"Average". That's what the teacher was saying to Miara. The rest of the teacher's words faded while the student continued to day dream. It wasn't the first time "average" was used to describe Miara or the things she did: her grades were average, she put in average effort to complete projects and she was even told she looked average. Oh well... The best part of her day was about to begin. School was over for the day. She was about to meet-up with her "not average" friend Jai. Jai was everything Maira was not: gorgeous, a jock, straight A stud...

William Weasley was confused. How on earth had he become involved in this mess? He didn't know these people. William had been minding his own business, as usual, counting his cash drawer at the end of the work day. It had to balance perfectly, as was the custom for him. All of a sudden the bank manager announces all of the tellers were to report to the conference room immediately. "Really", he said to himself, "right now? My work day is over." As the others are passing him on the way to the meeting, William is pleased he's not the only one u...

Here we go again. All over Facebook, Twitter, even family members and friends - New Year Resolutions. Ugh! Why do people do this to themselves? I, for one, refuse to participate in this nonsense. I mean really, how often does one actually fulfill the resolution(s). I remember in my younger days making promises to myself like: I was going to ask Kevin out, I was going to tryout for the track team, I was going to make myself popular. Yada yada yada. How silly I was.None of my resolutions ever came true. So, they weren't realistic. I tried more...

I am actually excited about this New Year's Eve. Usually, I stay in, read a good book, order a great meal and fall asleep before the ball drops at Times Square. This year I'm going to a co-workers party. I've had enough of playing the lonely, shy girl who turns down great opportunities.Gina has become a great friend. She pushed her way through my barrier and introduced me to the best times of my life. I have lunch, dinner and shopping outings. There's game night at Mark's, Gina's fiance'. I'm enjoying myself for the first time in years.I hav...

Our friends Nila and Greg are the reason we are apart of this wonderful neighborhood. We transferred five years ago and there are no regrets. These tree-lined streets with houses of all types: mid-century modern, Victorian, farm house, makes it whimsical and beautiful. We also have a tree house just off the cul-de-sac. It's quiet and safe. We have block parties, cookout, watch ballgames together. We couldn't ask for a better place. But, lately we are all on edge. There has been a string of robberies in our perfect neck of the world. Most of u...
