It was a simple selfie of friends hanging out outside a dining area. It was posted on all the socials without a second thought. Until people saw the photo and pointed out how a man was walking past in the background near the top middle. To those who don't, they just see a normal man. To those who know, he was a convicted criminal recently released from prison. As if that was not scary enough, also in the background near the top left, there's a man in metal-plated armor stalking the criminal. The photo went viral and many more pictures of people in fantasy clothing walking the streets flooded the internet. Videos were being posted of people trying to talk to these outsiders only for them to be threatened or for the video to end just before something bad happened. People began posting theories about who these people are and what they are trying to do.
Then one day, out of the blue, a vlogger filmed themselves buying and opening a metal dice set. He explained that he was told off-screen that if he took half of the dice and put it in one hand and put the other half in his other hand and concentrated something cool would happen. The vlogger streamed himself holding the dice set and concentrating and then slowly being engulfed by goldish energy swirled around him and then became a Dwarf Druid. The dwarf seemed confused and many people claimed it was edited and it was hoax while others thought it explained some of the photos, especially the one that sparked this whole craze.
Meanwhile, the woman who posted the famous selfie was constantly getting bombarded by comments and strangers asking for the location of the selfie and whether she knew anyone in the background. However, some were accusing her of photoshopping the photo to get likes and such. Things were so bad, that the woman was contemplating either moving or even suicide. She went to a bridge and was going to jump off but before she could fall off a man shouted "Don't!" before she could turn around and see who it was she fell and screamed but was caught in the nick of time by her leg. After screaming she looked up and saw a green-skinned man with a mini tusk coming from his mouth. The man slowly pulled her up with ease. When she was over the railing she was in awe of his size and stature, she knew he might be one of the fantasy characters and asked "Who are you, what are you?" the green-skinned man looked at her confused. "I can't answer that right now. However, there is a game store on I think, what was it. Ah yes, Madeline Road. I think the number was 1317? or is it 1713? I can't remember, but if you go there and ask for the "spirit dice" from the manager, he will answer all your questions. I wish I could ask about why you were going to jump off that bridge but I can't right now. Stay safe human." said the green-skinned man. He ran into the darkness and entered a car that sped right past her. More confusion fell on her as she stared as the car's lights slowly faded into the darkness.
The next day she went to the game store and there she asked a clerk about some metal dice the manager was selling. The clerk then went to a phone and called for the manager. Shortly after the manager appeared "Hello, and what can I do for you?" he asked. "I was told you sell certain metal dice, and that you can answer some of my questions regarding the fantasy people." said the woman. "How do you know this?" asked the manager. "Last night I tried to commit suicide but was saved by a green-skinned man. He told to come here." said the woman. "Sherren, that son of a gun. Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it now." whispered the manager, a bit frustrated. "Anyway is there a particular set you're looking for or is it just answers?' asked the manager. "In terms of questions I have several, but I do not care about dice sets unless they can change who I am." said the woman. "That is not how this works. Firstly you need a reason to be given such a powerful dice set. Secondly, you need to put half of the set in one hand and the other half in the other hand. Lastly, concentrate on the soul within the dice. Only then can you unleash the body and magic imprisoned by the dice. Now tell me what kind of metal dice you are looking for?" said the manager. "Alright well what types do you have?" asked the woman. "Now we're talkin'." said the manager. He went around the counter and opened a safe and pulled out several boxes and opened them. In the first was the shiniest gray metal dice the woman had ever seen. the second was a rosegold set, the third was an onyx black metal set, and lastly, there was a white and blue set. As the woman looked at each set it seemed like the gold and blue set was quietly whispering to her. She pointed to the gold and blue set "I'll take that set, please." said the woman. "That'll be $150," said the manager. "$150, that's too expensive for stupid math rocks. Also, how do I know that they even have a soul?" said the woman. "The same way you were saved by a half-orc. By having a stranger tell you what to do." said the manager. "A half-orc, what is that?" asked the woman. The manager looked at the clerk who just put his face in his hands and signed. The manager just stared in the distance in dismay. "Wow, you certainly are not a nerd, that's for sure. But anyway. Half-orcs in most media are part human and part orc. Now there is a world outside of this one where half-orcs are just descendants of orcs since all the orcs are dead. Half-orcs have green skin and are typically stronger than humans. Their whole existence revolves around fighting something, much like how all of human existence is worshipping something." said the manager. "Did you just try to tell me the meaning of life by talking about half-orcs?" said the woman. "Yes, I did. Glad you were actually paying attention. Now are you going to buy this set or are you going to ask more questions about fantasy people?" asked the manager. "Who are they?" asked the woman. "They are Kolorans. All of them, every dwarf, elf, halfling, mermaid, half-orc, gnome, and human that are found in these dice are from another world called Kolora." said the manager. "Why are they in dice?" asked the woman. "Because of magic and divine stuff." said the manager. "Why are they here and why haven't they been made popular?" asked the woman. "Finally a complicated question. Well, God gave the dice sets to angels to give out to people, to help fight against the forces of darkness. There you a go a two for one." said the manager. "God like the Christian God or the Muslim God, or some other being?" asked the woman. The manager used his hand to dig into his shirt and pulled a necklace with a cross on it. "There's no way, he can't exist, he's not real. You're lying." said the woman. "Ma'am if I was lying why did you hear the dice calling to you?" asked the manager. "You heard the dice sets?" asked the woman. "Of course, I did because I'll let you in on a little secret." he leaned "I'm an angel sent here to watch over some important people and recently you became one of them." said the manager. The woman stood still, chills covered her entire body. "That's not possible, none of this is possible." said the woman. "Oh, but it is. See in about 10 minutes there's going to be some kids who walk in and have dice sets and can become totally different people. So why don't you wait and see for yourself? " asked the manager. "I will because I have a hard time believing any of this." said the woman. "Good, your journey to becoming a Dice Changer has now officially started." said the manager.
