Baby on the floor

The night was cold and grey , on this day April 3rd there was a blizzard and just my luck I was shopping in the supermarket for my monthly groceries when all of a sudden I heard a tense and loud cry almost like a cry for help . 2 nights ago I was in my Apartment in Manassas watching the Golden girls on a saturday night when she had received a phone call from her ex husband Jim , had left a voicemail replying “ Im dropping off Marley tonight “ Marley , was My 3 year old girl and I was a single mother with the hopes of conceiving another child , but Jim and I were in different directions we didn't want the same things , but still maintained a Friendship for Marley . A few hours passed and Jim knocked on my Apartment door as my excitement ran through the roof. It had been 1 whole week until I could see Marley because I agreed to get her on the weekend because of my Job as a Traveling Author . As I rushed myself to the door and opened my arms to Marley “ Hi honey how's school , Oh how I missed you I bought you something back from my last trip to Japan “ “ Mommy Mommy “ as Marley excitement grew as we longing hugged each other . Noticing Jim I said a few words “ How was the trip here “ “ok she should be out at 30 , bye Marley see you tomorrow “ . Closing the door in silence Marley ran to her room and started to play with her Susan dolls and quickly shuffled myself to the next room grabbing what i had brought back for Marley off my Night stand it was her name on a silver necklace in Japanese . Arriving in Marles room to give her the gift she ran up to me saying “ is that for me mommy “ “ yes it is it's your name in Japanese i want you to wear it and never take it it off ok “ , “What does it say “ , “it says Mari “ “Mari Mari '' Marley repeatedly said as I gracefully placed the necklace on her she began playing with her dolls . As I walked back to the living room to finish the golden girls eating my ham and cheese sandwich I had made . 15 minutes later I had went to check on Marley and she was sound asleep on the floor peacefully holding her susan dolls I grabbed the dolls and placed them back in the closet and scooped up Marley in my arms and placed to her her unicorn themed bed and tuckered her and closed the door leaving her unicorn princess night light on when that moment I had realized what so much I had missed in Marley's life and wondered how me in jim even got in this position , after so many court showings and traveling agents that second I have realized that I was a horrible mother , and that I need to be in her life . I picked up the phone and called Mr.O’dell , explaining how I couldn't attend this weeks author finance meeting In Orlando , left in silence for a good minute I had explain to Mr.O’dell that Marley is important and there more meetings to come . Closing up the conversation and calling Jim “ Hey I know I don't usually call you like this , but I was wondering if I could keep Marley for the week and I had already called my boss and told him I couldn't make the finance meeting “ , “ I guess it would be ok so I’ll just pick her up Friday night then bye “ . When Jim agreed to my offer I was blowing up in excitement and threw the roof waing to tell Marley . The next Morning I had Made a special breakfast for me and Marley and had invited Jim over , as I rushed to wake Marley up and tell her the news she was already up and heard everything greeting me with a huge smile “ Mommy does this mean you and daddy are getting together again “ , “sweetie I'm not sure , but what we had was special “ . Marley sat on the sofa eating her pancakes and eggs as the door as I rushed to open it “ Who is it? “ Marley said to me, still rushing to open the door with joy . “Daddy “ Marley said leaving her plate on the couch with open arms to her father , greeting jim at the door and telling Marley to go finish her food “ Are you hunger “ saying to jim “ yes I actually am “ , Making him a plate and marley repeatedly staring at us while it place pancakes on his plate. “So you cancelled yu trip this week “ Jim said starting the conversation “ yea because last night remind me off all the trouble and fatal causes in my life and Marley needs her mother “ , “Im done “ Merely said after wiping her hands of her glitter shirt “ok go put your shoes and jacket on so we can go to the grocery store “ As marley began picking up her pink boots with fur and jacket there's too many sequences to count jim said “ Well I should be heading out you guys have fun at the grocery store “ Jim grabbed his coat and scarf and began to leave of the door as I started getting dressed jim said “ I think I forgot my gloves in the room . Opening the room door not aware of the sight he was gonna see “ Omg im naked “ I had screamed like I was scared to death was the future relationship of me and Jim of awkwardness of birthdays and holidays. It can't be I thought to myself , but it was . Gathering myself together I quickly grabbed him his gloves and handed them to jim .I took Marley by the hand and shoved him up into the car and to the grocery store not noticing I had left my show on . As me and Marley arrived at the grocery store it was pouring and so much thunder Marley was shaking down her spine as we ran to the entrance thunder and hit the shopping crt beside us rushing to the fruit section . I had notice there wa barely any staff on board and one strange young women with blood on her lips noticing that I took Marley to get some fruit snacks when I went towards th isle the strange women had approached me and Marley planting marley behind me “ Looking for anything “ she said in a query and creepy voice while backing us up in a corner on isle “ No thank you” as I replied giong to the right in the next isle as I shopping hearing a silent t stern cry , coming closer to the cry it was coming from a storage room as I placed Marley in my arms going towards the storage room and watching the worker stocking the bakery I quickly ran into the storage with my daughter in my hands I heard the cry but louder . Looking behind the silver cabinet there was a baby wrapped in a nued colored blanket with blood noticing the child Mraley jump out f m arms and ran to the child she said “ christopher , Mommy that daddys baby “ , As I was left in shock Marley picked up the baby as a fell sleeping down the wall arley placed the child in my arms as the door rushed open , The worker quickly pushed herself into the storage room grabbing the child from my arms ………(to be continued ).
