It's 12:50 am once again and i just can't help myself but wake up suddenly at the dead of the night.

after squinting my emerald colored eyes i would notice just how the world is engulfed in beautiful darkness from past beyond my open windows.

because of that my feet just can't help but March slowly towards porcelain white designed balcony and would just blindly stare deep into the wide horizons of the world above the beautiful blend of the night sky.

It's always feels like a magnificent display of darkness and dim light filling the brightly scattered stars that are deeply connected with each other which is in turn make a breath-taking sight of star constellations stretching far from the very ends of the limit of my own eyes.

But in the middle of my gaze I just can't help but wonder, to whatever is found within the deep limits of the sky. Maybe someday the stars will lead me to see something important myself in the future.

Because whenever i stare at the night sky i am always being reminded by a certain someone.

It is those tender smiles from a dear friend has left to me before disappearing in the night and never to be seen from again.

No matter how much I ran from the past it still haunts me, it has been four years since Olivia and her family left the country to go somewhere because of her. And I Still can't get over to the feeling of losing someone that was like a sibling to me.

I still Remembered back then...

I first saw Olivia around the very first day of fourth grade when i was finding the faculty room with my stacked books blocking Most of field in my vision to my front. When suddenly i bump into a pale pink long wavy volume curled hair girl making all the books fall to her when i suddenly realized what happened i started panicking by picking up the fallen books.

"I'm horribly sorry it's really just an accident." the cold sweat is falling on my rose golden side swept colored hair to my shaking hands

"That's fine, i also thought you are in such a hard time with all that books in your hand." she grabs on her handkerchief and sweep through both of her hands.

"I'm really sorry though." i kept on twisting my fingers "But do you know where the faculty office is?"

"Are you perhaps a new student?" she looked at me with her blue colored eyes "Well let's see... Amelia Mistycole is it? Let me just accompany you is that okay?"

"Really? I mean thank you for the trouble." while bowing my head

She stood still for a Second and turned around "Oh by the way I'm Olivia Stellar nice to meet you." she held her hands over her back and smiled cheerfully as we head straight to the faculty office.

I didn't expected that it will eventually come. that day when i finally found someone i would value the most on the short time we have.

Then i lean on my back just having a sight over my room. Then i start remembering just how every books from that book shelf would be emptied just because Olivia can't seem to find the book she wants to read the most. Or even the laughters on making that seemingly impossible origami designs that I keep teaching her and we still haven't finished it yet because we have became too distracted with opposing ideas.

But one thing I also remembered is when i first found out that she moved in only two houses next door. And that's when she started also visiting our house and my room more often.

Right after she put down her bag she started skimming around, "so this is your room? Well it looks kinda... Neat"

"Judging by that reaction i think you can't keep your room tidy yourself." i looked at her with a disappointed stare

"Okay, okay that's my bad for leaving my stuff where I want it to be." she pouts while crossing her hands

"but your room is surely filled with stuff more than i do." Olivia started picking out my stamp collection on my calendar "Hmm what is this for?"

"Ohh that! don't touch them." i swiftly snatched them right on her hands "It's something i like collecting because of their cute designs." i started blushing while hugging all my stamps at once

"Oh come on you don't need to be embarrassed about that and I'm sorry too for messing around" she smiled apologetically

"Okay fine but next time i won't let you touch over my valuable treasures got it?"

"Y-yes your majesty!" we both laughed at the end of it.

It was after that day that i started learning more about her too a sensation that everything seems to be going so well on our time that we haven't realized just how fast continues to March on.

While back on my Dark and comfortable room, a sudden gush of the winds blow through my face bringing with it a quinch of dust that enters my eyes.

"It hurts" as i slowly remove the dust from my eyes

Just like that another memory from my mind.

It is around that time after school where i am waiting for her at the huge tree from within our school yards.

"I wonder what's taking her so long? I mean it's over 30 minutes that she is still inside the school." i mutter to myself as i lean towards the tree.

Then i see her at the school gate running and waiving towards me.

"Sorry for making you wait so long Amelia." as she tries to hold her breath "I'll tell you later, now where would you like to go?"

"I'm thinking of heading to the Koi pond, how does it sound?"

She suddenly unzips her carrying bag and grabs something in it

"Ta-da! I've brought us some bread we can share with them as well."

"You always have something like that." i giggled softly

And soon enough we've reached the Koi poind that is surrounded by lively ecosystem of the school of Koi and little birds chirping in one harmony with one another at the setting of the Distant sun at the horizons.

We found ourselves a spot leaning over on overlooking stone bridge that is found beneath the Koi pond.

"so what took you that long?" as i threw some bread to the Koi pond

"Oh its because in charge of the room assignment today."

"Don't worry besides i can wait here for long you know." i looked at her while beaming a gentle smile

"Hey stop you're making my eyes teary." she pushed me gently

Olivia and i find ourselves lost as we watch the koi fishes chasing after the bread one by one. And the small ripples they make as they swim around with their family around it is certainly a cute environment to be living.

Not until then suddenly one Koi fish on the pond started acting strange, as if it is struggling on its own but no one seems to notice it.

"Hey Olivia I'm worried about that koi fish over there, do you think it's okay?"

"it doesn't seems so." she grabbed on her bread and stuff it to her bag "Let's go and save it shall we?."

She offered me a hand before running over the stone staircase leading down the koi pond

"Hey wait for me Olivia." i then chased after her

As i chase over her back i slightly notice her slowing down and holding on to her chest seemingly catching her breath.

"Hey Are you alright?" i approached her and held her back

"No I'm just fine sorry for worrying you"

But as soon as we've reach the koi pond we notice that it is too late for us to save the fish. As the fish is already floating on its side and seemingly without any sign of movement.

"No... Why did that have to happen!?are we too late to notice it being like that!?" i dropped on the ground and started tearing up

But i felt a light tap on my shoulder

"it seems that sometimes we just can't help but accept things right? She offered me a hand with her still comforting smile as always

"i just can't help but think how powerless we are in that kind of situation."

"If that's the case then we should watch over ourselves more so that we can be careful for the next time right?"

"Yeah i truly hope so." i wiped through my teary eyes and take on my carrying bag as well.

And after that we walk together until we reach our homes just like each and every day.

Not knowing that it will be the last day we could have ever meet.

Because right after that night just as I was also gazing at the stars I got a call from her saying that she indeed suffered from Leukemia and she needs an immediate medical attention so her family decided to move to another country.

It just didn't feel like it on that time, but if i have been more careful i would have certainly notice what's wrong with her. And now i feel guilty for not taking that time to truly make her open to me.

And now I regret that I didn't seem to notice what's wrong with her all the time. Maybe if I had been too attentive with the details I would have been able to be at her side.

But now I'm right here just sitting next to the stars, thinking what could have gone right. Telling the stars to cast a bright light and let me see the way to be making towards the future.

Maybe now I'm still slowly dwelling on the darkness of the past because whenever I see these starry night I can't shake the feeling of loneliness beside me filled with Engulfing regrets of "what ifs?"

Who knows maybe the stars would deliver these silent whispers to check upon her once again, wishing that she and I would still be meeting someday in the distant future.

Oh wow, this was amazing! The topics are beautifully covered, there are just a few areas that need improvement. If you happen to go over it, I would watch out for a few grammatical errors and maybe check the flow of the words. The ever repeated advice, "show don't tell" might be helpful for you. Keep writing; I can't wait to see what else you come up with!
