In a cramped room, a single man was sleeping soundly not until he heard the sound of thunder. He jolted up sweating profusely and look out of his window where the rain is pouring so loudly.
He sighed before mumbling, "Ugh. Damn it. What a disturbing dream".
He got up and went to the living room. Before he even sits down at his black leather sofa, he felt the ground shake. He immediately went under the table for safety measures and stay there until it stopped shaking. He wondered what if it was an earthquake with a high magnitude so he scooped his phone from his pajama's pocket and search for any news about it. He stopped tapping his phone when it started blinking. He waited for it before tapping again but it shut down immediately.
"Low battery? I didn't forget to charge it. Right?" he asked himself before getting out of the table.
He laid down his phone on it and starts walking towards the window near the sofa. The view outside widens his eyes and to make sure what he sees isn't a dream, he started slapping his cheeks and pinching his arms until his satisfied.
"No. Way. What. The. Hell?!"
Instead of the view of his neighbor's house, what he saw were tall trees. Coconut trees. Instead of rainy weather, outside his window is a sunny one. He can also see animals that you can see at the zoo such as elephants, giraffes, and monkeys. He immediately went back to his room to change his clothes before bravely going out of his house. What welcomed him is the view of the sandy beach.
"Gosh. I think I'm having a headache," he said as he put his right hand on his forehead.
"Excuse me, Mister?" he heard a voice beside him so he turns his head to his right side.
A guy? I think he's around my age. Is he also the same as me? Why does this all felt like deja vu? Anyway, I should calm down and ask a question.
"Who are you?" the man asked him while trying to hide his emotions.
"I'm Shirasaki Ren. Just call me Ren," he replied with a smile. "Do you just arrive today?"
Arrive today? "Yes," the man answered. "I'm Cello Ruiz. Cello's fine."
Ren started explaining to Cello what happened and stopped himself from laughing because of Cello's expression. It morphed from an optimistic face until it stopped to a defeat expression.
What happened to them is that their home got transported somewhere after experiencing an earthquake. Ren was staying for days alone until he saw Cello's house so he immediately runs to see if there will be a key to solve what happened to him.
"A fairy? There is?" Cello makes sure he heard Ren correctly.
"Yep," Ren confirmed before gesturing for Cello to follow him. "I tried communicating with it and thankfully, she can understand me. Same as you," he explained. "As you can deduce from my name earlier and my facial features, you already knew that I'm Japanese."
"Yeah, but I thought that you're too fluent in speaking English," Cello said with a confused expression.
Ren stopped walking so as Cello. "English? I'm speaking in Japanese, though."
"What?" Cello started thinking for a moment before explaining his insight. "So there is something that can make us understand each other even if we're both speaking a different language. Maybe we can ask the fairy about this."
Ren smiled before started walking again. "You're right. But Anne only appears at midnight. So we have to wait at her sacred place."
Ren gave Cello a tour around the island but half a day isn't enough so they went back to their starting point.
"You should take a rest first, I'll make our dinner for tonight," Ren told Cello. "I'm gonna fetch you after preparing for it."
Cello smiled at him before patting his shoulders. "Thanks, man. I appreciate it."
Cello spends his remaining hours in a daze while Ren was preparing their dinner in his house. After setting the table, he sat on the chair with a creepy smile. "Thanks, Anne. He's my type and I think we have chemistry. I'm never gonna get bored on this island with him around."
A light suddenly appeared in front of him and transformed into a small person with a similar look to Tinkerbell. "I'm glad you like it. Do you want me to make sure he gets pregnant? Or no?"
"If you can, go ahead. I'm sure he's gonna fall for me after one week."
The fairy chuckled lightly and flew to Ren's right shoulder. "So what should I say later?"
Ren thought for a moment before answering, "Up to you. Just make it believable. Things can get annoying if he winds up of this. I don't like to make him into an animal like the others."
The fairy nodded. "Alright, but I believe he will be the last one. Just a hunch, though."
"I also have a hunch about it," Ren told her. "The Goddess of Fate told me that she showed him a vision about this one before I transferred him here."
"Really?! Isn't that good for you?" the fairy curiously asked him. "I don't understand why you go through all this trouble. Both of you are already destined to meet."
"I don't believe in Fate's visions. There are too many loopholes which can twist those visions as it happens," Ren explained before standing up. "Anyway, I think he already accepted the reality he's in so I'm gonna fetch him. Prepare for later."
"Understood. Well then, see you later God of Love," the fairy bid before disappearing.
Meanwhile, Cello stopped being in a daze and started to get ready. As Ren predicted, he accepted what was already happened. But, he started to think of the questions he wanna ask the fairy later. He heard a knock after he finishes dressing up and went for the door.
There stood Ren who was standing cooly which made his heart skipped a beat.
"What's the matter, Cello?" Ren asked with a worried expression.
"Nothing," Cello answered while shaking his head. "I just thought you look different from earlier. Anyways, what's for dinner?"
They started talking to each other while walking towards Ren's house. Cello didn't know that everything that happened to him is Ren's work who is the God of Love and that he's currently residing on the island of romance.
