Day by Day
Three Things to Pray.
See thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Daily challenges may be big or small. We become tired and hungry and misguided by weakness. Pick a fight, perhaps. Put the boxing gloves on and take a swipe. Sometimes we are just attempting to unleash to hurt from deep down inside in an attempt to share the pain, lighten our load. Words are hard to find.
We just don’t know how sometimes.
And are afraid to ask for help,
So we punch.
When what we really need is
A Time out😏.
Even grown ups!
We know we should live by and set a good example.
We don’t always know how sometimes.
And are afraid to ask for help.
So we punch again.
When what we really need is.
A Helping Hand.🤜🏻🤛🏻
Day by day while growing up, few of us as children may have recognized this. Taken a step further, some of us battled moments and circumstances not suited to a young person’s capabilities and healthy growth.
We didn’t know what to do, how to escape.
Where to go for help.
How to seek help.
So we punched ourselves sometimes
When what we really needed was.
To find our place. To find our space. In the big beautiful world. Find a friend who understood our world. Help us to take the bull by the horns even and create a world, a safe world. Nurtured Love and Understanding World. The belonging may have been side by side with a beloved pet, a special friend who understood your joys and pains of the day. A hamster, cat, bird, dog. Pets are one of life’s greatest joys.
If one was lucky enough to be exposed to God’s grace at an early age, one knows there is always hope for a good day. Any day is a good day to serve others. A beautiful day to get out of our own head too!☺️
Take good and honest steps to serve while at the same time unknowingly coming to terms and learn to be at peace with past faults and failings.
We don’t always know how.
So we stay inside.
Hidden from others and sit too silently with our grief and fear as our “friend”.
Creating a world of misery. Because overtime we may have come to believe that is all we deserve. We were not “good enough”. We were afraid to raise our hand and shout.
”I hurt. please help me” Paralyzed with fear of how to walk through the open door of amazing grace and generous spirits who are out in the world.
We just did not know how.
So we keep punching back.
And nothing good was happening.
We felt that was what we deserved.
Be Auden it was all we “knew”
Fast forward to adulthood.
A desire for unification takes hold in our heart. A punch back at the
devilish temptations all around us weakens our resolve and we become weak minded and weak in our words. Even Jesus was tempted by the devil.
Jesus was smart. Very smart. He prayed to his Father when we felt weak. When the devil was attempting to sow division, the devil used three nasty methods. Three poisons. And the devil was very good at sowing division.
But Jesus was better.
The devil attempted use and to sow negative temptations.
But Jesus was stronger.
The devil would use temptation if material goods and tell us we needed these goods to satisfy our needs. The devil’s persistence was no match for Jesus. In the place of a person or a beloved being, the devil would try to convince us a thing was better than reaching out to touch the hand of a person we love. We want to care for.
But we did not always know how.
How to ask for help.
So maybe we made a choice to steal because the devil momentarily convinced us, tempted us, and we became weak.
It is ok to ask for forgiveness. Jesus is ready, willing and able to walk side by side with you on the fast track to forgives and goodness. Jesus will be the one to silently punch the devil in the face for you, quietly, calmly and steadfastly. The devil wants us to sow u healthy attachments in our lives.
Jesus knows this. Jesus won’t allow it. The devil tempts us with mistrust by using the vices of blackmail, stealing and division. devil means divider. one of the loneliest place can be to be alone. And the devil knows this.
But Jesus knows better.
Why does the devil do things things? Want to divide? The short answer is power. Power can make folks do some crazy stuff sometimes. May even gain attention, influence. Widespread and dangerous temptations unfortunately can grow faster than a weed.
It is difficult to NOT to engage with the devil sometimes. Not engage in dialogue. Jesus invites us to his table to discuss converse about love, honor and joy.Avoid the devil’s temtping table of divisional attachment, mistrust and power hungry tactics.
They will leave you starving as he takes your plate.Takes all the plates away. The devil will be the first to offer you the humble pie of the division. And he will enjoy you struggling. He will think he “won”.
But Jesus is always there by your side whispering for you to come to his table. Have a comfortable seat and learn about beneficient humility. Humility where pain turns into the lesson of goodness you share with others. Freedom from the tethers of division the devil attempted to sneak into your life.
Spiritual struggles are the good kind of struggles because Jesus is a patient and kind teacher. He never gives up. On you, for you. Even when we become lost, lost in our way from day to day.
The devil sows solitude.
Jesus sows community.
The devil is like a “bad cat” leading us down a path of divisional temptations. From loved ones. From community.
Jesus is ever present to ensure on our behalf that does not happen.
We just need to ask Him in our weakest moments and strongest moments.
