The door was locked. Frank couldn't help but stare at it in the silent and dark hallway. The door’s texture was smooth beneath the vines covering it. He began to rip away the underbrush with his large hands, unveiling what lay beneath. “What?” He sat back on his haunches and gazed with astonishment. It was a red door.  How was this possible? Artur Nistra has lived in the United States since 1998 when he first arrived in New York City from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to try an adventure of a lifetime, moving later to Florida for its many appeals. After moving to Florida in 2003, Artur earned an Associate of Science in Graphic Design from Florida State College, and later a Bachelors in Communication and Advertising from the University of North Florida, while working on his application to become an American citizen. In 2016, after many years working in advertising, and now a full-fledged citizen, Artur welcomed a career change working at JAX Airport as a Transportation Security Officer for the Department of Homeland Security. A dynamic environment, with no deadlines, no endless emails, and where every single day is full of surprises. With that said, Artur finally refocused his creative power into writing shortly after his younger sister passed away in 2019, leaving an emotional void he quickly turned into words. Propelled by loss and pain, Artur brought his old ideas to life, turning them into short stories, novellas, a children’s book, and even an epic fantasy on the works.
