied by a short boy with choppy black hair that was covered by a black hat.

“Hello there, Natsuhiko! Welcome to Heaven!” The girl smiled at the teen, and Natsuhiko’s heart instantly tightened. This girl was so pretty, it made him want to bow down to the goddess. But he had to stay loyal to his one and only.

The short boy began to check a list, but he frowned and poked the girl, as she looked down at the list and frowned as well.

“I’m sorry, Natsuhiko, but you aren’t going to Heaven.” The short boy now showed Natsuhiko the list, and it didn’t have Natsuhiko’s name on it. He was breathless. What did Natsuhiko do while he was living? He didn’t murder anyone.. Or did he? He might’ve murdered someone while he was sleeping, he had no clue.

“Goodbye!” The boy now pulled a lever, and the clouds beneath Natsuhiko’s feet suddenly disappeared, and he began falling down. The scenery changed to a crimson red sky, with no angels flying around. He heard a sharp thud when he reached the bottom of the pit, and he was greeted by a boy with pink hair that was covering his right eye. He looked somewhat happy to see Natsuhiko.

“Hello there! Welcome to your worst nightmare, Hell!” The boy snickered as Natsuhiko frowned, and then stood up, dusting the dirt from his pants.

“W-What did I do wrong?!” Natsuhiko began to panic. He didn’t want to live in a fiery nightmare realm filled with murderers and pedophiles!

“I can’t tell ya that. Only Satan can.” The boy now grabbed Natsuhiko’s hand and began dragging him. He pulled a lever and the gate to Hell opened, as Natsuhiko tried digging his fingers into the dirt, but to no avail.

He could see Imps with rotten apples in their mouths, being chopped in half, and then the other halves of them would be manufactured as apples, and the cycle would continue. There were people being tortured left and right in separate torture chambers by a demon with spiky black and white hair and spider-like legs, and he was worried that he might be one of them soon.

The boy now dragged him into a dingy elevator, and began spamming the up button about twenty times before the door closed and the emo boy sighed before leaning on Natsuhiko.

The silence was killing him, and he couldn’t help but just say.. Anything.

“H-Hey, what’s your name, kid?” Natsuhiko rubbed the back of his head nervously.

“It’s Mitsuba.” Mitsuba just looked at Natsuhiko and the two never said another word on that elevator.

A distorted, small ding could be heard, as the elevator door opened. Inside the room was a cluttered brown desk, and sitting at that desk was a short boy with choppy black hair and a black hat. He looked very similar to the boy up at the gates of Heaven, but with a darkish-purple kimono instead of an old high-school uniform.

“Hello, Natsuhiko! Welcome to Hell!” The boy grinned at the high-schooler and Mitusba pushed Natsuhiko out of the elevator, and the elevator suddenly shut behind him. Natsuhiko felt as if there were nine-thousand eyes staring and judging him, but he had to question Satan.

“Uh, excuse me, sir! There must be someone you’ve confused me for! I really don’t belong here, I know you’ve heard the tune before!” Natsuhiko pleaded for innocence, trying to convince the demon to be let into Heaven.

“Eh.. No.” Satan smiled devilishly, and Natsuhiko’s heart sank. He was breathless.

“B-But why not?! I cleaned up any litter on the ground, I was so nice to Sakura-Chan, even when she verbally assaulted me, I even tried to save kittens on the streets! So why am I here?” Natsuhiko was on the verge of tears. He did everything to obtain a spot in either Heaven or in someone’s heart, but he ended up in Hell.

“Simple, Natsuhiko. You’re a whore.” The boy giggled and then snapped his fingers. Suddenly, a guard with spiky blonde hair and light cyan eyes walked over to Natsuhiko. He was holding some sort of trident and poked it gently at Natsuhiko’s back. Suddenly, a sharp pain shocked the teenager, and he began shaking violently, as lighting protruded from the trident. While he was screaming in agony and shaking on the ground, he could see the young boy chanting his name. However, the boy sounded more like someone he knew. Natsuhiko closed his eyes in pain.

“Natsuhiko! Natsuhiko! Wake up, Natsuhiko-Kun!”

He groaned as he felt someone shaking him. He slowly opened his eyes and grimaced. The lights were very bright, but there was someone looking down at him. It was a woman with lime-green hair, and a nice pretty cream-colored dress. She had a worried expression on her face. There was a sharp pain on his forehead, and when he rubbed his forehead, he felt a slimy liquid. When he examined it.. It was blood.

“Natsuhiko-Kun, what happened? I came back to the Broadcasting Room because I forgot my homework and I see you in a bloody mess.. How many fingers am I holding up? Do you remember me?” The woman held up her two hands directly at Natsuhiko’s face, and he stared at her hands in confusion. He knew the answer, but it was.. Taking a bit of time to reach it. Everytime he got close to the answer, it would slip away like a mullet.

“It’s.. thir..teen?” He responded very slowly, still trying to process his answer and exactly what happened. Wasn’t he in Hell two minutes prior to this? He remembered being electrocuted by a demon just before he had seemingly been teleported here.

“Also I.. Don’t know you are..” Natsuhiko giggled like a drunk old man and the woman gasped. She grabbed Natsuhiko’s hand and pulled him upward.

“Don’t worry, Natsuhiko-Kun. We’re gonna get you a teacher, alright?” The woman sounded somewhat worried, and yet she looked so familiar.

“A-Alright..?” The teen tried walking over to the radio on the table, but he felt like he was walking over his own feet as he fell down on the floor with a thud. He slowly muttered ‘ow’ before his eyes felt very heavy.

“Natsuhiko-Kun, are you alright? Natsuhiko?!” The girl bent down to her friend, and Natsuhiko relaxed his muscles before drifting off into sleep.
