As a kid, from a young age, I always was a big comic book fan. I was more into Marvel Comics than DC Comics. Though, DC has some great characters. Superman being on the top of my list. Growing up as a kid in the 80’s, it was a joy. For a fact, Saturday mornings, was a great day to be a child. Several major networks showing cartoons based on Marvel and DC characters. I read a few comics (I should say watching the visuals more often) but I got to know the superheroes and the supervillains by watching them on the little screen on the Saturday...

I can’t believe it has been twenty years since I finished high school! Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday and sometimes it feels like it was an eternity ago. It’s hard to explain. I miss those days and sometime, I don’t. I remember my last day of high school was on June 23rd, 1994. My last final exam was economics. When I was done, I was extremely relieved. It was around 11 AM and I had submitted my paper to the teacher in charge. Five years of secondary school. It seems to have been five long years back then. Today, fives years seems ...

Summer had just begun officially. I mean, astronomically. Today, June 22nd, at precisely at 4:14am CDT of the year 2022 AD. We live in our little house, a bungalow, in this city called Victoria, in Texas. I love the heat and I love summer here. Temperatures fairly close or above 90 degrees on average during this season. My wife, Rebecca, she prefers the cooler weather though. She is after all born and raised in St-Paul, Minnesota. I am from Dallas, Texas. I’ve always lived in the warmer weather all my life. I work mostly from home, as a fi...

I just got here after a twelve-hour drive. Finally! Thank God I got a great car to drive this far. Nothing fancy, nothing luxurious. I trust my Corolla. It never disappoints me. I do go for work in remote areas and in nature, but I did not see a town, city, or village in the last four hours of my trip before reaching my destination. I arrived at this place. A small isolated quiet town at the bottom of a mountain with a river passing nearby. I am Fred and I am a geologist. I was assigned by my firm to explore, collect, sample, date, and an...

It was December 13th, 1985. Christmas was not too far away. The cold weather had taken over by now. The streets covered with snow. Indeed, it felt that we were in the Christmas spirit. I was happy that day. I did not have much in life. It was only my little boy, Doug, and myself, Mary Ann. Yes, I was a single mother raising my son on my own. We did not have much but we were happy to live in the city. It was very convenient for the commute time for my job and also for Dougie’s daycare. I was working in a factory as a general work...

I, Jim Walter, presently of, Denver, Colorado, declare that this is my last will and testament… Yes, I am writing and finalizing my will. I know who deserves to take over my assets, my legacy, my belongings… It does feel weird when you have been around for over a century on this planet. I am Jim Walter. I am still going strong and I believe I can reach 110. I have seen a lot in my life. Good things, bad things, indifferent things, and things you learn from. One thing that has been really difficult to accept is that I have o...

It was a cold winter night in March 2013. I had finished work after 9pm. I was so happy because my weekend had started. A lot of times, when my ‘’Friday’’ arrived, after work, I would go get some take out from a fast food place. My days off, back then from work, were Thursdays and Fridays. It was not an easy job but I was good at it. I was taking calls and be on the frontline helping clients with their smartphones with technical issues. After a long day of taking calls, and spending a lot of time with clients, listening to them, talking t...
