Now retired from an editorial and features writing position at a regional lifestyle magazine in the South West of the UK, Malcolm has been first place winner in the Peter Pook Humorous Novel Competition, a place winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest, and the winner of the Pipers Ash Writer of the Future Competition, and has had numerous sci-fi stories published in genre magazines. Major influences are the works of Terry Pratchett and Tom Sharpe and, indeed, any writer who likes to prick the bubble of pomposity and the fallacy of organised religion.
