I'm an Oregonian writer who mostly writes nonfiction, but occasionally, as with this piece, characters pound on my door until I tell their stories. Currently, I'm hard at work on my memoir, "Butter Side Up, Thank God," I'm almost 300 pages in and there's still so much to tell that I may have to change the name to the neverending story.
