Adventure

The day had arrived. Finally, the day in which I could get on my new yacht. The yacht I bought was a 2018 Ocean Cruiser. I haven’t seen it until today. When I took my first look inside, I was blown away. The floor had this majestic carpet that changed color whenever you shifted your position in the room. The furniture was brand new and the couch had a nice old timey theme. I got into the control room and everything seemed so futuristic. I turned on the yacht for the very first time. The engine sound was so nice. I put the gear on and I was cruising. After 5 minutes of driving the yacht in the open ocean, I turned it off and laid back outside on the patio area. After about 3 minutes of taking a little nap, I heard a knock coming out of the kitchen area of the yacht. I went to check it out and saw all the pots and pans on the floor. I just thought that it was the wind so I just picked up the pots and went back to relaxing.

After about 15 minutes of napping, I decided this was a good time for some food. I go back to the kitchen to get a plate, and I see that all the silverware had been scattered all over the floor. I thought that this was a bit odd, so I just went to the living room part of the yacht and sat down to gather my thoughts. As I was doing this, I hear the engine of the yacht turn on. I feel it go forward, so I ran to the control room to see who is driving the yacht. I go into the control room and see that no one is in the room. Then the door to the control room shuts close with a loud slam. I tried to open the door but it wouldn’t budge. Then loud banging started coming from all around me. I closed my eyes and hoped that this was all just a dream. When I opened my eyes, the banging had stopped, the ocean had settled, and the door to the control room was open, with the hallway leading out the control room being pitch black. I grabbed the broom that was leaning on the wall and walked into the dark hallway.

When I walked out, everything was knocked off its place. The photos were all knocked off their place, the flower vases were all crushed, and all the doors to the other rooms were wide open. I got to the door that looked out to the patio, and saw a figure of what appeared to be a man leaning over the railing. I walked up behind him and saw that this was not a human, but a ghost. He turned around and I fell backwards. When I saw the face of the ghost, he seemed very familiar.

“ Get up from their. You know how dirty those floors are.”

“ Dad? Is it really you. I thought you died?”

“ I did. I’m just here to see how my son is doing.”

“ I miss you dad. I haven’t stopped spending the money you left for me. I used your money to buy stupid stuff I don’t need like this yacht.”

“ I know that your homeless. You bought this yacht to find an island to settle. I just came here to tell you that I forgot to mention that I left you my house.”

“ Wait? Are you serious? Thank you so much.”

“ Just promise me one thing. Don’t ever forget about me.”

“ I’ve never stopped thinking about you ever since you died.”

“ I have to go now. I love you son.”

“ I love you too dad.”

Ever since my encounter with my dad, I’ve sold the yacht and used the money to renovate my dad’s house. I used the remainder of the money towards a cure for cancer, which is what my dad died from. In my house, I've hung up many family photos, but my personal favorite is the one with me and my dad laughing together at a Chili’s. I still cry whenever I look at this photo.
