#62: Forward Thinking

Victor, traveled in 2020 together his friend Melissa. He been searching the cure almost 20 decade for Covid-19 pandemic. He dedicated his life to discovered a vaccine for the virus. Victor want to save his precious student who died because of the widespread of the virus. His named is Hero, he is a shy and no friends in a school before Victor came as Volunteer teacher. First the student of him neither talk to him nor to his classmate. One day, Victor plays along with the other kids. While they are happily playing games, Hero quietly watching them in the window.

Until Victor said:

--- Hey Hero! You want to play with us?

Hero quiet shock and don't know how to responds. He just nod his head. So, Victor jumped in inside the classroom and try to asked Hero to play with the other kids. But Hero run away from Victor. That moment victor knows had something problem about that kid. So, after days he try to be friendly and have a little conversation with Hero. Until Hero open-up his feeling.

---You know sir, why I'm avoiding everyone because I feel I'm different to them. I don't feel I'm belong here.

---Why? How can you say that? -- Victor Asked.

In that little talk, Victor found out that Hero father is working in other country, and he feel that his family and friends don't like him either. So, that's why he avoided everyone. That's why Victor has an idea.

--- Hmmm... If that's so, I can be your friend? A brother? or A father figure? If you want Hero?!

---Really?! You can be my friend sir?

Hero been schocked and the smile in his face can't denied that he was very happy about what his teacher said to him. For many months Victor stayed in the area, Hero become more cheerful and friendly to others. He become actively participant in school activities and become of honor student. Victor and Hero become good friends, like father and son.

Until, when Victor been 5 years away from that school because of pursuing his post graduate degree in other country, in same moment, the pandemic outspread globally and many been died because of the said Virus. He tried to contact his dear students, especially Hero but he got a message that he passed away because of the virus. Victor cried out loud in a cold evening. He remember the memories with Hero, when the time they spent a happly moments when he teach him science and mathematics, playing along with other kids, climbing trees, do research and experiments, fishing in river and swim, and sleep over in the Hero's house.

Victor can't stop think why this happening? Why Hero died so young?

He can't imagine that he just died and he did nothing. He can't forgive himself as he promise that he will visit Hero after his finish his post graduate degree. He dream to see and talk Hero after he done his study. And start to questioned God.

--If you are really true, Could you let me save Hero? Just this time? Please!

He did'nt get an answer. But something fall in the table?

---What that noise?

He immediately come near in the table and slowly pick the paper fall in the ground. And as he see it one by one, he remember that this is Melissa's research proposal.

--- Is this was your answer to me?-- a time travel? Huh?

Then, Victor call Melissa to ask that research proposal and talk about the details.

--- Melissa, do you think this is possible?

---Possible yes! Only time can answer that question. What we can do is to do a study and prove it that this is true. That's science mean, I guess?!

---If that so? Would you like to help me?

His been in the Laboratory discuss what they need to do. So, he decide to start seaching the possible vaccine to save people. For years and years of failures, many lives been end almost half of the population been wipe out. For almost 20 decade technology evolved and discovered new things. Melissa, in other hand, a physicst professor discovered those past years to solve the formula by quantum physics on how possible to have time travel. She put her effort for years assisting and waiting Victor to see a cure for the pandemic. She Formulate a device that can transport them in the past. For such dedicated years she been their for Victor and help him to find the cure. For almost 20 years later, Victor discovered the vaccine that can save many lives. He discovered that the virus was a syntethic virus created in the laboratory to cause a global crisis.

After he completed the vaccine, they used to cure few people and then many been cured from the said Virus. On one hand, Melissa already tested her time machine and successfully advance a new technology. Her discovery will help even more to save the world. Her dream to discovered a machine to transport human in other space and time is now concluded. She managed to activate a machine through nuclear and radioactive basis. Melissa quickly used her time machine and successfully traveled back in 2020. But after they arrived, Victor and Melissa see the funeral of Hero. Victor see the mother of Hero's crying. Victor never stop his tears. He loss his hope to save Hero but Melissa suggest instead to give cure to people they must quickly detached the on going plan of the widespread of the virus.

She said:

--- I have a plan, We should go where everything was start about? We should destroyed the virus before it will spread globally! Right? We cannot change anything here and even save Hero if we can't prevent the pandemic. It's better to have prevention than cure. Right Victor?!

---Hmmm... I think so?!

So, Victor eventually agreed to it and plan to distroy the research laboratory where the virus start. After they reach time and right location, Victor start to decode and implant the vaccine. Then, he distroyed the specimen of the laboratory. He manipulate the research papers and formula in a neutral result. He detached the possible of the virus can spread-out in human to human basis. After Victor and Melissa succesfully destroyed the virus and prevent the global widespread of it. Victor decide to see Hero. From the moment he saw the kid happy while in school and everyone have normal life, he can't stop to cry. Melissa been happy also that Victor still crying, not because of saddness but because of joyfulness.

Victor and Melissa back in the future with big smile in their faces. They celebrate on what they did to save everyone. And then, Victor's phone ring and he answered.

---Hello, who's this? Pls!

---Hey! Sir--- it's me, Hero!

The smile and tears in the face of Victor cannot be taken this time. They have start a long chat in that moment.
