Her set up plan

"The truth is Kaylie likes you!" A girl with a wavy brown hair shouted. 

I froze from my position and looked at her with pure horror. She kept panting since we ran for the past ten minutes. The guy infront of us was rather surprised then disgusted with the sudden outburst.

"You promised me you wouldn't tell him. " I whispered while I look at her. 

"She likes you for five years now. I know she can be weird sometimes and a little annoying and sometimes she acts all cocky but you know she's really nice and sweet girl right? Well that's the last time I'll ever compliment you." Keria added and looked at me. She held the boy's hand and smacked his head. "So you better date this idiotic girl or else I'll burn you-"

Before she could even finish her sentence her I had grabbed her away from the boy and covered her mouth. I looked at the boy with a glint of sadness in my eyes and smiled lightly. 

"I-i'm very s-sorry for disturbing you S-shiro. P-please f-forget this scenario and please d-dont listen to Keria." I mumbled enough for him to hear. 

I pulled Keria and left the place. We've been walking around campus and interacted with some people since Keria is some what famous in our school. After a good two hours of walking and talking we finally arrived at a local cafe near our campus and went to our regular spot. It was near the window and the small bookshelf that they have. 

"K-keria." I stated tears threatening to fall from my eyes. "You promised me y-you w-wouldn't tell."

She looked at me with sadness and stood up from her seat and hugged me. "Hush now Kaylie I know that I promised not to tell but this is our last year with him and I wouldn't want you to live with the thought of you not confessing your love for him." She answered and stroked my hair gently. 

"I k-know but you know that his going out with my cousin right? Things will get awkward. " I mumbled. 

"Oh I kinda forgot about that part." She said and went back to her seat. "Oh well the cats out of the bag now." she added and smiled awkwardly. 

"What should I do? Should I tell him it was just a Prank? Should I tell him that you were drunk and said some random trash? Should I tell him it was just a Dare?" I panicked and started shaking a bit. 

"Oh c'mon girl where's the cocky Kaylie that I knew? " she asked and laugh afterwards. 

"I'm gonna burn all of your magazines." I threatened and glared at her.

She was taken back a bit but smiled afterwards. It wasn't an awkward smile nor an innocent smile. It wasn't even a smile at all. She was smirking evily as she looked at me 

"Awww poor innocent little Kaylie you don't go around glaring at me. Everyone knows that I can always turn the tables around. Would you like it if I let's say go and text Shiro that he is your wallpaper." She teased and waved her phone at me with Shiro's contacts. 

"Tsk you win this round miss Grey. " I said and laughed afterwards. This is just normal between us. We've been friends since birth. We are neighbors and our moms are close so that's why we became close aswell.  

The waitress came and took our orders which is a oreo cheesecake , chocolate Berry mocha pie, oreo covered chocolate roll, caramel macchiato and a caramel chocolate smoothie. 

If you're wondering Shiro and I are also childhood friends since the three of us are neighbours. Me and Shiro met first and after a couple of months we then met Keria. Me and Shiro are inseparable but when we reached middle school we were distant a bit and then when we turned highschool we still hang out but still a bit distant. This is our last year in highschool and for the past month we were back to being super duper close but this past weeks rumors were told that Shiro is going out with my cousin. 

"C'mon Ky cheer up! Shiro is our friend and I know he'll understand. Beside guys are drooling for you. You're like a campus celebrity." She complimented. 

"You know that's you right? You're the campus celebrity you moron." I said. 

"Boys are afraid of me well some are hehe. Most of them think i'm one of the boys." I added as the waitress came back and gave us our foods. 

"But Shiro is different. I know he likes you too. Well um I mean he will like you too just be positive kay?" She stated and started eating her cheesecake. 

*Sigh*

After eating we started walking towards our dormitory. We are both roommates and I'm very thankful for that. The dormitory is a five minute walk from school that's why we chose to stay there. 

While were walking I saw Shiro leaning against the wall outside of our dorm I quickly hid behind Keria and pointed at his direction. 

"Do anything stupid and I'll pay for your breakfast for two weeks straight." I whispered as we we're getting closer in his direction. 

I could hear Keria chuckle and without a warning I came face to face with Shiro and Keria ran inside. 

"I want her back before 8, got it Shiro?" Keria shouted and left.

Shiro grabbed my hands and started walking towards the mini park we have. It's simple yet the scenery is beautiful. We sat down the nearby bench infront of the playground and sat in silence. 

"Uhm so about earlier. " he said breaking the silence. 

"Ah yes hahahaha. " I laughed. I gained a bit confidence knowing that if ever Shiro won't like me back I know that Keria will be by my side. "Yeah well I kinda like you? Well don't get to cocky knowing that the great and fabulous Kaylie likes you kay? " I joked trying to lighten up the mood. 

He chuckled and smiled at me. The same smile that I've loved. "Where's the shy Kaylie earlier? I-i'm very s-sorry for disturbing you S-shiro." He asked mocking me. 

I glared at him and slapped his arm. "Boy stop mocking me or i'll rip your XBox." 

"Well how about you rip this instead? " he suggested and gave me a box. It's not that big but not that small either. 

"Uh my birthday was five months ago." 

"Hahaha I know and this isn't a birthday present just open it up. " he said.

I ripped open the box and saw hundreds of letters. Boy this could even be thousands. I took one and opened it. I has my name written on it. 

Dear Kaylie,  

  Happy 12th birthday! I don't know if you're reading this or if ever you'll read this but I just wanna say that I like you so much. We're still young so I guess confessing my love is not the right time? I've known you since we were little at first you were just a little sister that I never had but as the time flies I realized that I like you. Seeing you smile from afar and near makes my world colorful. Everytime I see you cry I could feel my blood boil and want to make the people that made you cry suffer. Everytime you laugh I feel like there's flowers falling from the sky and the birds dancing beside you. That's kinda cringey for me to write but still this is my way to say how much I like you. I am not perfect and I often tease you a lot it is just because I want you to give me attention. I don't like it when you talk to other guys cause I got this weird feeling in my chest. With you there's no dull moment and I hope you feel the same way. Happy birthday again princess I hope until the very end will stay together.

I could feel my tears ran down my cheeks as I held the paper close. I felt his hand wipe the tears in mu cheeks as he slowly lift my chin up.

"Did you know how much it took me to make Keria agree to set us up? I thought you didn't like me so I asked Keria for help. I didn't realize that she'll confess for you and I didn't realize that you liked me too. I thought she would just set us up on a date or something." He shyly admitted as he looked away. 

"S-so that's why Keria was acting weird this morning and kept saying that this is our last year and I need to c-confess? You're so adorable." I laughed and hugged his side. "Idiot you could have just confessed you know? I mean did you know that I had to pay for our food at the cafe cause she kept blackmailing me that she'll tell you that you're my wallpaper. " I blurted out. 

My face is fully red as I realized what I just said. "Awww so I am the wallpaper of the great and fabulous Kaylie? " he teased and hugged me. 

"You don't know how long I've waited to hug you like this. " he stated. "So girlfriend i'll pick you up tomorrow at 8am okay?"

"And who told you that I want to be your girlfriend?" I teased. 

"Okay then I guess i'll just take your cousin with me to eat at Sunny Blue café. Oh it's your favourite café right?" He asked and smirked afterwards. 

"Playing the food card are we?" I smiled. 

"Ofcourse I know you to well you wouldn't resist food. So Kaylie will you be my girlfriend? " he asked. 

I smiled wildly and said. "Depends if you're willing to be mybboyfriend and i'll surely say yes."

He smiled and kissed my cheeks leaving me as red as a tomato. "I am much more willing to be your boyfriend."

And that's the start of my love story because of a secret that was told. 

"I guess my work here is done." Keria mumbled as she saw the couple having fun while teasing each other.
