Mythic Troubles

Missy stared at herself in the mirror as she dressed up in her favorite witch outfit. She used to be the average run of the mill vixen, who became a real witch. At first, she was hungry for power and battled with Priscilla to become the coven leader. Finding a phoenix, she tried to get the girl to fight for her. It was obvious that she wasn't made for fighting.

Her thirst for power ebbed and she became more interested in making plays. She tried to get her boyfriend to do them with her, but he seemed to see her less and less. She could see her relationship with him was going to head for disaster. She decided to stop seeing him and move on. He didn't seem to care since he really been seeing someone on the side, so that is why he hadn't been around much. It seemed good she didn't become too attached to him.

So she tried to do the plays by herself, using illusions for the different parts. She was a social type, so being alone didn't really suit her so well. She was ready to meet someone who was more interested in her than all of the other men she had met.

It seems men were interested in her, because she was confident and good looking. Most of them just wanted her in the bed, and didn't want to interact with her otherwise, but she wanted love not just that. The only guy who ever didn't want that was her last boyfriend, and it seems he really just wanted her as a fling and not something serious.

She sighed. “What about me makes guys not want to be serious about me? Is it because I like to play? I guess I sort of need to grow up and stop doing these childish things if I want someone to like me.” she plays with her hair, frowning. Would she become the woman wanting power again?

She was done getting ready for the day, and headed out feeling glum she had to be a whole different person in order to get what she wanted. She didn't really want to give up her plays, but it seemed just modeling was the better way to go. Thinking about it, do guys think of models as serious girlfriends? They were just eye candy. Maybe she would have to go in a whole different direction. She was lost in thought when she bumped into a fox man. “Oh sorry! Guess I was thinking too hard!”

“It's fine, but I wonder what is on your mind to make you run into people.” he chuckled

“I just want a serious boyfriend, but it seems to get that I have to be a totally different person than what I am.” she sighed

“Hum, it seems that you meet people who really don't see the true you, and understand you to me. You shouldn't try to change yourself for love, but to find someone who will be who you need.” he nodded

“It seems impossible to find! Everyone is wrong for me. I think they are right at first, then they end up being a disappointment. It's so frustrating!” she sighed

“I know the feeling. Uh, this may be bad timing on my part but...um would you like to go for a coffee? I would like to get to know you better.” he looks at her seeming nervous

“Sure, why not? I like you so far.” they went to a cafe together, and she told him about how she went from model, to a power hungry witch, to a peaceful type who wanted to do plays.

“Those plays sure sound like fun, I wouldn't mind doing them with you. If you are open for that.”he offered

So they did plays together, and she had a far more fun time with him then the other guy. “Oh Tom, I really enjoy being with you so much, you make the other guys I dated pale in comparison..”

“You are lovely, creative, and fun. Just like I wanted and more.” he said hugging her.

Then, suddenly in the sky was a cat girl riding a lightning bolt and a dog boy with wings. They gaped a bit, they had heard of the superhero duo that had been rumored to be descended from Greek gods. “Luna and Stanley! What is happening?”

“We need help. We were brought here by your powers.” Luna said landing

“I can see she is powerful. But, really I am not worthy to be chosen by you.” Tom said sighing.

“We are a duo Tom, even though I have powers and you don't doesn't mean you are not worthy.” Missy hugged him. “So what is the trouble?”

“Loki is causing some strange magic incidents happen, and we want to know why he is doing that.” Luna explained

“Wait a second, he is actually real? I though the rumors you two were descended from Greek Gods was just a story.” Missy stared in disbelief.

“Yes, it is real and you two are descended from them too according to these artifacts.” Luna throws a bow and arrow at Missy and some winged sandals at Tom.

“Hum a bow and arrow? Am I a daughter of Athena then?” Missy studied the arrow.

“Whoa Hermes sandals, I actually have powers? I always thought I was ordinary.” Tom put the sandals on grinning.

“I knew you were special.” Missy smiled

“That is actually Cupid's bow, and not much time for messing around we need to find out what Loki is up to.” Luna took off. “This way to the last place we saw trouble.”

“So what was the trouble?” Missy asked as wings sprouted from her and she took off into the air.

“Well it seems like reality broke and everything is topsy turvy.” Luna said sighing.

“That doesn't seem like a minor thing! How do we know Loki won't cause reality to change so we don't fix things?” Tom said, gasping.

“He didn't change reality, but he set things up so it would happen. So you don't have to worry about that.” Luna explained

“Oh good, I was worried we would have to go on an endless journey of trying to fix this.” Tom took a breath

“Here's where it happened.” it seemed to be a simple family house

“Um, are you sure? It doesn't look odd or anything.” Missy flew around it looking for any clues of why it happened

“It is a reality change, doesn't mean it is stranger. This used to be a castle.” Luna looked around humming.

“So, things became more mundane then they used to be?” Missy frowns. “How boring!”

“It seems that things became bad for these certain people, it seems Loki doesn't like them for some reason.” she shrugged “I have no idea why...”

“Hum, well we may not ever understand that unless we meet them?” Missy then went over to knock on the door.

A woman answers the door, she looks like a busty cat girl. “Uh yeah your not someone crazy are you?”

A blue woman with four arms sighs. “Thomas, don't be rude. Uh I have to say we usually don't get visitors unless we mention a god's name. You all don't seem familiar.”

“Oh really what gods usually visit you?” Luna asked, interested.

“Usually one named Vide, he seems to dislike Thomas because of this whole competition Thomas held.” The blue woman said

“Ugh don't even mention his name!” Thomas groaned.

“Hum I wonder how Loki relates to this Vide person, maybe we should find him and talk to him.” Missy pondered

“I never heard of Loki, but I known so many of those guys I lose track of them after a while.” said Thomas

“I see, well we must be going.” They all leave.

“It seems this Thomas person attracts all sorts of Gods, I wonder what is about them that makes that happen?” Luna wondered as they go.

“Somehow we have to find Vide, they said just saying the name attracts them so I guess it wouldn't be too hard.”just then a bear man with red hair appears

“Yes you called for me?” The person, whom must be Vide asked.

“Just wondering if you know Loki.” Luna asked him

“I am aware of him, my brother hates him because sometimes he plays tricks on him.”

“Hum, what does he have against your brother?”

“Well he hates magic, so having him play magic tricks on him makes him very mad. Loki also tries to pretend to be me, so he kind of irks me more since my relationship with my brother is already rocky.” he grumbled

“So would Loki do things just to make you mad? Like messing with these people? Are they special to you?” Luna asked

“Ha, I hate Thomas! I don't care if anyone messes with him. His family is OK though.” Vide chuckled

“Do you have any idea why Loki would hate Thomas or his family?”

“It wouldn't surprise me if Thomas ticked him off somehow, he seems to kind of have an abrasive personality. I am surprised anyone could stand him to marry him to be honest.” Vide shrugged

“Hum still no answers.” Missy sighed.

“I am not sure what to do, we may not be able to fix this reality shift. Maybe we can at least stop Loki from doing this so much somehow.” Luna frowns. “We need to talk to him.”

“Well I can send you to where he is?” Vide offered. “I am not sure how he will react to you suddenly appearing though.”

“Maybe give him a warning then send us there?” Missy shrugged not sure the best way to go about it.

“OK, well here it goes then!” then, poof they appear in front of a cat girl who looked a lot like Luna but Monochrome black grey and white.

“Is that you Loki?” they all stare at her

“Hum, not quite...I am different now.” she grins. “My name is Solina. I see you have awakened and found me finally, took enough time.”

“I think you should stop causing these problems Solina, I do not understand why you are doing it.” Luna frowns

“We will fight you if we need to!” said Missy

“I just wondered how far I had to go for you to notice I was around, and being a trickster is who I am. I am not really hurting people I made things better.”

“I do not understand how you think changing reality is good! Can't you play pranks at a lower scale.” Luna frowns

“If it wasn't for me, you would still be just a mortal. Don't you think what you are now is better?”

“I would rather be a mortal. Too much responsibility being a god.” Luna says

“I kinda like it though...” said Missy quietly

“Why can't you be more grateful like her, you were always no fun.” she sighed. “Fine, I will make things back to how they were.”

Then, suddenly Missy was back in her old life as being a model and no serious boyfriend. A part of her mind remembered Tom, and wished somehow she could find him. Was he even real now? She counted down the minutes of the New Year, a year alone again. Would things ever be able to be good for her?
