The skin under my fingernails is purple. My lips are stuck together. It is just light enough to see a white haze stream from my nose with each breath. The small beep on my wristwatch tells me that I only have five minutes left to find a light switch, possibly the same amount of time it will take for me to lose all use of my hands. A small beam of pallid light filters through an ice-glazed window, giving the basement a hollow, grey glow. The horizon will soon consume the sun. I run my quivering hands against the wall...

I’m your typical writer: I love cats and coffee. I’m also your typical human being: I love mayonnaise (I’m telling you, that creamy-white wonder of a condiment is reason enough to believe that there is goodness in this world). Anyway, I’ve written since I was about seven, but I’ve only recently gotten serious about honing my craft. I have tried my hand at many personal projects such as short stories, novels, novellas, TV show/comic scripts, and am currently attempting to piece together a musical. Although my favorite genres veer more on the side of folk/fantasy, historical fiction, and steampunk, I’ll write or consume any genre as long as the characters are solid/diverse and the story is intriguing. I can’t write while I listen to music, but I do listen to music while I brainstorm. It helps me visualize the scenes, and it’s just super fun (definitely recommend)!
