BOBO

By

Amina Harrison (pen name)

“MOM, HE IS AT IT AGAIN,” a six years old child yells as her pet cat Bobo is tearing away at her clothes as well as some paper in her bedroom. “Okay, Bobo; mom will be very upset,” the pet cat a Cheshire one looks at the child name Chrissy with its soft, watery eyes now Bobo will leap from Chrissy’s bed and runs out the bedroom now Chrissy looks a little amused even though whenever Bobo misbehaves like tearing away clothes maybe laying around or better worse Bobo uses her claws to scratch at the furnishings in the house the pieces made of soft cloth enough for the cat to destroy. I will have to clean it all up, Chrissy thinks to her now her mother will walk into the bedroom as Chrissy’s mother looks around her daughter’s bedroom the mother will sign first then move her head from side to side as Chrissy’s mother is thinking how on earth such a pretty, Cheshire cat like Bobo is so capable of clawing away so many things? “You know Chrissy; we may have to send Bobo away to have some obedience lessens,” the mother says at the moment she will observe a look across Chrissy’s face on the suggestion of Bobo will have to attend training sessions for the cat’s behavior.

“Ah mom; Bobo will hate being away from us among strangers,” Chrissy says as she is clearing away the mess the cat created.

“Okay; you attend to Bobo and make sure he do not cause not more damages”, the mother says now Chrissy will think of maybe a way to keep Bobo out of trouble. Maybe his own cage, Chrissy thinks however the thought of placing Bobo in a cage may not appease the cat considering Bobo when he was brought to Chrissy’s home, the Cheshire cat had to live in a cage until Bobo was old enough to roam around Chrissy's house freely. When Chrissy has finished clearing her room as well the mess Bobo left; Chrissy will walk to the living room and the six years old hopes Bobo has not gotten into no more trouble. “Okay Bobo; wherever you are did you hear mama?” Chrissy asks now the child will not see nor hear the cat’s “meow”. Thinking maybe Bobo is outside playing in the yard now Chrissy will walk outside and she will see no signs of her pet Cheshire cat. I wonder where Bobo has gone off to where?” Chrissy thinks, however later she will learn Bobo has left home and all the while the cat is away; Bobo will miss his dear home. As Bobo is walking along the cat will soon see what looks to be like a large dog also Bobo knows he is not really friendly towards dogs nor the dogs are too friendly towards the likes of Bobo, right now Bobo will suddenly leap up in a tree as the cat looks down from a branch; Bobo will see the dog is running along as if the dog had not seen Bobo at all. When Bobo sees the dog has gone away, the Cheshire cat will leap out the tree once again Bobo will be on his way as the cat travels along; Bobo will see more people almost as more when at times and when he is home looking out one window of the little girl’s house; Bobo will see maybe one, two or three people walking on the sidewalk where Chrissy lives. As Bobo walks on the cat will start to sense it is time for him to eat maybe because of his catlike instinct; Bobo will soon be strolling cat like right in an alley all sudden Bobo will see rows of old, rusty trash cans all full of garbage. Now, Bobo will hurry to one trash can now the cat will begin to dig into the trash in search of food as Bobo is searching for his meal in a moment a much larger cat though like Bobo will dash into the alley also in search of food. As of now, Bobo has no intention of sharing his found food, however the larger cat will not see the same way as Bobo. The larger cat will hiss and raise its large back now Bobo knows the large cat do not want no visitors in the alley eating his alley cat food. Now, leaving the alley with one skeleton of fish; Bobo will go on his way to return home to where he has a friend like Chrissy and although Bobo has his mishaps the Cheshire cat will do his best to be more attentive to his six years old caretaker Chrissy. As the sun is starting to set and Bobo is on his way as soon as Bobo has arrived; he will see Chrissy out in the yard and it looks as if Chrissy is searching all around the yard looking for Bobo.

“THERE YOU ARE BOBO. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?” Chrissy asks the Cheshire cat as she lifts Bobo into her arms; Chrissy will sense Bobo may have been searching around in dirty places for his food. “I do not know where you have been Bobo; now I will have to get you a bath,” Chrissy says as she will take her pet Cheshire cat to where a small, tub is in the garage of Chrissy’s house next after Chrissy fills the small, tub with warm water the six years old child will reach for the pet shampoo so Chrissy will start to bathe off Bobo. “You know Bobo; I have a surprise for you, but you cannot get the prize until after you have your dinner,” Chrissy says as Bobo will purr as Chrissy will finish off the bathing of the Cheshire cat.

“I told you Bobo did not run away,” Chrissy's mother says as she will see her daughter is holding the Cheshire cat and also Bobo looks sort of wet.

“After I dry him off; then I will surprise Bobo,” Chrissy says as she is walking with her cat in her arms, and although Bobo is all wet it is no problem to Chrissy all because the pet has returned home. After Chrissy dry off Bobo, next she will place the cat down near her bed because in her bedroom is what looks to be like a slender like pole twelve inches in height and it is covered with sandpaper like fabric.

“Now, Bobo this is for you a scratching pole. You can climb it and scratch away,” Chrissy says as she looks at her pet Cheshire cat creep around the pole followed by Bobo will scratch and scratch the pole also it looks as if Bobo is trying to really climb the pole as the cat scratches. “Now, this should keep you Bobo from tearing away our clothes and furniture”, Chrissy says as she is laughing at her Cheshire cat clawing away at his brand, new sandpaper covered pole.

I'm sorry to inform you that at present I'm unable to read this work as I'm in the middle of a seven day novella writing contest and I just don't have the time. I'm hopeful you understand.
