You've probably never heard of Sandford Parva, a small village in Dorset on a quiet road five miles away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Its tree lined avenue, verdant village green complete with pond and wildlife creates the perfect picture postcard of an idyllic village in the west country. Naturally, the inhabitants of Sandford Magna, a couple of miles to the north, dispute such a claim, based mainly on the fact that their spreading chestnut tree is much bigger and fifty years older. Author bio

ABOUT ME I grew up in the north east of England where I served an engineering apprenticeship in the coal mines. Those were the formative years of my life, rubbing shoulders with men who worked hard and played hard. Back-breaking work honed their spirits, like diamonds in the rough. Their stories, their tongue in cheek sense of humour, their struggles with life and love, are forever etched into my mind. The Templeton files are my tribute to them, and the County of Durham whether it be the crowded industrial east or the remote and beautiful North Pennines of the west where hill farmers toil for a living.
