Doctor Tom

I love this song! "Ground Control to Major Tom".. especially being up here on the ISS. As I monitor our little blue marble and what's going on. Some crazy stuff going on , that's for sure! So? I have my favorite tune playing. Just quiet enough for me to enjoy but not interrupt my colleagues as they go about their various experiments and observations. So Lets see? It seems the Ozone hole is doing well?... Check!... in the Pacific? Hmm? Thermals show we have no El Nino and no El Nina?.. that means no Pineapple express this year? Possible drought?... I know this gets boring but it's important!... "Dr Tom you have an incoming call! do you accept"?... "Of Course Only Always!"... (Static screen lights up) ..... "Hi Babe how are you doing up there?".. "Oh my God Love.. I am so happy you called! How is Jessica did she have a good Birthday?".. "Tom it was great her friends came by we had cake and a great pool party!. we miss you!" I miss you both too! I will be home soon though!.. "So? how is the weather?.. "Well my husband isn't that your job? you tell me?.. it has been like a roller coaster!... I don't know? but plenty warm enough for a pool party? And Birthday party... But Tom the Garden is dying?.. and one day it is so hot! And the next night it is freezing?... what is going on? "My Love I am looking into it as much as I can. "Dr Tom you have an incoming message from Weather central We must interrupt this conversation stand by" (I Love You) Static.... "Please stand by for the following message to the Weather support team on the ISS" "We are certain that you have observed the thermals and Tropical depressions heading towards the Gulf of Mexico." Ok this is where my Wife and daughter and I live South Texas Galveston. "Computer focus on the Southern United Gulf of Mexico Give all readings!" (Computer voice).. "Dr Tom it does appear that a Tropical depression with low temperature readings may develop into a higher reading as there is higher temperatures in the gulf, this may result in a hurricane situation, recommending evacuation." Ok.. my family and friends are there. They don't know what's heading for them. How could I have missed this?.. So distracted in my tunes and looking everywhere else? (Computer voice) "Dr Tom the tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico has reached Hurricane levels. Immediate evacuation should be implemented"... "Control! Please patch me through to my Wife! Code 11324 immediately!"... (Computer voice)No answer! "Computer SHUT OFF THAT MUSIC!" I watched from above as the forces of Mother Nature Raged the coast in the Gulf of Mexico. Not just water and tidal forces ? But fires and the meltdown of a Nuclear facility... causing untold damage. I Lost contact with control and my family. You could see the fires and damage from up here above. I Cried , several of our crew as well. I knew that there was no where to go home to. And could only pray my family was safe, though I doubted it. I put my music back on. "Ground Control to Major Tom"..... tried to contact but no answer?... Nothing could have hurt more. Honestly for all my studying? Nobody listened. Reports sent would be taken and distorted by the media. This is when we heard about the Caribbean's... tidal waves and Tropical depressions becoming Hurricanes!... and Sub Oceanic earthquakes!.... Indonesia being hit by a tidal wave! So many on the coasts hurt and killed!... in the Caribbean as well as Puerto Rico! I was so worried about my own family! How could I save them from so far above? Politicians used my data for their own gain. Why? Politicians? So much said that would bring them to a place of stature? As if they had an answer?... they didn't just sought another vote. There was so much that could have saved or prepared us for this... the warnings were in place. That's when it hit me like a punch in the face. Mother Nature and Our Beautiful Planet can shake us off like a flea. Whether it is our own fault or Volcanos or just Mother Nature. This was a hard loss to watch and lose, Hoping my Daughter and Wife are ok. I sit hoping that they are. And Control is gone, after many tries no answer I sit here scratching my head wondering where and why?.... Things could not possibly have gone so wrong This happened And Here I am... Sitting in a Tin Can. No way home and no where to land.. no way to know if things are ok sitting here with no answers and no one to report to.. running out of food just watching as this all goes south. My Crew are freaking out.. I try to help but no one listens... I do not blame them. watching from above and knowing what happens below is a hard thing. It is the same for me, communications have been cut off, all we have is our sensors to detect what is going on down there.. No one answers our calls... we do pick up some radio media but nothing from our control.. Watching from here shows that everything is a Hot Mess right now.. Is it our fault"? Is it just Mother Nature? Who Knows?There is much in my reports that may help going forward. Good information. I hope my family made it through. I Hope all others are safe as well but who knows?.. Here on the ISS we have had no communication at all.. despite our attempts.. I am not the only one wondering how to get back home..As we observe and use our sensors and devices we see just how our Mother Earth is shaking apart... we see Cities destroyed we see news media showing us panic and natural destruction Earthquakes Storms Tornados and Lightning Storms.. for all of my attempts my family has been gone.. I cannot find them.. I have had no communication on my private channels.. I am going to bed now. I wish all of you my best as I sit here in my little tin can.
