Ahhh.

Yes.

Disclaimer:

I am female.

From birth.

Last I checked.

The certificate.

of my birth.

Impossible beauty is not so impossible anymore.

Have you seen the price of plastics lately?

Whew and Whoa!

Where are they putting it all?👯‍♀️

Stuffing it all?

I am not sure many Barbie wannabes know this.

Sad and true fact.

I am not sure many Barbie wannabes know this either,

But,

Barbie had a friend.

She lived in the shadows

Of Barbie.

Her name was Skipper.

More my type☺️.

A little less flashy, flatter hair, flatter other parts….etcetera.

At the time when Skipper blew into circulation, she was “sold” as a Barbie’s sister.

I wonder.

About that sisterhood angle.

Anyway.

I do not think Skipper sold “it” as well as Barbie.

There are a thousand reasons, only am guessing.

Why she did not work it.

Or sell it, as well.

I think it was because Skipper was considered,

”Cute.”

The Good News: Skipper knew how to stay in her league.

Skipper was mighty fine staying in her lane too.

Plus. I liked the name.

Of a person who has the sailor’s perspective of a life well lived.

Chart your own course kind of existence.

When the winds blow harshly and you are start to teeter totter on the teeter totter of your own existence.

Skipper was not the jealous type.

Not even when Ken came into the picture😡.

The Bad News: Barbie was so, so, so able to walk in high heels.

Not so for Skipper.

Skipper preferred “flats”. 😘

Ken did not really pay much mind to Skipper. And that was fine by her. Skipper was repelled at the fact the guy seldom chose to wear a shirt.🤨

Skipper preferred the real deal.

She knew the real deal was just around the corner.

Joe.

G. I. Joe.

A fair fighter.

A real fighter.

When the chips were down.

How.

She felt his presence in the confusing life of adolescence.

Watching over the mistakes made and the lessons learned in the process. Celebrating the small and tiny victories with Skipper before the next round of

crap.

came falling from the sky.

As it did.

On a daily basis.

Skipper was a tough cookie.

Thank Goodness.

Nothing random about Skipper’s preferences either.

Skipper stuck to her guns.

She did not have many friends.

I think that is why she rode solo.🤸

The differences between the Skipper of the 60’s and the Skipper of the 09’s……

Skipper is being sold as a “tech person”.

Hmmmmmmmmm.

With blue eyes.

Hmmmmmmmmm. Again.

Nice try.

She was sold as an alternate.

How do you like them apples of respect?

I know I don’t.

Skipper does not either.

She doesn’t bend like Barbie.

Or stretch,

The truth.

Into tall and long tales

with the bat of an eye.

And fake eye lashes.

She preferred the tough as nails approach of Joe.

”Drop and give me twenty” kind of lessons.

Now.

Not.

Yesterday.

No pizazz.

No pizza.

No pizza party today.

As a right of passage for getting it “right”.

The Box Office is waiting for you and your soul to walk right up to the window and sell it.

Sell out.

I know.

I know.

How will I know what the latest fashions are to be?

Peruse the aisles of the local thrift stores and you will gain knowledge beyond your wildest dreams. Beware of the tiny, tiny little shoes those, fine motor skills are required to maneuver around.

Another talent Skipper lacked.

The ability to maneuver.

The way that Barbie was able to maneuver.

And. oh. Could Barbie maneuver.

Mind boggling.

Skipper could only stand by sometimes and watch in amazement. But the majority of time Skipper only felt embarrassment.

For her “sister” Barbie.

The good news: Joe was around.

Never really far away.

Distancing himself just enough to allow another mistake and then pulling Skipper by the hair back to reality.

To pick up the pieces of the broken heart.

Phew.

Life sucks sometimes.

Having Joe in Skipper’s corner at his discretion was not only a necessity for Skipper.

It became a must.

A must over bust.😂

It was life changing.

Joe had some rather bad a**tactics and Skipper was on board 100 percent.

One hundred percent.

Because when shooting oneself in the foot becomes a routine, G.I. Joe had the personal fortitude to step up to shake things up.

For the majority.

Not just the few.

And some bada** camo too.

Served on a silver platter of issues and tissues—connective or corrective.

No trouble with Joe’s vision.

None whatsoever.

The beauty. Joe never picked sides.

G.I. Joe never picked sides because he did not have to.

He led by example.

Skipper was drawn to that kind of strength. When she herself lost it.😡

The Good News: The strong like Joe never give up because they use mistakes and ram them into a wall, allowing the mistakes to fall into tiny pieces.

Not allowing a person to fall into pieces.

All with the heart fully intact.

Beautiful.

Wonderful too.

Cannot run a life of service as quickly or as well in high heels.

Steady as she goes.

And when she falters,

Be there.

In return,

Skipper vowed to salute G.I. Joe.

And left Ken to the Barbie’s of the world.

Too much work to do and so little time.

Thank you and acknowledge those who fight our battles on the waters. They spread salvation to those who keep trying on the perilous and long expeditions…..even on land too.

Protect them and bring them safely into port too. In all shapes, colors, sizes and both sexes. Follow the values of honor, courage and commitment as professionals who believe in service above self to defend freedom.

Freedom to live in the unchained chains of the ball and chains. So.

The next time you fall

by the wayside.

Pick yourself up.

Dust yourself off.

Start all over again.

Challenged another day to do the right thing.

Even when it is difficult.

Extend a hand with the courage to do the right thing.

Resist the temptation to “Stuff it.” down into our souls

or throats

(or any tissue issues 🤧 down the shirts either.)👯‍♀️

Remember you are made in God’s eyes.

And.

God does not make mistakes.🤸
