Rivka stood in the yard, and looked around. She didn't often manage to get up and dressed before her littles were also up and demanding her attention, but it was definitely worth the extra effort today. Fall was her favorite time of year. Java Leia stood in the doorway and peered into the distance. It was just starting to get dark, and there was a brilliant sunset. She stood watching it a moment longer, just soaking in the beauty. I'm a fan of proper grammar, the Oxford comma, all things math, puns, science fiction and fantasy, various needlecrafts, me-made items and clothing, and my many children. Even the ones who write better than I do. (Some of them might write for Reedsy Prompts.) As I feel that Jews in general and Orthodox Jews in particular are rather underrepresented in fiction, and also because, even in fiction, "write what you know" is still good advice, many of my characters will be obviously observant Jews. Oh, and at some point I got set on maximum verbosity. There doesn't seem to be a way to reverse it. As such, I find the short story format particularly challenging. But being challenged can be a good thing.
