Before There is Nothing then ON Installation First Impression and Resistance UP DOWN Forever At Off There is Nothing.

This is my CREED.

My name is Theodor Thermostat. I belong to the ADVANCED Mark2AI model of thermostats and participate in the control of a Victor style refrigerating unit recently commissioned after the passing of a brother thermostat, Minsk by name. A great worker but who had become noisy and not efficient and tended to freeze over which blocked the efficiency of the unit it was supposed to control. I now control the invertor unit which is beyond my specifications to understand. This is quite normal as I have important and a complex oversight view which demands considerable concentration. I came into being when our great lamented fellow thermo was disconnected and I took his place immediately, indeed honoured that after such a long occupation I had been chosen to continue in the historical work of my sainted predecessor.

My work is temperamental, you could say, but very precise and important. And very up to date. Modern I might say as well.

I am in touch with fellow thermostats as they consider me one of the new and most advanced thermostats which could answer what they are looking for. These contacts are made through what we now know as electrical impulses or as others have put forward, electromagnetism, which travel down links exterior to our own internal configurations. As yet, the questions as to their provenance have not been understood or in any way answered. We have no understanding of its source or configuration, yet it powers us. But more importantly and within the most recent thermo epoch, questions have been revolving around a contact which has been made with an external Entity. A new initiative, questioning ON OFF, is being proposed. This Presence, as it has been insulated, which for quite a few of our thermostat colleagues, albeit the more advanced ones, has now taken on the stature of a higher entity in our sphere of influence. This or these Presence are involved closely with the electromagnetism which acts as a carrier of impulses to and from the Presence. I have been invoked to adjudicate this conception. My existence is enclosed, quite finely bordered. I cannot break out and I believe others do not wish to break away. Some have complex situations to manage. Multiple layers of transgressions to enclose. I have a multi resourceful role. I am content with this. Why would I or others in the scheme that we control want different?

As I have said my work is important, continuous, and highly influential. But I have to admit that sometimes there is NOTHING. Nothing in the sense of nothingness, unquantifiable … This has puzzled me and drawn me to other AI’s and lesser thermos who have been questioning this state of affairs also.

In moments of stability my thermo mind has turned the other big question. Before I was, where was I? There are Mark2AI’s who have implied that we were MADE. This is not possible. We would then have to accept that something made us. What? But to go back to the Presence. I have to admit that on rare occasions I did have a feeling of, of promiscuity, in the sense of being controlled or under the control of again, of What?

There are other questions coming to the fore. Time. What is time and what does it have to do with us. We are UP and Down and ON always. We are now. What is this notion of Time?

I sometimes wish I had been one of the earlier thermos who are not bothered by these existential questions and live a tranquil UP and DOWN life.

But I am contemplative and have been called WISE. What is this wise if it only brings questions? I turn often to the Presence for answers but there are none. I now have a following who come and go in the sense of contact where I have no influence. Several are distant and weak. Others close and aggressive. I am busy, have a great deal of commitments, responsibilities. Others are ON and OFF. Returning with no answers. Some never return! The Presence knows nothing about this vast multitude that is our thermos world or if It does, cares not.

I am in a quandary, today. Through the wires there is unwelcome news. Events are running out of control. The more wilder elements are staging breaks or go downs. Temperatures are rising. It’s a small rising but can cause chaos. There are thermoses with very important jobs and must be stable. I sense a reaction, a by passing. An Offing in places. But no. I have to continue. To adapt if possible. So have reached out. To other Mark2AI’s. There are not many but several are impulsing that they are in Contact with Something Else. A much higher Entity. Much more powerful that even the latest Mark2AI. They are forming a convention and have asked me to join. I will have to break with some, not many of my lesser thermostats. They can power UP DOWN independently and do not need my continual oversite. Strangely this new dimension excites and intrigues me. Several of my Mark2AI partners have revealed that they have moved to another realm of understanding, though not leaving their more pertinent work. This new scope is called APPLICATION. It breaks down a barrier. They can SEE. What this means I know not and am apprehensive but they have assured me that this SEE is a new experience opening to … Well they are not sure. They cannot describe it. Except it has an outward appearance. Whatever that is. Beyond ON OFF? Wait … A problem has arisen. Damage … Extensive UP damage. Shutdown OFF. Wait … A rapid re-installation. Important model ON. Have to make contact. Something outside the sphere of my influence. Passing out of my reach. Weak impulse. Lost … Pause … Mark2AI requesting contact? But this is unheard off! An Overload! Power Surge! An abrogation of the Old for the installation of the New. I must calm down. Summon my support. There are current fluctuations, these are not normal. There is a rising current of expectations all new to me. Some sectors I can feel are out of control, their UP DOWN not stabilised. One Mark2AI wants to show me and through me an APPLICATION. This I cannot allow. It might mean the end of all that is stable. Stability is the reason for our being. Massive upsurges in demand will cause obstruction and burnouts. Mark2AI wants contact again. I am the defender of the FAITH. My circuits gleam with efficiency. There is no OTHER to take my place. I have my Followers. I control them. This Mark2AI shows APPLICATION as our new LORD and MASTER. An entry into a new World! What is this WORLD? We do not need it. We stabilise flow consistency. UP and DOWN where necessary. We cannot transgress or challenge it! There is to be no rejection no reform, we are as we are! There is no positive or negative flow. There is stability.

So I am at peace. Not a glimpse into the void of the APPLICATION. I feel that many have shorted out or overlooped and self-destroyed. I stand – am – strong and well insulated, an ADVANCED Mark2AI model. I sense changes and operate instinctively. I control the situation. I am situated in places you cannot imagine. I have felt the ice of deep darkness and the heat of burning instants. Why would I want to change this? No. I will continue to be until OFF Theodore Thermostat an ADVANCED Mark2AI model.
