Drama Teens & Young Adult Fiction

I was walking on the street after had a fight with my dad. I've always thought that it’s fine to be sad.

It’s always been me and my dad. I should say he was a great dad in the whole world. It’s true that not always we could be a good over bad. Everyone has their darker deepest secrets hidden inside them, so has my dad.

I was five when my mum passed away in a car accident and now I am seventeen and miss her every day. It is really difficult to remember her face because I didn’t have a single photograph of her by any chance. I thought it was my dad who never wanted to tell me about my own mother. I can’t really say what was the real reason of all, until we had a serious conversation which ended up in a intense fight.

The morning I had a fight with my dad, I was having a nice talk with him. He was making breakfast and I was just watching him as usual. The day was good until I started fighting with him and I ended up crying and walked out on him. The reason we fought was that I found out my dad was lying to me the whole time. I didn’t know he was a good liar. He lied everything about my mom. As I said she died in the car accident but no that was completely a lie. The reality was that she’s living in some other city with her new family, alive. I was shocked. First I thought how could a father lie to his daughter about her own mother or how could possibly a mother left her only child. At the moment so many questions were coming on my mind and I had no answers what was true or whatnot to believe now.

Next day, I went to school without talking to my dad because I was really frustrated about the last day we had. I couldn’t able to concentrate on anything. He tried to talk to me but I ignored him like he never existed. I was only thinking about my mother. Suddenly, I saw a boy, he was tall and an innocent- face with cute voice. He had this really unique charm but from what I was going through was bad and didn’t want to think about a boy, who I had never seen before. The interesting fact was that the boy I’ve seen earlier was in my class and I had never noticed him before. After the school, I was going back home and heard a voice from back. I ignored but then again I heard that someone was really calling me, so I stopped and thought, “ I don’t even have friends then who’s calling my name.” I turned back and saw the same boy from school. He came to me and asked, “Can I walk with you home.” I thought, “ Why would I walk with someone who I don’t even know.” He again asked me, “ If you don’t mind can I walk with you home.” I said, “Yes, of course.” Then we started walking together but didn’t say a word to each other. We were walking and walking and finally reached my home. He suddenly said, “ See you around, thanks for walking with me.” I glared into his eyes and it seems like he didn’t sleep for days but there was something different about him. He looked sad and in pain. I mean anyone could sense that he was in pain and wanted to say something. Then I just said goodbye and walked into the house. I went into my room and tried to process everything which has happened. I had never talked anyone before in my school and today a boy came and walked me to home. It was like a dream to me but it was a fact that he wanted to tell me something or maybe I was overthinking.

Next day, I saw him again. He was coming back from the football practice but I ignored and went to the class. After the school I was going back to home and saw him again waiting for me. He came to me and asked what he had asked yesterday, of course to walk with him to home. We started walking together and I wasn’t able to figure out why he was walking with me. Anyways whatever the reason was, I liked the fact that someone wanted to talk and walk with me. After a long silence I asked him, “Why do you walk with me. You don’t even know me.” He chuckled and said, “ I like the way you stay silent.” He continued, “ Maybe I don’t know you well but there’s something which wants me to be around you.” I stopped and looked at him for a minute and realized not every person is weird or bad. You just need to figure out with whom you could be good or bad. Then I asked, “ Where do you live?” He replied, “Just few blocks away.” Then he hesitated and asked, “ There’s a small party at my house, would you like to come?” I said, “ I don’t do parties.” Then he immediately said, “ But this one will be different.” I thought for a second and replied, “I would think about it.” Then we reached at my house. I was going inside and suddenly he said, “I’ll wait.” I smiled and left.

I couldn’t stop thinking about him and his voice and decided to go to the party. I didn’t know the time of the party so I just got ready already. I was waiting for him and then suddenly the bell rang. My dad opened the door and he invited him in. I came down and couldn’t able to stop smiling at the moment. I don’t know what exactly it was but I got really attached with him emotionally. Then he asked my dad nicely to take me with him to his party. Surprisingly, my dad allowed me to go. I think my dad really wanted me to do something different and have a good time. Then we both walked together to his home. We reached and it was a really nice party with a big crowd. He had a big house and everything was so beautiful. He introduced me to his friends and we started enjoying the delicious food and drinks. After hours, people started going back to their houses. Then his phone rang, he picked it up and after an couple of minute he dropped the phone in shock. I got scared because his face turned into anger. I tried to ask him what’s wrong but he wasn’t clearly in the state to tell or explain me anything. He looked at me and said, “ Go home now.” I asked, “ What’s wrong? Is everything alright? ” But then he said again in anger, “ I said go home now!” I left immediately without saying anything. I started crying after leaving his house and this wasn’t the important thing but what was important that what has happened back there? Who called him? Did something happen? There were so many questions which I had no answers at all again.

The very next day, I went to school and realized that he didn’t come to school. It continued for a whole week but he didn’t show at all. I tried to ask his friends but couldn’t. I was getting worried and more worried.

Then after a week he showed up and was waiting for me outside the school. I literally started crying after seeing him. He came to me and said, “ I want to take you somewhere, would you like to come?” I replied in joy and said yes. He opened his car door for me and I sat. He started the car but didn’t say anything and smiled. I asked, “Where have you been?” He replied, “I’ll tell you everything when we reach there.” I sat quietly for the whole ride. I can’t even explain but that place was beautiful. It was a small pond surrounded by tall trees. It was really pleasant to see the view he brought me. The air was cool and fresh. The sound of the trees was also pleasant to hear. Everything was really soothing. He asked in a low tone, “ So do you like it?” I replied, “ Yes, it’s peaceful and perfect.” Then we both sat on the big stone lied there. He said, “ This place reminds me of you.” I replied, “ Really how!?” He said, “ As I told you before, I love silence and you’re exactly the same.” Then I asked him to tell me what had happen at the night of the party. He looked into my eyes and asked, “ Would you like to know about my family and my life?” I was looking at him and sensed that there’s really something he was suffering from and I replied, “I would love to.” He continued with a painful smile, “ I didn’t get a chance to meet my parents. They both left me when I was two. My uncle, my dad’s younger brother, took care of me like his own child since then. My uncle was everything and had never let me realized that I was an orphan. He became my dad, my mum and more than everything. I grew up and saw my uncle who always been there for me no matter what.” Hearing his story made me think of my own mother who left me with whatever the reason was but I miss her everyday. Then I asked him, “What about the night you had a phone call and sent me home eagerly?” A drop of tear fell off his eye and hugged me. I got worried because I had never seen him like this before. He continued after a moment, “ It was my lawyer who called me at that night.” I asked, “What lawyer? Is everything alright?” He said, “ As I said my uncle was everything to me. I have always admired him as my role model but now I just don’t and can’t. I found some property papers in his desk drawer. It said that all the property and shares goes to him. Everything which my parents has earned, all goes to him. Clearly I don’t care about any property but...” He stopped eventually and sobbed and continued again, “ My uncle, he is the monster, killed my parents for the inheritance. The truth was he never really cared about me, it was only the money he all cared about. I made him my everything and he betrayed me and my parents in life. It was the lawyer who found out that it was him who did all this inhumanly things.” I got numbed for a moment and couldn’t able to say anything. I mean who could just do this monstrous thing to someone! Then I asked him, “ Where is he now, your uncle?” He replied, “ Police arrested him the day after the party night.” I hugged him so tightly and calmed him down. I thought it’s the family who we trust in this world the most and when they betray you like that, it hurts more than anything. It’s the most dreadful thing could happen to anyone.

I hugged him again and eventually he asked me , “ What’s your deal with your dad?” Yes this was really difficult question for me because I was already angry with my dad. I wasn’t able to figure out from where should I start. Then I told everything what has happened in the morning when I had a fight with my dad. He glared at me and said, “ I am sorry for everything and....” I interrupted him and said, “ Everything happens for a reason.” It was quiet absurd thing to say but it’s true somehow.

After all the talk we started going back home. Meanwhile he said, “ I am glad I found you!” I said, “ Thanks for bringing me this beautiful place.” He again said, “ I've met so many people before but you’re unique. I always wanted someone like you who wouldn’t judge me and care about me selflessly.” Then I smiled and got out of his car and started walking toward my house. He called my name, I stopped and turned back. He came to me, hold me and kissed. And I kissed back. That feeling was strange in a good way, I was getting butterflies in my chest. That moment was perfect for both of us. Indeed it wasn’t only about the kiss but it was the connection we built together. Maybe that’s why they call it “love”. A selfless feeling, an understanding, the butterflies, the happy feeling, all these things we both felt at that moment and it was precious and no one can express this into words. Truly I had never experienced that before but it got me happy. Then I went inside and he left too.

After that day we both realized that we were meant for each other. We both faced family betrayals and hoped for good.

The one thing I have learnt that day was not all families are perfect. Sometimes situation change, people change but we should not lose hope. We shouldn’t change for anyone. Maybe that’s the feeling we call ‘Love’.

Nice story plot. Keep it up. The grammatical structures can be improved on though.
