Kayla was super excited to spend the whole day with her mother. It was Saturday, her favorite day of the week because it was the weekend and weekends are the days which her mother was off from work. She couldn't wait until her mother would come up the steps with the plans for the day. It was only 7 in the morning so she knew that her mother was still asleep. Before she got up to brush her teeth and pick out her clothes Kayla laid in the bed for a moment and gazed out the window. She heard birds chirping and the wind was rustling the leaves. She laid there and watched each leaf fall off the tree. It was her favorite season. To her it was the perfect weather to play freeze tag. She smiled as she thought how she had became The Freeze Tag Champion. She quickly hopped up and went into the bathroom to brush her teeth. "Happy birthday to you" Kayla sang out loud as she brushed her. Dr. Smiles told her that she should sing happy birthday while brushing her teeth and when she was done singing she was done brushing. A few seconds later she rinsed out her mouth and headed towards the kitchen where she met her mom cooking breakfast. "MMMM.. smells good mom" Kayla said smiling. She was glad to see her mom cooking and not her baby sitter Kim. Kim was her moms best friend who loved to sing KAY-LA WAY-LA as she pinched her cheeks. Kayla hated hearing her sing and hated getting her cheeks pinched even more. Anytime Kayla would ask Kim for anything she would say KAY-LA WAY-LA and then responded and to Kayla it was just unnecessary. Kim was an older lady with pale, curly, stringy hair. She had long pointy fingernails that she painted red and kept red cheap lipstick on her face. Kayla quickly shrugged off those thoughts and quickly sat down in the kitchen with her mom. Jan was cooking bacon, eggs and oatmeal which was Kaylas favorite. " So mom can we go to the park today?" she asked. "Of course, let me guess Freeze Tag Champion right?" Her mom responded with a smirk. Kayla nodded with a mouthful of eggs and bacon hanging out her mouth. They both laughed and finished up their plates. "Lets get ready to go to the park?" her mother stated. Kayla moved quickly, she didn't want to miss her friends playing in the park. She quickly got dressed, grabbed her shoes and ran out the door to get in the car. Before they could pull off, Jans phone rang. "Of course I didn't forget I am just going to take my daughter to the park right now." Jan said before hanging up the phone. She turned on Kaylas favorite boy band 2BOY BLUE and they listened to them the entire car ride. They sang along, did the dance moves at red lights and even made a few Tik Tik videos. They arrived to the park 20 minutes later and were in awe at all the children that were playing. There were kites everywhere, kids riding bikes, kids playing at the playground and even children chasing dogs. It was the perfect day and Kayla was ready to enjoy it. Kayla and her mom quickly got out the car and headed towards the park. Some of Kaylas friends ran up to her begging to play. "Go ahead baby, I will be over there sitting down with the other moms" Jan said assuring her. She didn't think twice as she quickly ran off to play with her friends. They played on the slides, then drew hopscotch on the ground. They then played kickball with some neighborhood kids who they lost tremendously too as well. They had so much fun they even helped the smaller kids make lemonade to sell. "30 minutes before we leave!" Jan yelled out to Kayla. Kayla yelled out "FREEZE TAG" and everyone was getting into position to try and defeat The Freeze Tag Champion. Jan watched as Kayla looked like she was getting ready for the Superbowl. "1, 2, 3, GO!" They took off running and the moms couldn't believe how quickly it had happened. With in the blink of an eye you could see Kayla dodging kids as if she was playing flag football. Some of the moms laughed while some were yelling to catch her. All in fun games so they laughed it off eventually as well. It was a beautiful thing watching their kids all playing together. There were only a couple of kids left that Kayla hadn't froze yet and she was eager to freeze them. They were new kids, so she had to catch them. All of a sudden Kayla hears "KAY-LA WAY-LA whose winning?" She didn't look and she didn't budge. She quickly shook the singing voice of Kim out her head and got it back in the game. She knew Kim wasn't around because it was Saturday and Kim doesn't work on Saturdays. "FREEZE" Kayla yelled loud as she froze one of the new kids There were 2 left and Kayla was determined to catch them. The mothers were watching as their kids competed in such a simple freeze tag game. As soon as Kayla reached 1 of the 2 kids, she heard "KAY-LA WAY-LA" and tripped over her own 2 feet. Kayla quickly got up before she got froze and started to panic. She couldn't understand why she was hearing Kims voice. A few of the mothers thought that Kayla was hurt and quickly noticed Jan coming towards her. All of a sudden Kayla hears "KAY-LA WAY-LA, are you ok?" She quickly turned around and saw Kims long nails as she reached to pinch her cheeks. In that moment Kayla heard "FREEZE" as one of the new kids had frozen her. The new kids had frozen The Freeze Tag Champion for the first time. All the kids were in disbelief as Kayla was in shock. She couldn't believe how Kim had came and turned her day upside down. She also realized that her mother had been talking to Kim earlier. They were going to meet at the park. That night Kayla went home no longer the freeze tag champion and that was a day that she would never forget.
