An Assistant Editor for Impspired Press in Lincoln, England, Mary Farrell facilitates three Creative Writing Groups, an all-Ireland one on Zoom for Autistic Adults and two Groups locally on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. She has been a member of CIEP, The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, UK, and is a Professional Member of the Irish Writing Society. Three Collections of her varied pieces have been published, It’s like Walking a Tightrope, 2021, Out of the Chrysalis, 2022 and A Phoenix Still Rising , 2023. Springboards: a Creative Writing Manual for Beginners through to Facilitators, and The Kingdom, her debut Collection of short stories, the first part of The Circle Trilogy, were both published in October 2022. The second part of the Trilogy, Maybury, was published in November 2023, and the final segment, New Aysgarth, in February, 2025. She is the Editor of four Anthologies of Northern Irish Writers, Irish Hares and Seahorses, 2022, Spun Yarns and Woven Words, 2023, Sea Spray and Woodland Glades , 2024 and Caught Alight, 2025.
She has performed her work on radio, the stage and at festivals, and has had various pieces of Prose and Poetry published in Magazines and Anthologies, both locally and internationally.
