This was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives. Today should have been filled with happiness and laughter, promises and vows, nervous excitement and joyful anticipation. There it was. The scent I would never in my lifetime forget. It was perfect, and it made my mouth water. Though it was all around me, I couldn’t pinpoint where exactly it was coming from. But it didn’t matter either way. I checked my watch for the tenth time in only an hour. With a heavy sigh, I placed my chin in my hand and gazed out the window of the cozy cafe booth I had nestled into. The snow was beginning to fall with a vengeance, as though it had some sort of grudge against us New Yorkers.
