Monday, July 21, 2020. 8 o'clock pm.I'm walking along the street of Kato, in Kano State, Nigeria. I decided to come at night to flee from the peering eyes and inquisitive looks of my once-upon-a-time playmates and street buddies who would've been trying to guess who I was, if I had come during the day. It is dark. The street is dark; there is no power supply at the moment -no thanks to the epileptic power supply that is characteristic of Nigeria. Giant of Africa my foot!
