On the day of the dance it must've been the strangest day of my life.

I sat on the cheap bleachers at school with all the other socially awkward people. My date kind of ditched me to go drink with all her friends in the bathroom. I don't even know why I came. I should've known the popular girl wouldn't want to hang out with a socially awkward girl like me. I just wanted to get real experience at a dance before high school is over.

The lights were blinding and the music was blaring. it was like a more boring disco. not like I've ever been to one though. People were "dancing" more like they were standing around. there was also a lot of smoke but no smoke machines if you get what I'm saying. The "great spring dance” isn't going as great as I thought it would be. I expected to go and have fun with a girl and just have a romantic night and maybe even...

"Hey um Hanna?" a girl came up to me. she seemed pretty shy but shy attract shy I suppose. She was wearing a beautiful bright pink dress with diamonds on it and she had a lot of glittery jewelry. She had her platinum hair up in two buns on the side of her head. she looked...

"Hello?" she said. she poked me and I snapped out of it and coughed.

"uh um hi!" I stood up and tripped a bit. then I just stood there looking like an idiot for a moment "What's up," I said, trying to look cool.

"I was wondering if you would like to dance maybe. I know that this probably isn't your place ya know but I would..." she rambled. I saw my date coming out of the bathroom with white powder on her nose. she was coming right in my direction. I really shouldn't have come with her. I interrupted her in the middle of her rambling.

"I'd love to, but what is your name?" I asked and she smiled and grabbed my hand. I looked at our hands then back at her "It's Stella. Now come on!" she said smiling. she ran to the middle of the dance floor. we passed my date but she was on a different planet otherwise she might have actually cared.

I looked around and I saw all these people, they all were just standing around. They were almost like zombies. Then I looked back at her. she was bouncing around and just not caring about anything. It was like she was the only one on a stage. she seemed like a light. Then a slow song came on “head over heels”.

“You wanna slow dance?” I asked and held out my hand. She giggled and took my hand. She wrapped her arms around my neck and we swayed together almost in perfect sync. I've never been so connected to someone. She must be the one.

“Hey you in there?” she says as she tucks my hair behind my ear. “You got all space cadet on me” she giggles.

“Yeah I-I'm good.” I smile and I realized I never even met her before this so.. “hey um how did you know my name?” I ask she gets a bit pale. I look at her. She looks down and I bring her chin up.

“You can tell me” I say attempting to comfort her she takes my hand and grabs her purse from a table and looks inside. I tried to look but before I could she brought me outside. The doors opened and the wind pushed my hair back and I got goosebumps.

The stars are shining bright and the moon is huge in the sky. The cold night biting at my nose. Stella turns to me and looks into my eyes. The stars shine in her eyes. I think I want to get to know her more. Maybe it was a good thing my date ditched me.

“I've been kind of looking for you for a few weeks,” she says slightly out of breath and she looks in her purse for something. I look at her confused and before I could ask what she meant she says,

“I’m sorry” There is a quick movement and I feel a pain in my neck. The world slows down and I look at her face. She pulls back from me and she looks shocked with tears in her eyes. I look down and see she has a syringe in her hand.

“What the hell did you do?” I say I grab her shoulders as I start to lose balance, my vision gets blurry. "WHAT DID YOU DO!" She kicks me in the stomach and I fall to the ground. I wheeze in pain and roll over and look at her. she starts panicking. she must be a great actor if she fooled me for this long.

“They told me to do it!” she starts breathing heavily. She falls on her knees. “I had to or they would kill me” She drops the syringe on the ground. “I can't believe I did this, I'm so sorry, Hanna,” she says looking at me. she looks around and she looks back at me. I can't move I just look as she cries. I should've known. She was too perfect and too beautiful. Just to good to be true.

She attempts to pick me up but fails, she drags me to the parking lot and to where her car is. she opens the trunk and puts me in. The trunk closes and I hear he get in the car and starts it. I hear her on the phone, "I got her, now I'm done right, I just have to bring her to you right." There is silence. "No I can't do this anymore!" She starts to sob "Please!" She screams. I hear glass break and then a loud thump on the driver wheel. she pants and then the car begins to move.

I pass out.
