I recall that moment very well. This would be the beginning of our happily ever after story. I was anticipating the arrival of some books that I purchased on Amazon a week ago, however it was delayed. That morning I had no plans besides picking up some groceries at my local food market and possibly some light cleaning before my friends arrived later that evening. Woke up feeling quite rejuvenated and ready for the world. Turned on my favorite tunes as I got ready to head out.
As I was walking, I stumbled across a cute little cafe a few blocks from me called, "Cafe Oh Latte". The line wasn't too long so I decided to go in. "Hey, how's it going, are you ready to place your order?", said the guy behind the counter. "Umm yes, I think I want to try your special Latte for the day and a blueberry muffin. Thank You!" I replied. "Sure, that's actually one of our favorite picks from most of our customers, would that be all?" he said. I replied, "For now that will be all." The cashier rang me up as I stood to the side waiting for my order.
I waited to turn around and there she was right in front of me. Beautiful as the ocean, a smile as bright as the sun and her aura seemed to flow throughout the room. I went up to the counter to collect my order and we both grabbed the same Latte at the same time. I’m sorry, is this your coffee? I asked. A bit of confusion stirred my mind as to who it belonged to. She replied, “I’m not too sure, I ordered a Hazelnut Crème Brulé with oat milk. Her smile lit up when she reached over to pick up the cup. “Ah, that order is for Samantha,” said the guy behind the counter. “Yours is coming right up.” he said.
She gasped gently as if she felt embarrassed by the shortcoming of excitement in having her coffee already made. “My apologies, if I were to look closely it clearly had your name on it,” she said. “No worries at all, I guess we are both trying out the new specialty flavor for this month,” I said with a gentle smile. I reached over to give her a hand shake, as if I was thanking her for an interview. At that very moment I was thinking how weird that was and a simple introductory would have been enough. Anyways, she kindly obliged and took me up on my offer.
We spoke briefly about monetary random things, adulting life hacks, upcoming plans etc. She told me her name was Elle and that she was visiting her parents from out of a small town located East of Michigan. I did recall her saying that she planned on visiting some of her old friends later on that evening. Just before I knew it, we parted ways. I totally forgot to exchange contact information after being so engaged with our light conversation. Maybe we might run into each other again, as I thought to myself. From the café I decided to go to this popular book store across town. Book of Thieves Book store, how ironic is that I thought to myself, however supposedly many authors go there for their book signing release dates. It’s a very popular store with two floors, cheek decorations with a touch of memorabilia from the seventies up to the most current. Probably a Casanova with a laissez faire attitude designed it.
Not that I was ever concerned or wanting to write or publish a book one day, it’s just the curiosity about the store being owned by a group of super young millennials who knows how to have fun while selling you books at the same time. Just a week ago they hosted an Anime launch event there which had sold out tickets within minutes of it being announced. Time seemed to go by so fast today and before I knew it, I was already at the book store browsing for a new read. Nothing at the moment stirred my curiosity or attention until it suddenly hit me like a bolt of lightning flashes that finding interest in the metaphysical genre really diverged my quench of thirst.
I walked through at least 3 aisles before I stumbled across the book that I actually wanted to read. There on the fourth shelf I came across a book called, “Becoming One with The Universe” by Alfred Richardson. Now that was a catchy title, if you were to ask me most of us human beings need to be connected to nature in order to produce results for the betterment of mankind. Just a thought that came to my mind. A few had some catchy titles and storylines that was appealing and as I walked further down, I notice a brown book bag on the floor that looked familiar. “Where did I see that bag before?” I said to myself. The distinctive pins and color paint that looked accidently placed on it is what stood out to me the most. And right before I can even think of a name, there she arrived right around the corner. Its like we both couldn’t get the words out in time. “Wow, it’s funny running into you here.” Elle says with a smile. “Yes, I guess so we must have the same agenda for the day I see.” I replied back as I giggled a bit.
We just continued our conversation and some light banter. “So, Samantha what brings you here to Michigan?” she said. Well, the first reasoning is for work purposes, thinking if I should work for another company or start my own business. My job folded about five months ago and the position I once had is obsolete. The second would be to settle down and have a family. I’m still new to this town, however the potential of growth is great. Besides, I need a new environment.” I replied. Seems to me you’re in the right place at the right time.
Michigan is pretty decent, young at heart, very much affordable and a great place to start a family. Would you happen to know of any nice spots for a single woman like me who’s looking to mingle and get to know someone on a genuine level? I asked. “Ah yeah! You can start by taking down my number and we can take it from there,” she said so sweet and confidently. From the very first day that me and Elle met we never stopped getting to know each other. We courted each other and spent so much time together that our lives just aligned so beautifully. One would say its serendipitous, I think we would both agree that it was perfect timing.

I love that. I guess all of us are on different journey's. When we are aligned to meet the right one for us, then it would be considered perfect timing.
