Ava took one look at her new drawing and folded it up, preparing to toss it into the trash can. She didn't believe in crumpling up papers; if you folded them they took up much less space in the trash. But something stopped her from putting this particular drawing in the half-full can. On this piece of paper was something she had wanted since she was little: a Bernese Mountain dog. She had to admit, this drawing was decent...it almost made the puppy look alive. Yet again, it wasn't. And so she tossed it into the trash with purpose. ...

Do you need a friend? If you think you don't know me, you are wrong. I know you, at least. I know that your mother died when you were 3, I know that your father smokes, and I know what you do when you think nobody is looking. You are wrong. I am watching. Waiting. Come with me. I am lonely. Why should I? I am perfectly happy. I know you aren't. Your best friend got the guy. Your brother could care less about you. You need me. You need a friend. Please just come. It will make my job easier. I don't want to. Why not? I am your only true friend....
TatianaWe had another earthquake. There have been a lot recently and they have been getting more violent now, almost as if the gods are unhappy with us. If so, I hope it was not because of the apple I stole. I couldn't afford to buy it, I'm a servant and barely survive under the "care" of Cassius. I mean, it went to good use. Considering my brother was dying, I was sure one apple would be okay. Apparently not. Livia says she would have done the same, but that has no effect on me; she can stroll into her kitchen and ask a servant for anything...

The sunset is a wonderful thing. Crimson, amber, and tangerine beams are thrown into the dusty sky, its beautiful colors embracing the heavens gracefully. A lustrous orb of blazing flames sinks steadily beneath the horizon, bright pink wisps of clouds partially cloaking the sky. And yet sunrise is a new beginning. The sun blooms on the horizon, golden petals stretching ever outwards into the rich blue. It is the brilliant flower of the sky that warms our days. It is the invitation to a new day. I debated the two as I sat cross-legg...
The eerie darkness of that night would never escape my memory. I clearly remember the pitch-black curtain draped over the sky, and the twisted, warped shapes that the stars made against the blackness. The milky speckles twirled and danced along the sky in various patterns, tugging at the corners of my lips in a way that almost made me smile. It was hard to shove aside the worries corrupting my mind, but eventually, I stopped walking over the soft sand below my feet and just... stopped thinking. Nothing from my life could touch me. Not a sing...

8:03 amMonday, May 11Mrs. Walker opened up the windows to her bedroom and sighed, relishing the warmth of the sun and letting the cool breeze run through her hair. Suddenly, a young girl at the age of 8 burst through her own balcony, smiling brighter than light itself. "Hi, Mrs. Walker!" she exclaimed. "Hello, Alex! What are you up to today?""Well...Dr. Morgan is coming again. I don't like her visits." Her smile turned quickly into a somber frown."It's okay; they help you so much.""Sometimes it doesn't seem that way," Alex said, but her frow...

All I remember is him. His eyes. His gorgeous blue eyes and how they twinkle in the light, taunting me from afar. His perfect skin argues with his jet-black wispy hair, which he sweeps aside too often. "Tomorrow." The only word he had ever spoken to me, and yet I yearned to feel his soft hands in between mine. The night I met him was like any other. The crystal sky was lit with stars, shimmering against the darkness that cascaded around them. I wore my favorite dress: periwinkle, with flowers that danced across it like petals that got swept...
