Another cold morning. Another rude awakening by the sunlight. My house is full of windows, and on a sunny day like this, the rooms are filled with radiant sun; the opposite of how I’m feeling. Empty. Oh! What a terrible day it is. I don’t even know the last time I’ve ever been this sad. I can’t even bring myself to get out of bed. Not since she left me. I will just lay here, hoping my love will come back to me. I haven’t left the house in days? Weeks? Months? I’m not even sure anymore. It’s also been that long since I’ve seen anyone. I...

“I’m older now,” Danny thought, lying in bed. It is 3 in the morning, and Danny can’t sleep. He is up, thinking about this past summer. He was a sleep-away camp head counselor for 14-year-old boys. He had been their counselor for the past two summers, and this summer was the best. The boys had reached their final age of being campers, and with that came natural maturity, and a lot more fun. Later nights, hooking up with girls, a lot more overall perks. This was also Danny’s best summer, or favorite. Danny was the head counselor for these boy...

John woke up feeling weird. Something felt off about today. He couldn’t put his finger on what it was, but he suspects it was from his dream. He didn’t remember his dream was, but it woke him up in a weird mood. He went through school in regular fashion. Talking with friends, going to class, flirting with girls, the usual. During the last class of the day, he day-dreamt about being a famous filmmaker, an aspiration of his, but one he would never pursue. He left school, sped home, and studied for the SAT, which he was taking in a week. Bein...

The lads had just finished their last sips of their fourth round of beers. It was a nice 15-minute walk home they were all prepared for and enjoying the streets of this foreign country on a breezily beautiful night like this, drunk, is something they were all excited to do. They got up, paid a ridiculously large tip relative to the country’s tradition, and left. On the trek back, the gang passed an open-late pizza place. Mark insisted that they must stop for pizza. No one else...

I’m so fucking bored all the time. My classwork and homework are easy. I get it all done in minutes. I work out daily, hangout with people daily, and I still have so much free time. I know this sounds like a dream for a lot of people, but this is torture for me. Wake up, workout, do homework, socialize, repeat. I can’t take it anymore. This is way too easy. I am a freshman in college, I’ve made good friends, I’m in a fraternity, I get some action from girls but nothing special. I play sports, often, and I’m in good shape. Financially, my f...

The move has been okay thus far. I’ve only been here for about a week, and although I still have much to adjust to, I feel like I am slowly, but surely, getting acclimated to this way of life. In this stage of life, one can only feel nostalgic of the good times past. I miss my friends. Now we are all dispersed around the country, and a few still at home. I remember when Bowie would say how excited he was to go to college together. How we would play sports every day, like we did during the school year. How we would go to parties and hook-up w...
