The morning took on a sickly green cast as anxiety crawled across my skin. I wracked my memory, trying to piece together the events of the party from the night before, but all I could summon was an unsettling void. My clothes lay scattered on the bedroom floor, no errant blouse in the living room or shoes in the yard, and my wallet and jewelry remained untouched. So far, so good. As I slouched my way back from the kitchen, I caught a flash of myself in the hall mirror. My slept-in makeup and disheveled hair actually looked kind of sexy.

Mobilize for Phoenix, appeared on the channel reserved for the militia. The Free Born Discord servers had been blowing up for over seventy-two hours. Incessant be-boops were driving me up the wall. I mean, how much can you say about ammunition stores and meeting points? The clamor of it hurt my brain. Finally, I muted all media channels except for one. When the be-boop signaling the orders to move out sounded, it was loud and clear.At least two hundred protestors were on the way from Las Vegas, California...

Author bio

Kitty Turner’s circus and showgirl career spanned five years. Until 2017, she toured the Caribbean casino and resort circuit along the Antilles Chain with her husband and a rotating cast of international circus performers aboard a 47 ft. sailboat. Before moving to the Caribbean in 2007, Kitty co-owned the award-winning nightclub 12 Galaxies in the Mission District of San Francisco. After hurricanes Irma and Maria destroyed her sailboat home, Kitty relocated to the Reno area and founded the book marketing company Daily House Media. Kitty's debut novel Zone Trip is coming to Amazon on August 8th.
